Grandmother, aunts or cousins ?
The grandmother made Jenn kick Sterns out and wasn’t allowed to live with him. This was income property bought by the grandparents for Jenn to live in and raise her young child. As both he and Jenn avoided the grandmother id wager she didn’t care for him. Jenn made Maddie lie about Sterns sleeping there. Unfortunately it sounds like this poor girl had to carry a lot of secrets.
@@lisasmith7066seems no one really tooled after MS with consistency and level of monitoring was poor. Someone should have stepped in and recognized how limited Jen S was and her poor care of MS, mom didn’t even go to school/parent meetings, sends her to be with grown and bizarre man regularly and no supervision of what is going on in the girl’s life. MS was failed by many people and even her school

My thoughts? This world is not a safe place for so so many children:(( i am 62 and live with some brain damage from what my neurologist says “ repeated childhood head trauma “ kids need to be protected!

My "kids" are in their 20s and I don't have grandkids yet (and that's ok with me for now.) One rule I reversed so my kids could better understand was to make sure they can always see me, instead of telling them to stay where I could see them. This put it in their minds to look for me. Worked here at home when they were playing outside (yes, I was outside with them) and when we were in stores and they wanted to look at other things.
A tip I heard recently was to tell kids that an adult will never need the help of a child. If an adult asks a kid to come over and help them, that's reason for the kid to go the other way toward safety. Just changing the wording so the kid knows what to look for is easier for them to comprehend and follow. If someone has puppies to show them, Mommy wants to see too!!! Get Mommy first. Like that.

I had a password for my children. Thankfully, it was only needed once when I needed emergency care and a friend had to collect my son from school.
With regards to using a restroom, I recall taking my son aged about 3 into the Ladies with me as my husband wasn't there. A lady complained to me saying that I should have sent him into the Gents alone. No way!
Hi! 29 year old here. Thank you for the safety tips at the end. I work with children and you see all types of stuff when it’s pick up time. That password idea is simple but genius.
This case breaks my heart. Maddie was let down on so many fronts. Her diagnoses were likely related to trauma- related mental and physical impact. It was used as a way to explain away her potential so she had no chance. It's so frustrating to hear this all after the fact. I feel so deeply for her and hope she gets justice. At least she is now remembered across the world but I'd have preferred to not know about her and that she lived to create a wonderful life. Awful outcome in the end.
I think they also made up symptoms to obtain prescriptions…that THEY abused
On the phone maps, red/pink pings are suspect’s ( SS) phone, light purple pings are victim’s (MS) phone, and light blue pings are mom’s (JS) phone. Also note the dates, it shows where everyone’s phone were and how they moved starting the evening of the birthday party.
Truly a heartbreaking case. Thank you for covering it. I think she has received more love from the podcast creators, and the people that listen to it that she did in her own family.

Following. I had to take a break this Sunday as the Report is so utterly heartbreaking and horrific. Needing to protect my PTSI from the job. The Police Department did a fantastic job with this case in all aspects. Hats off and such a extremely vast difference from the BK/Idaho case however I will keep my opinion to myself.

Jealous of what? MS was a nothing to her, she was struggling in school, never looked well kept, don’t believe she consistently tested her ADHD or regularly medicated her and know she made no efforts to get modifications in school program to help MS with learning deficits. Jenn S wasn’t jealous just absurd, JS didn’t care one bit about MS

It does seem he referred to a time when his nonsense with the phone was discovered, and the child was blamed. Jennifer talked about it too. Why not act then? And angry parents sometimes say you have to move out as soon as you're old enough, but the word 'disown'? To a child of 12 (or younger)? The implication is she was ashamed of her. Was this poor little sweetheart being blamed for appearing flirtatious or sexually precocious? Why wouldn't she be? It really does literally make you feel sick to your stomach, not just because of disgust, but when you're imagining the fear and rejection.
Worst mother been seen in a long time! Cared zero about child and put her in harms way opposite of what a parent is entrusted to do
There has to be a law where they keep these RSO in jail until they're old, Judges have to stop letting these POS out of jail. If people really want to protect our children we have to pass tougher laws so they can't get out after a year or four years, they have to keep them in prison. If we don't, this will never stop.
So sad that no one at school noticed something was wrong, she was failed overall. Exactly Chris, No need to walk on egg shells.

Chris and Karen, thank you for giving so much of your time, heart, and effort into reporting these crimes and helping us all understand the documents. Madeline Soto's location is an area I know well. I live near Tampa, but I spend I spend a lot of time around Orlando visiting my extended family. I probably spend more of my life on I-4 through the Disney exits than I do in any one city. That is exactly the stretch of I-4 where the red tower pings were on the map. It gave me a very eerie feeling.
I am just so sorry for all the bad things that happened to this little girl no child should have to go through what Madeline go through and as a mother of a son and two granddaughter I feel really sad of what happened to a beautiful girl like that I love children so much in such a way that every time I think of what happened to this child my heart pains me thinking how could someone be so heartless my God will take care of Maddie she is free from now from such wickedness God have little Maddie across the bridge where there will be no more pain nor sorrows she is in the beauty of heaven at her young age where else would she be she was killed by a monster and God take her out to be at peace

His attorney might be able to cloudy the waters on pings, but not the car gps and video cameras on street and stores that corroborate the pings.

I believe her friend from school said she confided that her monthly flow was late. I have heard a couple times. Might be something to check on.

So unsettling that there are freaks out there like this
And maybe go undetected for their entire lives
SS had no problems manipulating JS or his parents who paid all his tickets for multiple speeding tickets and SS never really worked on regular basis

It’s possible she was drugged and not deceased in the car and he put her in the trunk only after he killed her.
Sedated, then finished off at the location they found her body. That would explain the cadaver dogs not hitting on his car

this poor little girl lost her life inside her house I think because one of her shoe was left inside the house.
I absolutely agree with you regarding the croc. Wasn't the other one found in the bin along with her laptop ect? Did her mother see her killed or did she take part? The mothers saying "we took her" and then saying she didn't is giving me a thought that she was involved with Madeleine being killed.
