It's probably not the fastest one but my work might entertain you. :)
I did that for fun and it was definitely worth it! ^^

Hi Blazingwheel! A tool-assisted speedrun is the result of a frame-by-frame playthrough by an advanced player (who knows the game very well). The process is relatively simple but very time consuming since you record each input (controller) you want for each frame (60 frames per second) and have to save/load until you're satisfied with the result. In this case, the combat with the mario brothers took me over 6 hours to record. I hope my answer will be of any help! :)

At the end it doesn't say congratulations it said incredible I didn't know it could do that 🤯

VikingPotatoes It's TAS, he didn't have to make reads, he could progress frame by frame and if he made a mistake he could revert and try again from a little bit before.

RORY759 Yes do actually. You have to gently press the analog stick in the direction you want to go. Emulators can't do that as the key press automatically slams the analog sick instead of pressing it.

on SSBM, i did a perfect ness, on very easy mode. (arcade). real time speed run.

At 5:21-5:22 why do you stop? You also stop after every jump. That's a good 2-3 seconds of time you could save.
it didn't look like he stopped, it was actually just the landing lag from doing a fast fall land, which is only 4 frames, which means total he wouldn't have wasted much time, maybe 15 frames at most if he didn't move as fast as possible afterwards, which is 1/4 of a second. But during the race to the finish section he could have gone a lot faster if he edge canceled some quick attacks to get to the edges where you jump. that would have actually saved him 4 seconds or so.
what cheap hits mean?
pretty sure that's the equivalent of 'stale moves' in the later games; ie, using the same move repeatedly.

I miss melee way to much right now;( I let one of my friends borrow it but he likes it to much he's too stingy to give it back ;) they really changed pikachu in melee and brawl.
