Great point and I would likely order a pair of ErgoArms (this one looks very well engineered) if available as I have both an SW321C and SW271 and just recently had to put them back on their native bases and off the dual articulating arms I have (long story but the setup just wasn’t working on my specific desk setup). In my revised setup the monitors now work much better, ergonomically speaking, but I would love to remove the bases for a cleaner desktop and utilize that desk space beneath the monitors.
These arms are model specific to accommodate for weight and balance of the display model. This "might" be sold separate later on. As for SW models, we shall have to see what happens. I know there are some who might want this.
@@ArtIsRight Understood, Art, and thanks but as brand ambassador and to the extent you can, I would greatly encourage Benq to have versions of these Ergo Arms available for other of their monitors. Looking at your video, I have to think that an SW271 would “clip in” to that arm as readily as that new PD2706UA and am guessing you may well have already tried it.
Due to the depth of the mount on the SW vs PD, they are not compatible. If something is to happened, it would have to be a SW specific arm.

Thanks for the good info. I've ordered mine to replace a Dell pro level monitor I've had for several years. My question is how do you mount the ergo arm on a wooden desk that has a one inch lip that's about 2 inches deep before hitting the main base and no hole in the top of it. I dont want to have to drill a hole and the 2706 with a standard base isnt available.
You'll see that the ergo arm mount is like a U shape thing that will allow you to go pass the lip. And if anything you can always put a small wood block to decrease the vertical mounting depth.
I love your videos!!!! Which model, in your opinion, would you recommend if I am on a budget and I will use the monitor to edit photos and watch Netflix or CZcams? I know is a difficult question…. All the best
for 27" this model, PD2705U is a bit a more economical but I think you are better with this model.

U is the standard desktop stand version, UA is the Ergo Arm Version for Desk / counter mount.
What is a safe tabletop or top desk thickness to clamp ergo arm to?
I would not clamp it onto a glass top; otherwise, if your desk is real wood, you should be ok. Ikea desk works well. Just don't over-tighten.

i was thinking between BenQ PD2700U vs BenQ PD2705U monitor for photo editing and cad use, but i dont know which is better. I saw your videos and you are the only who review in depth professional monitors, especially Benq.Do you recommend some of this monitors, or something with the same price range?also i have a mac, but i will not connect it very often in the monitor
For those 2 models, PD2700U has been discontinued in some market already. PD2705U is the replacement for the 2700. They are both entry model that can do 99-100% sRGB, if that is all you need gamut wise you are good.

For photo and video work, no, 250 is too bright. For photo and video reference is usually between 80-120 nits
@ArtIsRight Hi, please help me, i have a BenQ with 100% srgb and is a pre calibrated monitor, do i need install the ICC profile from Benq site if my monitor it is already factory calibrated? Or can i use the standard windows profile srgb? (i haven't a spyder x for calibrate my monitor and create a ICC profile). Also for digital art (drawing) can i use STANDARD MODE? Because my monitor have that mode of default, if i use srgb mode the color is ugly. Please someone help me.
You can use standard mode and if you like you can download the profile but it is not necessary.

Hello, sorry not sure if you are still using this. Can you tell me when the distance from your desk to the bottom of the monitor? When you lift the monitor to its max height? Trying to work out it the arm is high enough for me. Many thanks
It is higher than a Mac studio, I know this is not specific, however, I don't have that display setup at the moment.
I am concerned about mounting this monitor. I received a motorized standing desk with a bamboo desktop. Will the mount work on this bamboo top and will it leave marks from clamp pressure? (Flexispot Pro Bamboo).
Also, I have seen monitors where the mount sits “center” of the monitor and other images show the arm is mount off to one side. What would be the correct position for this monitor?
Also looking at the PD3205ua which would be my preferred choice.

Haven't on my desk, marks wise. You can mount it in any position, your choice really. PD3205UA is a bigger one but good too, all depends on the need.

I bought the Benq PD2706U few days ago for my windows laptop! The monitor looks washed out whenever I put it in SRGB mode. I tried with changing the DP port, type C,resetting color even though I updated the monitor firmware from V3 to V5. At last I tried with multiple laptops to check the color but got same washed out color.could you please help me out with informations to get rid off the washed color cause my main workflow is SRGB and rec709.
it should not look that way. I would reach out to your local BenQ support for help. If they determined that it is defect and you are in the return period, I would return and buy a new one instead of exchange.
I have a glass desk. I didn’t buy this version because I was concerned it might be a bit too much strain for it. Any thoughts?
I would not use this arm on a glass desk, my concern as well and I would rather not find out the hard way
Would it work as well if you mounted on the left or right side of your table? I kind of have shelves behind my monitor on my desk.
It is simply a clamp and if you have space, it can be mounted on any appropriate surfaces / ledge / counter top regardless of sides :)

