1. Auto audio sync
2. effects and templated lower thirds

The snapshot is based off the recommended export setting for your project. This is based on the first clip you drop in but can be adjusted manually. Double check there and make sure the resolution matches the clip you're trying to snapshot.

Your advice is excellent, however I have a problem with snapshots with HLG footage (with paid LUT applied). The video plays okay on the timeline including when paused. When I take a snapshot, it is very overexposed compared to an iPad screengrab, which is correctly exposed.

Sorry, this is a known issue. The snapshots are currently designed to be added back into the same project and should show correctly in the timeline, but will look overexposed when used in any other context. We hope to change this in a future update.

You can key out the background if it is a solid color, such as a green or blue screen. Double Tap a Clip --> Tap Color & Effects --> Tap Keys.
