The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the year and takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The 2021 US Open saw Russia's Daniil Medvedev and Great Britain's Emma Raducanu claim the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first major title, with 18-year-old Raducanu becoming the first-ever qualifier to achieve the feat. The 2022 US Open main draw is scheduled to go ahead between August 30 - September 11.

Roger Federer's prime started in 2003 and lasted through 2009. That's seven years where he won 15 major titles. In 2010 he won the Australian Open where he played incredible tennis. The Australian Open 2010 was the last major of Federer's prime. After that tournament he started a very slow decline which saw Federer lose some foot speed and more importantly mental confidence and toughness in the biggest and most crucial moments of tennis matches. During this time of Federer's decline was also the rise of Novak Djokovic coming into his prime years. They are exactly six years apart which makes a big difference in tennis. Novak Djokovic is going to be remembered as the most successful tennis player that has ever played the sport. He's got the most major titles, the most weeks ranked #1, the most year end #1's, tied with Federer for most Masters Cup titles, has the most Masters 1000 titles, and has won the Djoker Slam in 2016 where he won FOUR major titles in a row. He's also won three of the four majors in a year for a record 4 different years (2011, 2015, 2021, 2023) which might be the most unbelievable stat in all of his records. Roger won three of the four major titles 3 different years (2004, 2006, 2007) and also won the Masters Cup in all of those years. These two guys in my opinion are the top two Greatest Players of All Time with Rafa coming in right behind them at #3. However, if Rafa can come back in 2024 and win a major or two then I'd put him above Federer at #2. As for now though my list looks like this.
    1. Novak Djokovic- (holds most records and most successful player ever and has the greatest longevity ever).
    2. Roger Federer- (most loved and revered player in history, and has the highest level of play in history during his prime years 2003-2009. Also, the most talented tennis player to ever play the sport).
    3. Rafael Nadal- (greatest clay court player and most dominant one surface player in the history of tennis. Also the greatest fighter the sport has ever seen).

I agree with you overall. Federer in his prime played better than any player before or after him. He had the best technique, best style and was very effective. Prime Federer in his tournament Wimbledon was the best thing to ever happen in tennis. It's why so many people, including me, admire Federer.

I watched this match live and it was amazing how Federer just dominated from start to finish; just never really had the sense that Djokovic had any chance at all.
If someone had told you then that Federer would never beat Djokovic in Flushing again, no one would have believed it (although of course he came excruciatingly close twice).

You can see that the explosiveness that Federer possessed in his prime to end points quickly declined after 2010. That's why Djokovic and Nadal won more after 30, especially Novak who relies more on consistency.
Federer's gamestyle is difficult to maintain well into your 30s, but he was still pretty succesfull with it after 2010. And with a one handed backhand as well. Pretty remarkable.

well that just proves what everybody already knows... Federer was always bad to adapt to circumstance. @Sleepy Joe LOL. Fed fans are laughably delusional. All their arguments are based on IFs and BUTs. Federer suddenly was “past his prime” at age 28. But with Nole, he’s 35 and still in his prime according to these “fans.” Also apparently Fed just happened to be in his prime again in 2017 (definitely had nothing to do with Djokovic being injured that year 😂). A perfect example of this bias is the video “the day Federer outplayed a prime Djokovic.” They made a big deal of Fed beating Djokovic in late 2019 non major, where “prime” Nole is 32. Funny how Fed was apparently past his prime at 28 tho 😭

What a long way he had to improve then and boy did he do in a couple, maybe three of years later.

Is no one going to mention how this was the exact same score of the Wimbledon semi final between Djokovic and Shapovalov?
Edit: Also, the points won is very close between both matches.

Against such a in the dawn of strength and energy, a fast, attacking Federer who set the pace of attacks, Djokovic had almost no chances, even the optimal Djokovic in his best form. We can see perfectly well that in this match everything depended on Roger, whether he would hit or make a mistake, if Roger hit from the 1st ball, the result was almost a foregone conclusion. Djokovic looked like an extra here. Djokovic turned the situation around only after 2010, when Roger began to give up due to age, and lost noticeably in speed, the pace of his attacks noticeably decreased, this was evident even in the memorable match of Wimbledon 2019. Unfortunately, this was not the same Roger Federer as before, with his lightning attacks.

Hahahahaa all of you talking about Fed prime have absolutely no idea! He said himself that 3 of them pushed each other to be better and better and that he played his best tennis in 2010s.
Prime is not when you’re winning but when you play your best! Nole beat both Nadal and Federer and his prime was in either 2011 or 2015.
But you keep on talking about prime Fed beating 3rd lvl players 😅 Fed won 9 of his 20 slams in the pre-Big3 era!

Djokovic doesn't grunt in this match. Later in his career he started doing that. So he's capable to play without grunting, so he's using grunting as a way to cheat!!

2019 Wimbledon Finals...2 MATCH Points on Feds Raquet....CHOKES both of them away from Nerves...All Djoko had to do was get the ball over the Net and wait for Federer to Miss ROUTINE Shots...You could see how Feds Hands looked CRIPPLED during those 2 Points over being Nervous...Could be the most Devastating Loss in Tennis History...And i am a HUGE HUGE HUGE Fed Fan...Heartbreaker

Don't be sad, he has already won everything, don't forget that he has 20 grand slams+ broke Pete Sampras's record+ got 130 million dollars net worth+ considered a tennis God+ known globally as the most elegant who has ever played the game+ one of the wealthiest players on the planet+ has many fans world wide+ nike has a separate brand called RF which holds the first letters of his name+ RF is as successful as nike itself+ it is not important if he loses Wimbledon 2019.. He will not win everything.. What he achieved is more than enough
