World War Bee 2 reaches its boiling point with the largest and the most destructive and largest battle ever fought in EVE Online. Over 250 titans were lost over the course of the 12+ hours engagement with over 5000 pilots in the system. Well over 4000 ships or ~$350,000 USD of assets were destroyed in the battle, setting yet another world record...in 4K 2.39 aspect ratio.

I would like to imagine at least one innocent player accidentally warped into this system during the battle
You are so wrong for that (lol). I'll just keep chasing the angel Cartel is highsec.
I heard this battle started because a VNI got hotdropped.
Bro that would be so me
MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM
Innocent? Nobody in Eve is innocent.
what non eve players would imagine: an epic space battle unfolding over 10+ hours
what truly happened: waiting for the next frame to load for over 10 hours and losing your ship in the process
lol
I was wondering about that, when in the video he mentioned "5000 players" ... so the game does lag like all other MMO's when there is alot going on!?
That's the unfortunate technological limitations of EVE. They don't have techs like Star Citizen is developing like persistent entity streaming and replication layer where they can keep adding more servers as more people are crammed into a location. In EVE it's just 5k people sitting in 1 system and 1 server node while another 5-10k is trying to get in while only a handful would get in at a time, which leads to a turkey shoot.
@@AHigherPerspective You can call up CCP's help desk and put in a request to have a server node "reinforced" as in dedicate more processing from the cluster to the node, but tidi is still a pain. Also, from what I heard through the grapevine is that Imperium knew where the PAPI titans were going to land and basically bubbled them to hell and back so they could not leave. This system was camped for at least a couple of months afterwards with PAPI titan pilots trapped since they logged off in space during the fight. Imperium knew where they logged off and kept that location bubbled. Every time one would log in, a fleet ping went out and a titan would die. A few did escape here and there. Fast forward to today. One of the PAPI leaders got fed up with PAPI and joined the Imperium.
That was actually what I was expecting.
"I do not know with what weapons World War Bee II will be fought with, but World War Bee III will be fought with corvettes."
at least they're free right?
@@AHigherPerspective I feel like BRAVE has a strategic advantage in this, they've been ruthlessly optimizing for fun/hour for a decade. Looking forward to the Corvette and Cormorrino war!
Corms will become the capitals of WWB3
I do know the next video will be "Graveyard of Corvettes"
Now that would be epic 4K players fighting it out in stock corvettes .... well at least 2 civilian lasers each :p
A moment of silence for all the graphics cards that died that day.
Lol!
And the servers that had to host this battle
Talk about a lag fest...
🤣🤣🤣
Moment of silence for the pain that is tidi. Utterly horrendous gameplay
I always love how Eve will actually take the stuff the players do and put it into the lore of the game and make massive ship graveyards where it happened and everything. This game is really special and goes to show how much they actually love their community (Sorry I know this is 2 years late)

This is not only the most expensive single battle in EVE history, but also the largest single space battle in videogame history on total tonnage participating. The poor server unlucky enough to get stuck with that work load must've suffered terribly.

@@PraiseTheLordyourGodJesus Harassing your virtual neighbors with your religious beliefs at 4AM isn't very nice my guy. While your "god" left me a mess for months at the death of my grandmother he struck down suddenly and without warning, I found my salvation in the arms of a goddess of wisdom and fertility. Grandmother was a lifelong devout Christian like yourself, obsessed with spreading "his" word, every room had either a cross or some visage of Mary on the walls, and she even held late night and extremely early morning bible study with fellow Christians, regularly blaring sermon recordings on the livingroom TV at horrid hours. He remains silent to this day.
Lady Inari was the one who picked me up when I was down, she came to me in a dream clearer than reality, her loving embrace and wisened words put me together when my mind and heart were in pieces. But you won't see me touting lady Inari's wisdom on everything I post, let alone shoving phrases someone else vaguely tangential to her once said into random, months old comments. Her messenger, a silver-haired fox named "Kon", stays with me at all times, even when I'm awake. She shares a similarly wisened perspective to her patron and provides knowledge I couldn't have known on my own, but reliably proves true. Her advice has never steered me wrong.
The best part is? She's been lifting up my friends too. My long time best friend was in a pit of his own. She sent a messenger into his dreams, a black-haired fox with red and green eyes named "Stella", he spoke to her every night for a couple years. Slowly, everything about his life started righting itself. The warring between his parents decreased, and when they do, he said it doesn't hurt the same way it used to. His view of the world cleared up and he found a path to his lifelong goal as a musician, one he has sailed through seemingly effortlessly as of late. According to him she doesn't show up anymore, but he hasn't needed her to either. Another friend lost his way in life entirely. He was coached out of suicide and found his way into the Phillipine army instead by a fox of pure gold, I never got the fox's name from him since he went to boot camp shortly after I found out. Hoping whomever the fox is, can help him survive the coming storm China is brewing.

