Bell is fine Matt, better to have it for safety. Thanks for the updates! Enjoying your rides.
That side road trip made my heart race. Wow scary 😵!
You never fail to keep and maintain our interest Matt. The way that you put these videos together is just 👌🏻 Thanks for sharing your adventures mate. Quality stuff as always.
So I'm watching as you take the side road instead of the tunnel. My first thought was this is how the horror movies always start. Second thought, I would of gone that way too
Stay safe Matt. Silicon flashing light attachments only a dollar, very little weight and inconsequential cost of losing it. John Daub is too busy doing live shows and his adventure dvd project to sell about his adventures around Japan. It would be hilarious if you both can team up together at one destination and meet up in another, you ride your trike and he hitches a ride.
YEP; Tiny Little STOB Light on Top of FLAG ! GOOD CALL ... NO to HELLS BELL !
Love your bell great idea.
The lightning sign means "Honk Horn". When you see a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction, you must honk a horn. This is to prevent collision in medium sized to narrow roads.
Your Vlogs are very interesting, I have no desire to do what you are doing. It is all very interesting though and I want to thank your for talking me for this ride through these very interesting places. It seems it was much nicer to take the road less traveled and probably much safer too. Ja Yoe.
that no mans road looked like japans version of deliverance! i was also thing of the movie the forest.
WOW driving on the left, how very civilised!
Steven Johnston I quite agree, driving on the right terrifies me, even as a passenger!
Off the Beaten Path ; OH YEA ! PLEASE... ALWAYS take the Path Less Traveled By ! This Farm Boy; needs his Country !
Yeah, the bell is a bit annoying, but it keeps you safe!
Japan has a number of elevations that, while shorter than 1000 meters, are still called mountains. Here are a few of the shortest.
Mount Bizan 280m Tokushima
Mount Daimaru 271m Hokkaidō
Mount Ishikawa 204m Okinawa
Mount Suribachi 166m Tokyo (Ogasawara Islands)
Mount Maru (Hiroo) 117m Hokkaidō
Mount Komaki 85.9m Aichi
Beautiful vlog and drone shots!!! The bell does NOT bother me, almost sounds like a cow bell!!! That last trail was beautiful at the same time scary!!! Can't wait to see more of Japan!!! Have a good night!! JaYoe!!
The Bell Is great for alerting possible Bears that you are coming, which may be an issue in the coming weeks. Its also great for letting people walking and bicycling that your approaching.
The Abandoned road was an awesome addition. Keep that up. Its always more interesting to risk it. I ended up having to back track 5 miles on the WB&A Trail in Maryland last week due to a bridge not being installed. Which I knew it was a missing, I was just hoping for something I could walk across, instead it was 50 meters of Marsh and snakes. So back track it was. But I ended up riding from Baltimore Area to Washington DC.
Two roads diverged in the woods, I took the one less traveled by.
Cool drone/camera work!
Bell is good. Be safe
Awesome bypass road less travelled
Keep the bell, People look a lot quicker with a sound then just you at a low angle. I wonder what the new hat will look like.
With those bells, you sound like a heard of yaks going down the road. Hope they keep you safe!
Yes, that bell is irritating, but if it helps you stay safe, so be it. That was a very interesting side road off the tunnel. Glad to see you didn't break down or get hurt taking it.
There ya go, Matt. Japan was worried you weren't getting enough upper body training so gave you some barriers ;p
lol 14:47 there is a sign at the exit of the side road, pretty much says STOP, they didnt want ppl to use that road, but it was quite an adventure
Matt, if the pedal extenders don’t do what you need you might try a pedal that has more float in them so as your foot travels through the pedal motion your foot can move to natural position for your body without releasing from the pedal. Great videos of your travels. I ride ICE Adventure. Triking saved my life.
Keep safe!
I liked Osaka when I visited a few times, lots to do. I wish I would have explored more.
Very cool...! It seems you find fans where ever you go , and I think it awesome...! Is it the trike that draws them to you ,or just the American charm that you carry along with you...? Either way it must be a awesome feeling being greeted by so many a people from around the country you traverse ...
There was a road close sign at the exit of the side road.
Think of lifting your trike as your weight training exercise for the day. JaYoe!
Looking good Matt!
Watching all your japan series.
I like the road less traveled, it adds a little adventure (not that you need more). On a different subject... When you have some down time, check out #relive. It is an app that encapsulates your strava data into a topographical flyover and pops your photos up, where you took them. It would be really cool to keep a log after each country that you travel thru, maybe you could embed them into you JaYoe map.
Catching up on your Japan tour - liked how you numbered the China trip, could follow them in order. About the road to the side of the tunnel - it kind of looks like it was there before the tunnel or it was a detour while the tunnel was being built.
JaYoe Witch Project I was thinking on the road less traveled.
