    Indian Wells 2017 is one of the most amazing performances I’ve ever seen from Federer, particularly against Nadal. The neo backhand and the confidence he had coming off the AO final made him pretty much unstoppable that day. Amazing that Stan the Man was the only guy who even managed to break his serve in the entire two weeks!

      I was in the stands for that match, and I can say that Federer was dominant. Nadal was sharp, but not fast or aggressive enough to overpower Federer.

      @@matteo964 Matteo I think he was, but Federer and Nadal were much closer than 2011, they had less troubles in the off-season preparation and also they were accustomed with Nole's upgrade from the year before. 2012 was really one of the best years ever for tennis, all the big 4 were supreme and doing wonders. Much better than the Federer's dominance years and also the actual ones, in my opinion

      @bogdan Petrovic he definitely was, I think. Don't underestimate him. He was simply too good in 2011 and way more offensive than 2015 when he was more solid. But his level didn't drop at all in 2012, IMHO Roger and Rafa got at his level because they acknowledged him as a true number 1

    I just love how Federer’s facial expression has stayed the exact same over nearly 7 years. Every single point, every astounding winner, he just looks completely unfazed. As Jim Courier once said, he’s like, “yes, I know I’m the greatest.”

      In the second he went off a while, like he used to do a lot back in those years (2009-13).

    As a Nadal fan I'm impressed how Federer come back in h2h in last 6 years 2015-2020 with 7-1 he doubled his victories and dominated Nadal in every "non-clay" surface

      From year 2015 till date , federer has 7 matches win against nadal & only 1 loss in clay in very windy conditions. Now from year 2021 till next 3 years, hope he will win every match against novak & h2h record against him will become more in his favour.

    Hambourg 2007 could have made the list. Yes Fed started slowly and lost the first set 2/6, but from then on, he crushed the Spaniard 6/2 6/0 on clay! That ended a 81 match winning streak on the surface for Nadal and was his first clay court final defeat.

    What surprises me is the lack of celebration after the WTF final win. He had just beaten Rafa 6-3,6-0, and yet he looked like he was not done. When his head was seriously in the game, Federer undoubtedly was the best player

    Haven't seen that form since 2012. He used to hit any shot in any manner. Unpredictable, almost as if he was always lucky but he was so consistent in it that it all seemed effortless and unreal yet truem

      @Logan Legend 2017 was ruthless but still very human. Precise and powerful. But it wasn't exactly Federer finesse. His godly devine presence and perfection vanished around 2011-2012. In 17 his game was different, i won't say better than his old game. He would have won against Rafa any given day had he not been afraid of Rafa (except for Roland Garros matches)

    Novak had an outstanding 2011 season. This would've been the icing on the cake to end the year on a high.
    Nevertheless Federer played outstanding in the atp 2011 finals. Can't take that performance away from him.

    You can really appreciate the pure talent of feds tennis now he’s been out of the game and nadal and djoker are cleaning up slams just how good he was from the AO inparticularly, the way he was winning these guys just tennis perfection no messy shots or grinding out points just clean winners from everywhere and so effortlessly, truly the best to ever do it imo

    Federer and Dhoni are the same. They both look so confident while playing. They both maintain cool under all circumstances.
    They both never over-celebrate.

    I watched the nadal vs fed atp 2011 game live on TV - it was a group match I'm sure. Fed was clinical throughout and nadal kept fighting for every point - even at 5-0 in the second set as a fed fan I could not feel 100% comfortable probably 90% as nadal was moving and playing well even to the last point but simply outclassed! Defo no excuses could be offered from nadal on this one.

    I wish that Federer would beat Novak one last time at a GS. Those tough losses since 2010 (US Open 10, 11 and 15, Wimbledon 14 and 19) have been devastating to watch.

      Unpopular but djckovic is a better grass court player than federer which means hes better than federer on every surface hes already greatest hard court player of all time and on clay djockovic way better than Fed hes beat a prime nadal consistently on clay and in 2016l5 even though nadal was jurt he beat him

      @@James_utd123 Federer is by far the greater grass player, and it's not even close. 19 titles vs 6, 8 Wimbledon vs 5, 12 Wimbledon finals vs 6. Win percentage 87.4% to 84% and Fed's won more grass matches than Djokovic and Nadal combined. Just because peak Djokovic beat a very old/mid-late 30s Fed at Wimbledon (& only just) doesn't make him the better grass court player. In fact, Fed schooled Djokovic when he was #1 & defending champion at Wimbledon in 2012, when Fed was closer to his best, but still not at that level.

    People talking about Novac being GOAT. He may end up with more wins eventually but he is considered by many as a boring player. Much like Mark Selby in the snooker world who will play the same drawn out defensive game to grind opponents down. You can't deny he's good at what he does but people will always dismiss him as the greatest and favour Federer purely because he was more graceful to watch, had an endless amount of "one off" shots, sportsmanlike and had so much more talent in general.

      Nadal and Djokovic only have a one-year difference.
      Novak rose to dominance at the beginning of Federer's decline. To me, Djokovic is not better in terms of skills, but in terms of speed. Of they were the same age, I believe Federer would be better.
      For Nadal, I less convince Federer would be that better. But he would have been more physical for sure.

    Roger is the goat. There are so many variables I factor in. Imagine if Roger switched his racquet 5-7 years earlier when his coaches told him to do that. Even Novak and Rafa switched there racquets. Out of all three, playing their highest level, Roger all day. If Roger isn't spraying the forehand and serving his best, he's unbeatable.
