- George and Elizabeth had a unique opportunity to compare three generation of the Rolex two tone submariner side by side, including a vintage two tone Rolex 16613.
Nicknamed the "Bluesy" for the blue dial and blue bezel, this Rolesor (Rolex's term for half steel, half gold) watch was first released in the 1980s and has had several different evolutions over the years. The three generations of the Rolex submariner two tone viewed in this video are -
Rolex Submariner 16613 - year 1992,
Rolex Submariner 116613 - year 2009, 40mm maxi case
Rolex Submariner 126613 - year 2021, 41mm case

16613 is the best. Dark blue is the color of luxury, glamour, and noble
41m blusey is for sure my fav sub of all time
I will say, a Rolex dealer blessed me and called me the other day and they told me a 2022 Submariner two tone Bluesy was ready for purchase and I couldn't run fast enough to get it lolol. What a beautiful watch, I have been wearing it for about 4 days now and I just love it. and yes I waited 2 yrs for a bluesy and I am glad it's the 41mm too. Great video and thanks for the education.
Congratulations!

I guess we have to thank the stock market crash or something like that lolololol.
I've been asking for Pepsi on either bracelet 😩 😫, this is the only thing I hate about the brand. They sell.most of the stock to flippers. Anyway I hope you wear yours in great health. Thanks for sharing 👍
Excellent video guys, nicely done.
Fun video to watch!! I have the two tone Daytona with a champagne dial. The Rolesor Rolex’s are a good value. You get a colorful luxury watch without destroying your wallet.
Thanks for watching Matt, more videos to come!
awesome vintage rolex two tone submariner bluesy watch !!!
Is there a video to show how to remove the bracelet on the 16613 bluesy?
Great content, you guyz, from Oliver Smith. 2 thumbs up.
Much appreciated!
Thank you! Wish I could make the perfect amalgam of the first and last.
Blue looks great and is a cool watch - I got the 126613ln and prefer it - did the LN come out the same time as the LB in the 80s?
The Two tone black has mirrored the two tone blue throughout the years.- George
Thanks for this video 👌🏽
Thank you for tuning in!
As a Brit, I appreciate this interesting comparison. Thanks for upload.
I got the 1st generation one, as a present, and the luminiscent dots wont shine. They dont shine in the dark. Is it because they're not suposed to? Or maybe they've lost their especial painting? Thanks!
Yep, the earlier 16613 models used Tritium, which fades over time.
Actually to tell you the truth all of these watches are stunning 😍
I totally agree. I’m thinking about purchasing a 1999 Bluesy
What is the watch she is wearing?
Nice video, just bought mine last month by just walked in the AD , MY LUCKY DAY they just offered me this bluesy , Bought it without hesitate
What an awesome video !! !!
Appreciate you tuning in!
The 2009 - 2012 matte blue dials are now fetching higher prices. Possible collectors piece someday.
Are there 16613 with purple dials?
Yes but not this one in the video
Rolex 41 Solid all Yellow Gold Submariner ??
Or the Rolex 41 Two Tone Submariner Bluesy ? ? ? ?
Two tone is more classy and the solid is just awful in my opinion
I wish I could just drop 12 grand on my wrist...
You can get a new 41mm Bluesy for 18k on the grey market.
And yeah, I used to think the prices were high.
But with these variety of Rolex’, you are not likely to lose any money. In fact. I’ve made money off my Hulk and Coke GMT. I know have a YG GMT circa 2008-2010 and it’s awesome. I could sell it tomorrow if I needed to and get my money back. So it’s an asset and more fun than collecting gold coins-yes-you should have some of those too.
Spoken like a man with a lot of disposable income to buy them in the first place and unless you have brought them at retail, you won't be getting your money from from a dealer for a good while. But if you have the money to spend, and your three watches would be £50,000 on the grey market then enjoy in good health. I have a modest explorer
Instalment plans available 😂
Love it
I prefer the 116613lb over the 126613lb for the fact that it is the first generation of ceramic bezel, gold text, solid links, glidelock, AR coating on the inside of the sapphire crystal and the Maxi case is discontinued. The other one has an AR coating on the top of the sapphire crystal where it can definitely be scuffed and scratched. Also it has white painted on text unlike the Maxi case dial that is 18-karat gold text.
You are totally wrong you say that because you dont have the last one , i had the old an now the last and white texte is so much better , match index , look like sky and cloud , size of lugs is normal not so big and ar coating is on the top of the bubble , for saphire stay inside ...blue sunburst dial make the watch , flat blue is boring in 2 days...
Watch didn't come out until 1988. Confused how homeboy says he remembers it from 1984. I smell a hack.
Just about to watch it. I think the last 3 including this were recorded at the same time: from your clothes. It’s not as appealing as it is to think you uploaded it yesterday or this morning: not as much of a personal connection, like discussing it with your friend live, or almost.
Thank you for the feedback Andrew
Bluesy looks cheesy
HER PULLOVER MATCHES THE HULK ON HER WRIST
