    Rich this is a gold mine of information in less than 20. Thanks so much for that. I just signed up for a GA Product management cert so not the best use of my time per your video, but will definitely try my best to focus on case studies. And will definitely be reaching out to you as I move through the program and head towards the finish line.

    I studied 1,000’s of questions in the army. I can remember them. Lol. I like the idea of doing case studies. What sites would you recommend for intro to case studies? I’m finishing my last four classes in business administration. I have five years in manufacturing as operations and maintenance management. I believe that I have skills that translate over based on this video. What sites would you recommend besides your own for case studies?

    • @ProductGymPM
      @ProductGymPM  Pƙed 2 lety +2

      Thanks for commenting, Patrick! It sounds like you're well set up for a transition into product management. When it comes to case studies, we definitely think the best way to learn and improve is by doing, and really immersing yourself, rather than by studying. We do have a bank of case study question prompts on our blog and some examples on our CZcams channel, but other than product gym, Exponent is great, and many of the instructors here at PG recommend Product Hunt (www.producthunt.com/) for getting immersed in the product management space! Hope this helps :)

    How to deal with Qs related to PM subject like Prioritization, Strategy if we don’t have enough experience in PMgt ? But they still ask those Qs

    • @ProductGymPM
      @ProductGymPM  Pƙed 2 lety +4

      This is a great question!
      Always speak with confidence even if you have no experience in those areas. And make sure to do your proper research on the role you’re going out for.
      When there are gaps like the ones you mention, try to draw on parallel experiences where you’ve had to deal with similar contexts. Frame your past experiences in a way that will be relevant to what your interviewer is asking you to avoid the dreaded ‘I don’t know’.
      In the end, it all comes down to practice. So the more you interview and answer questions you have little experience about the better you’ll get at answering them!

      thanks for commenting! Definitely a few things we can help you with in terms of case study practice: first off, I'd recommend checking out our Case Study playlist (czcams.com/play/PLmegXNYMvUjOj9aOxjt14UaBtRTT_UnfK.html) as there are a few videos that solve specific prompts that you can work alongside for practice, as well as some great tips and resources unpacked in other videos there :) But also, if you're after a list of case study prompts, we created a free resource for that too! Here it is: bit.ly/3S8VBtZ These prompts were shared by Product Gym members from real case study interviews. Hope this helps!

      hey Yashada, thanks for commenting! We definitely recommend surrounding yourself with a community of like-minded peers who will help support you as well as hold you accountable on your job hunt. That's one of the foundations of our program: our community is especially valuable when it comes to cracking down on case studies. If you're interested in having that strong support system, I would definitely recommend reaching out to our admissions team to see if the PG community is a fit: productgym.io/schedule/

    • @ProductGymPM
      @ProductGymPM  Pƙed 2 lety +1

      Thanks for commenting, Pat! It is definitely possible to get a PM job from Nigeria. Rather than your location, the biggest factor is going to be your work history/professional background, and your mindset. If you want to chat more about that, give us a call! Once we hear a bit about where you're coming from professionally, we can help you out with more tailored advice :) Find a time that works for you here: productgym.io/schedule/ or shoot us an email!

      hey Pat! As much as we would love to, Product Gym isn't able to help everyone. • @ProductGymPM

      Thanks for commenting! As a fresh grad, there are a few different paths that you can take to get into product management, like going after an internship first, the APM route, or going straight for a PM role. Which one is right for you going to vary greatly on your existing skillset, work experience, and a whole lot of other things... there's no *one* right path! If you want to chat about this with a coach, I'd definitely encourage you to schedule a call with us :) (productgym.io/schedule/) we can get you much more fitting, tailored advice once we know a bit more about your specific situation. I hope that helps! - Mack