Can see you are already missing the yellow hat by the sunburn.
I cycled around Japan while I lived there. Most of the tunnels had those "alternative" routes for bikes. I loved them. Glad you had your bear bell on though ;) good luck. Watching this is bringing back a lot of memories. A beautiful country to cycle.
1:47 rip Ja Yoe hat!!!!
Bell is a little annoying but if it keeps you safe it is tolerable lol. 👍 Also, you better find another hat or wear some sunscreen, your burning your melon! 😆
the road sign means honk horn
+MrSmketr that makes sense!
inside the tunnel looks pretty scary with no enough space for the trike you are on though. i think you may need to put a emergency lighting gadget behind the rear or side bags so that the diver in the tunnel can notice you riding trike beforehand. bear in mind there are unexpected the sleepy driver that are unnoticing what is going on forward and backward behind you in the highway. be prepared for your safty journey. accident happens in a flash second though .
we put the bells on the motorbikes the thing is, there for warting of bad spirits from attacking your ride, as the pure sweet tones drive them crazy, and they will leave you alone, but i have them just barely under the running boards so when your in a sweeping corner, you dont lean over to far and high side yourself and crash, so when you hear the bells, you dont lean it over any farther, saved me more times than I could count.
2:56 Hat
2:57 No hat
It was you editing! Maybe the hat is still on your harddisk?
+drie wiel hahahahahah not there. I checked.
Do you have safety lights on the trike? I didn't notice any.
I'd love to ride in places like this where there's a good, mostly safe cycling infrastructure. My city here in the U.S. is severely lacking. By the way, ever consider livestreaming?
+DanPLC I livestream all the time on my personal Facebook account.
the JaYoe Nation Wow I had no idea
That bell sounds like you're being chased by a cat......
The road less travelled looks very much how I expected Japan's mountainous roads to look like, very beautiful!
2:33 should of popped it over the road rail.
oh boy, gotta carry your trike go up and down. gosh, not trike friendly at all
btw glad you didnt bump into "anything" when u decided to go for the mountain road instead of tunnel, japan and thailand are pretty much famous with these paranormal stuff in asia. beware my friend XD
you are traveling all over the world
those drone flghts are so wonderful, too bad you can't just fly 75% of the time!
LOL. .. I watch only in Japan .. .John ..
+Michael Han hah. Send him a message to contact me! :)
have you noticed the tire getting smaller about the waist? i know you are still eating good so i thought i would ask.
oh no the hat
This is so damn interesting, :)
not the first time I was given the bird or the last
New bell?
Tighten your helmet, please! 😊
I wan't to ride & fly drone with you in Europe. So, stay safe ;)
Matt I just notice something why don't you go to the outside low rail and only have to do it once have a look at your video again just notice its a road for vehicles as well? Stay Awesome.
Do you think you will have crazy abs after the trip is all over?
JA YOE!!!
noticed no chapel sign stand for church at where on the street there are really really many churches in korea regardless the size concerned and one thing i feel shame on korea is the pedestrians pavement on the sideway in Japan and first floor shops at each building are really well made with no stucks to get in and out.
This bell is kind of cute. But you know you have to ditch it right?
Really loving your drone shots of Japanese countryside. Beautiful. Had my fingers crossed the entire time you were on that scary side road lol. Get another hat, your forehead is red.... :) Stay safe!!
14:48
No thoroughfare
Still need a new hat though.
the road not taken
13:18 - shit i Frightened diz like falling down camera motion.
Matt why these fingers??5:54
P.S. dont worry those jiggle bell will soon drive you crazy! at least under my running boards I don't hear them all the time like you will placeing them on the flag pole. Mark my words. okay just saying...
感觉很阴森!~太干净导致的?
Wonder if there is a chance of someone following you visit the place you left the hat and look for it?.. It's a pity you left behind it since by the end of the vlog your face was red (might be an issue with the video recording device) I liked the mysterious side track you took - no people, no cars, trees and nature even close to civilization. Seemed to be so peaceful.
Ha, so basically what you're saying is you've got child bearing hips, lol
ja Jou.
Damn... the hat :(
And what do crows say "faaaaarrrk"
Nothin like an off road adventure. I reckon you should wear the helmet on downhills.
u need to keep that helmet strap relatively tight to maximise the safety the helmet provides
Dude, spf skincare. your always red after a day of riding. i hope you put something on.
HAHA ,
Could I ask which mountain were you traveling? It looks tranquil and safe.
Wow great video, great scenery. How much Japanese do you speak ?
japan's rural regions are the best in Asia, really somehow as clean as Germany...
lose the bell not the hat!
riding bicycle on highways...
+1 2 there were no other ways
Don't like the bell
That bell is not good for a youtube channel, it annoys the hell out of me.
He needs it to stay safe from the bears, they are everywhere in rural hiking areas.
