  • Univ. of Idaho President Scott Green said the King Road house where four college students were killed last year needs to be demolished before the trial of suspect Bryan Kohberger, saying it is to "allow the collective healing" of the community. But criminal justice experts say the move is a mistake if the jury wants to view the crime scene or if questions arise in the prosecution's case against Kohberger. *** PLEASE SHARE THIS VIDEO ****

There were so many security red flags. Lack of window curtains, being just one. This is bizarre because the university wants it torn down yet it's the scene of a major crime that has yet to go to trial and one in which the FBI just returned there to do further investigation after the earlier time frame to demolish the property was delayed. So what happens if the prosecution presents evidence or information at the trial not known to the defense and the defense team wants to return to the crime scene for further investigation like the FBI did, but the property is no longer standing? Similar in the Alex Murdaugh case.

There is absolutely no substitute for the jury visiting the crime scene ~ no model, video, or photos compare remotely to seeing the house and grounds and ingress / egress. Chris, I’m not sure you’re correct that the court lacks authority to order the scene’s preservation, but with no opposition from the defense or state to the demolition, the court is not going to because the court isn’t a party “advocate.” The fact that the DA isn’t opposing the scene’s destruction worries me hugely for the road ahead. There were so many blunders in the beginning from them (and police - like declaring there was ‘no threat’ when they had no idea who killed the kids). It makes me wonder if they have serious trial experience or are bothering to seek advice from more experienced death penalty prosecutors. It’s mind boggling that they’re okaying this. ~ Thanks for what you do! Please bring Gary & Ann back soon. :)

Look at the jurors from the Murdaugh case. I think the site visit cinched the verdict

I believe 2 or 3 jurors that spoke after verdict said (paraphrased)after visit they were convinced of Murdaugh's guilt.
Who would want to even live on that site if they tear it down and build apartments. Not me, nor would I let my kids going to school there. It will be a generation or two before that site loses its stigma. Just my opinions.

@@tonystevenson26 me too. One of the scariest books and movies I've ever seen and I thought Steven King was scary.

The house should stand until the trial concludes. Taking the house down will not erase the awful things that happened at 1122 King Rd. Nothing ever will. This town and university will be forever linked to these brutal murders. There will be TV shows and movies made about what happened there. Remember the Amityville Murders ? So do I. They can't restore the image of the town by tearing down that house, but they can help to ensure the victims get justice by leaving it up for a relatively short time, until justice is served.

How would Scott feel if it were his young adult who died there? Or if it were his young adult who was accused?

To me, it wreaks of a cover up. I have seen a lot of cases as an average viewer but have never in all my years seen the secrecy level intertwined within this case. The house should stay but it won’t. Such stupidity to not keep it up. Shame on the Chapins too. Yes, I said it! I mean what is 6-8 more months of keeping it standing. It makes no sense!!

      Exactly
They are many homes that stay so something is up with this case
      Whose the father
      Of the guy arrested?

Shame on them. As part of alumni families of my kid’s colleges, if this was one of them I would be having a little campout in front of that flag.

With that kind of psycho response, perhaps Scott Green should be considered a suspect. Since he grew up in that house, he certainly would know his way around it even with all the lights out. Also since he would have been approaching from the rear of the house, he would not have been able to see that there was 5 cars in the driveway.

This house used to be three separate apartments
So the house is very different today than it was back then

It's because Mr. Green is uncomfortable that it is comibg down. Suppose the defendant walks. The possibility of trying someone else is gone.

I agree. Why were the Bodies of Tylee and JJ denied burial for so long? Evidence
