Madeline's body was found in a grassy area in Osceola County in February and two months later Sterns was arrested. Sterns also faces 60 charges for sexual battery and molestation. Sterns is the boyfriend of Madeline's mom, Jen Soto.

I totally agree! Nothing they have said or done is normal. After I heard she would sent her teen girl to sleep with this monster just because she needed space... she shouldn't be called a mother.
I watched a “body language expert” video analyzing her and the boyfriend’s behavior in the footage and everything about him was suspicious but everything about her was “normal”. BS, she was afraid the police were going to catch on to them, she wasn’t worried one bit about poor Madeleine.

Two red flags that made me sit up…a) Mom’s bright and breezy answer of the Principal’s call, including “I’m fine, how are you?!”…and b) When the officer got a call from his supervisor and there was a bit of confusing back and forth about having a kid or looking for a kid, Mom looked very nervous…like fear nervous. It immediately made me wonder if it was fear that her daughter’s body had been found.

Having 3 daughters I find this individual abhorrent. The sense of what the poor wee lass had to live with is just heartbreaking. Is there any limit to the horrific things these men will do to innocent young children?

I’m sorry but I strongly disagree about this woman being worried about Maddie, in any way. She is, however, quite worried about herself and her “partner”. You don’t find it peculiar that Jenn’s mother is offering no comfort to Jenn?? Look at the faces of the family. They know what Jenn & Stephan are.

Yeah no reason why the mom should be parroting his story if she's innocent, she should be free flowing information from her own narrative of what happened but it's too rehearsed
I was a victim of se at a young age and then a victim of abduction tat 10 yrs old .He grabbed me and not my girlfriend. Counselor explained i looked the most vulnerable and carried myself like that .Abducter was able to read that in a manner of second s so grabbed me .Do lucky to be alive today .Thank god my girlfriend s grandfather was a sheriff and was living close by .We were in a park in a small community. This man had escaped and stole a rifle from a barn and made his way to the park .

Took her forever to find a photo of her child on the phone.
He is sizing up the officers for any sign that they are suspicious of either of them, particularly himself.
There is video out there where he says “we” dropped her off that morning. Mom seems very sus because of everything she has said. As a mother, at this point, I WOULD BE HYSTERICAL.
I once lost sight of my blind dog for 20 minutes. He froze and wouldn’t respond to me. By the time my mom came to help me look, I was dry-heaving with tears and snot on my face. I can’t imagine how I would be about a child. I know with the “code Adams” I’ve been a part of while working retail, I’ve at least felt more anxious than Jen seems. I’m in my 30s and still get anxious when I hear that code.
How would that help the situation?
it’s a crime to not only put your child in a bed with your up until recently ex boyfriend but to confuse the child on issues of protective behaviours and right and wrong. Jen’s behaviour goes far beyond stupidity into culpability. She lied about seeing her in the morning and about dropping her off at school and in so doing she misled police and shielded Stephan who used that time to try to erase evidence of his prolific abuse of Madeline. Think where would justice for Madeline be if Stephan knew how to properly erase his images.
Jenn deserves to be in prison for the rest of her days

I noticed as soon as the officer walked in initially, Jen immediately started her story smh didn’t even say she couldn’t find Maddie just that she was dropped off near school SUSPICIOUS
And the way she looks up at the ceiling when talking is exactly what children do when they fib and think they are about to get in trouble .... So disturbing
I’m wondering why the school did not notify the family early in the day that Maddie was not in school that day. The schools here notify you if your child is absent.

The school considers a student absent when a half day of school or more is missed. The teachers would tally up those missing and give the list to the office and the office then messages parents. However, the school is changing this bc of all the complaints.
The schools here send an automated message out about 2 hours after the start of the school day. That's late, IMO...no message till after school hours have already passed is inexcusable.
The fact, that he pushes his reset button on his phone on the day she "disappeared".
I can definitely see his behavior. Since the mom has said she allowed him to sleep with her and Maddie and even asked him to go to sleep with Maddie In another room, I don’t think she is innocent of the abuse!

The one thing that really stood out to me was when he said she was sleeping most the way…. and then went to use the reporters description of “was she happy”? and he said yep happy, she just turned 13. What hormonal 13 year-old is going to go straight from sleeping in the car ride to happily skipping along her way within seconds? Not even a possibility!

How long did it take him to come up with a story about not going all the way to the front of the school drop-off where the cameras are. He knew where the cameras are.
Am I the only one who thinks it’s super creepy when Sterns corrects mom’s answer of 110# to the officer? Sterns pipes up and says over both of them “….112 pounds”. 🙄😵💫

Every time Stephan lied to the reported, his eyes were partially closed downwards. He would not look directly at the reporter during the lies.
Even mom's facial expressions concern me. Looks like she's always reading the room. I fear mom knows exactly what happened
The only good thing I can say is that Madeline was found, and the perpetrator is in custody. Had Sterns not had a flat tire, he may have disposed the child where no one would find her. But, I would think his cellphone would have still be seized, and the truth would still be known.

What I see is him pretending to be sad and preoccupied for Maddy. But Mom acts like she is not very bright and is having a lot of anxiety with all the movements side to side.

You are the best! What I found extremely uncomfortable was when police asked Sterns about distinctive marks on her body and he went off to talk about her beauty mark. That was very telling and uncomfortable. He was obsessed with this little angel.

And I don’t know what’s going on with the mom, I don’t feel bad for her, what kind of mother lets her little girl sleep in the same bed with a grown man? That’s sick. Shorts to school it started with black pants. Who sends a kid to school with shorts what was the weather.
SS made sure to mention that Maddie was asleep the whole ride, just in case it is brought up that he was seen with Maddie in his car. She was gone already. Happy he is in prison. I hope he gets the DP, and prison justice while he waits.

I thought it was interesting that he was at the birthday party but when the cop asked for a photo of Maddy, he didn’t even attempt to get his phone out to look for one. He let mom scroll and scroll to find one. He was at the party…you would think he would have a photo of her turning 13, that he could pull right up and hand over. He never touched his phone.

When he told the cop or maybe the detective later that he dropped her off and she looked fine as I drove off. That was the moment I knew he unalived Madeline.

I believe where the officer started to pick up that something wasn’t right, was why this took so long and was a priority 3 .. but also when he asked her if she had any devices and she goes ‘I have her phone, she didnt take it with her today.’ I know many will think she’s 13 that maybe mom didn’t allow her to take it, but how she said it makes me believe she does allow her to take it .. and for a 13 year old to leave their phone is weird