After this battle: there will be no negotiations. no surrender.
After M2-XFE Part II: There will be no more battles. No war.
i beg to differ. once the wheels fell off of eve during m2 pt 2, goons had to maintain huge fleets in 2 places. one in their home system in case we invaded (not much of an invasion really, we were next door to them in t5z) and another fleet they had to have in m2 in case we tried a jail break of our titans that were stuck there from when the wheels fell off of eve. so that left us with freedom to reign down pain and take the entire region (scept for 1dq constellation of course) and all surrounding regions as well. the "ghost fleet" of titans stuck in m2 enabled us to do as we would anywhere we wanted..and we did. its fair to say that during the really big fights like m2, the fps was seriously lacking...1 frame every 20 seconds or so at times, but you do what you gotta do to have fights these days...especially the big ones.
Nono... (khm khm) "according to game rules, we won"
@@rickforespring4834 Whats the benefit of taking a region in a game like this? Why wage war of this magnitude of real world value?
@@QorvoAttano Good question. for me its simple....not about taking a region or glassing this place or that. when i began in eve, code was affiliated with goons. i started on a 21 day trial (thats the way you used to start in eve not alpha) and by the end of my first 10 hours or so, i subbed (subscribed) monthly and have ever since. shortly after that though, within a couple weeks, a code fartknocker ganked me in my new ship, a retriever that i had just built and then had the balls to try and extort from me! well i had no concept of game mechanics or that this was acceptable in eve, i only knew the rage i felt then and there. so the long story short of it is this. on my way to rage quit, i came across someone who told me to calm down, come with him to meet these guys he flies with and either join them or rage quit. that man was non other than void hawk. i obviously stayed in the game. next thing that stuck in my craw was when some higher muckymuck in goons made a public comment that went something like this " we're not here to ruin the game....we're here to ruin YOUR game". so fast forward to the war on goons in delve. i had just completed my first couple years in null and had a woppin' 100 kills on my zkill...almost laughable now right? i was headed to hisec to make sure all my stuff was secure and was going to take a few months (or a permanent leave of eve) off when my old ceo got a hold of me and asked if i wanted to kill goons with them. he further said we'd be going as an alliance of most of the alliances in eve against goons. so i said hell yeah! in 14 months of that war, my zkill went from 100 to 4400...all thanks to goons generously dying stupidly time after time after time. i'm not saying it was easy by any means. that kinda tidi will change most peoples minds about fighting. not me, i was in there whenever i could be and sometimes i shouldn't have been . lol
the reason i say its a good question is, everyone has a different reason for wanting these types of wars. some people really get into the lore, some folks remember the old big fights like br-. some just want content, whatever that is. call a fight a fight...not content lol.
what it actually came down to was goons had pissed off everyone else in eve and they all allied in the cause of bringing goons to their knees. at that we had success. but we couldn't manage killing off their last refuge which was the 1dq constellation. why not you might ask. simple, after m2 and what happened on that 2nd timer, we knew that ccp had no way to commit to having 20,000 players on one grid at the same time fighting. the wheels fell off ccp's best servers with just 8500 people on grid, ol' sparky would have had a heart attack if that fight had actually materialized. so ccp saved goons from extinction. will it happen again? maybe...who knows?
About the latter, it made me think about the infamous description sentence about WW1 :
"The war to end all wars."
Or in this case :
"The battle to end all wars."
"Every blinding flash would signal the death of a titan" nothing less than they deserve: Going out in a blaze of glory

Was really hoping to see another big battle like this before the war ended. Bummed Papi's last big push never happened.
I know, its unfortunate, but we saw what happened when we tried to cram 12000 system people into 1 system, it doesnt bode well for the attackers.
they were about to, but the problam was that all of goons were in the 1dq constelation, most of them in 1dq itself. test tried to take the constelation, but it was too laggy because goons would log in all their alts and undock and just stay outside station in tether with their fighters out to create lag. the only reason goons are still alive is cause of server limitations and cause of the patch that fucked TTT which ment that TEST income got severely reduced and they were relying on that to keep on with the war. I don't blame goons for playing the tidi game, but eve devs need to rethink the whole sov war because as it stands, it's pretty hard to kick out a big alliance fromt heir space. all they have to do is to baricade in a constelation and go farm with alts somewhere else.
