There is a story behind minecraft, and a short summary of it would be. That there was an ancient civilization that used to live in the world of minecraft but they vanished. And you can find ruins around the world from them and they have also left behind music disks. They built the nether fortresses and the strong hold they also built this place call the ancient city that is buried deep under ground. It would be best if you watched game theories videos on it if you want more details all I did was go over the cliffsnotes @ChicagoReacts

i watched the original video and not even half way i was so pissed and annoyed at those idiots not at martin though i didn't finish the video
In the words of the T-Rex from Kung Fury "Teamwork. Is. Important!" This video tempted me to give Minecraft a try, but I can see it's a huge sprawling thing you have to invest years in and I just can't. I made a decision a long time ago to ignore it and I'm sticking with that.
It actually does not have that much time investment unless you give it to yourself. In terms of completing the game you could honestly do it in a day with even half decent talent at the game. You could certainly play for way longer by entertaining yourself with the other features of it, but most of those features are not essential to the minimal story aspect, they’re just there for the open worlders who like to build and create.