I find your videos very informative but it confuses me also since I am looking for a monitor to edit still photographs only, no video. I use Lightroom and Photoshop exclusively and was going to pick up the SW270 but now I am doubting myself and think I should get this one. I trust you opinion and would appreciate your advice. You are a photographer, go with the SW, BenQ PD line is created for creators who don't print. And with SW you are getting 99% Adobe RGB coverage, with PD you only get P3. Hope this helps. Full review that talks about this will be coming soon!
I read reviews of several buyers who bought this model and they said that they did a calibration and they got 85% adobe RGB on it? Even though Bing Q doesn’t talk about it you still get adobe RGB according to six people I read who bought the monitor?
Is adobe RGB something that’s added to the panel? Or Ben Q just doesn’t talk about it because it’s not 100% range?
Tiny bit confused at this. A lot of people were happy that they got the calibration of 85% on Adobe RGB on this monitor.

Yes you can remove the yellow tag, just don't try to peel anything on the display under the tag.

My desk is about twice the width of your desk. So this mount wouldn't work for me. It is also P3 color space. I'm a PC owner and prefer Adobe RGB. What is the newest Adobe RGB 27 incher?
There's always a desktop version. And if you need Adobe RGB then you would have to look at the SW models.

RGB is Red Green Blue and it is not a gamut, sRGB, Adobe RGB, P3, etc is a gamut.

Hi Art, what 4K 144hz / 165hz monitor from BenQ do you recommend for creative work by day and gaming by night?
Sorry for butting in. But I think you need to define "creative" there my friend. Photography? Web? Illustration? General Graphic design (inc. for print)? Video editing? etc, etc. each of those don't necessarily share the same "best" characteristics. For example, best general graphic design monitors are almost all 60Hz, so terrible for gaming (for that reason i have one for work, and another for gaming). Pure photography you have great options at higher refresh rates, so more choice that are also good for gaming and, so on.
@@PolarRed final cut pro, Photoshop, capture one, indesign, etc.etc. All those color critical things. I currently have three LG 27GP950 and it works fine for my needs. I cannot go back to 60hz because 144hz is so smooth even with normal desktop usage.

Seriously though, you do have more options if you don't have to worry about a Mac.I'm "lucky", I design on a Mac but game on a PC, so getting two different monitors was just a question of budget for me and I could concentrate on what was best for each use. I do NOT do weddings or fashion or assignments. Would if if I was a little younger ha ha.
I mainly doing creative fine art Photography of my past work and current coming up that I want to showcase on a gallery website.
If I was younger, I would’ve printed out my work. No need to now.
So what will happen this will be a showcase of my work for customers to see order prints in different sizes in frames etc. and the third-party company that’s associated with that website will then print and send to the customer.
Those companies are some of the well-known photography companies in the United States so I’m sure you know them if I said their names.
I would assume if I use this Monitor to edit 3rd party companies can print accurately from my images?
Lastly, I have color work but I also love BLACK AND WHITE so I want good representation of Full range of grayscale

I feel this display would be a good fit. The tinting will be ok once it is backlight - display on. So you should be fine. I would purchase it and give it a try.

Before watching a review, I like to know the basic price point. I did not see it in your review admittedly scrubbing quickly rather than watching it all the way through. Also did not see a link on this particular model in your description, and after a few minutes on the BenQ site did not find the price either. Is this a model that “if you have to ask the price, it is too expensive for you?”

There's something close PD3205U /UA or another one to consider is the PD3220U which is flagship
But I like the specs on the 2706 UA I was hoping Ben Q was coming out with the 3206 UA considering they did that on the 05 versions

Looks like a decent screen, but still only 4K! Unfortunately for me, pixel density is king. i could never go back to anything below 5k on a 27inch for design work now. I dread the day my LG5K dies and the only option i'm left with is an Apple display! It's pretty sad that so few players have seriously (reasonably priced) entered into the colour accurate 5k display market over the years, there's only really Apple left at the moment! Maybe you could twist the powers that be over at at BenQ's arms a bit Art? The Ergo Arm looks good, I dread to think how much the Cupertino mafia would charge for something like that?

And here’s the backstory, and what I’m being told:
“ the PD3205UA is almost Identical to the PD2706 model with the exception of color gamut.
While the PD2706UA is listing a 90% DCI-P3 color gamut, there is no percentage listed for DCI-P3 with the PD3205UA model. The Rec. 709 and sRGB color gamut are identical for both the PD3205UA and the PD2706UA models at 99% for both.
I am fairly certain the missing DCI-PC color gamut specification will not be an issue with the kind of workflow you described. ”
