Well I guess I can't wait for Horizon Hobby to take more of my money...
Another great review from TwoBros.
I wasn’t really expecting this one, looks nice and affordable.
Lack of rudder is understandable but I would not expect a very wide flight enveloppe from a plane like this anyway.
It's a great little jet for the price point. Hard to believe it flies as well as it does given its scale.
I wish they would have done this 80mm but its a beautiful jet.
They might!
I would be happy with there twin 64mm set up! hope they do 1 or the other.
80mm from Horizon would be around $699 or $799 based on their current pricing point compared to others
They need to offer it to those who could afford it. They still can over a cheaper plane but give us the option to pay more to get more.
@@IceMan2035 podiam oferecer um com 2 metros com FPV 360° com óculos VR e alcance de 20km e também velocidade máxima de 150km/h.. faria ótimos passeios FPV
A most thorough and helpful review, as always Jon. Thanks. I maidened my Blue Angels 70mm Viper finally, with a Roaring Top 6s 3700 70c wt. 580g pushed all the way back for a neutral cg. Thanks to all your tips, it was a perfect Maiden and several flights after. Was sitting in a box for 2 years and you got me air bound!😊
That is awesome!
Wow, Habu. I was stationed on Kadena Air Force base from 1999-2002, part of the Navy's P-3 presence there. On Okinawa, Japan, the Habu snake is a cultural icon, and where the nickname for the plane was coined. Used much more widely when the plane was still active, I understand, (it was retired in 1989 well before I got there) I haven't heard it called anything but Blackbird since I PCS'd away from that wonderful little island.
Great job Jon on showcasing this new release! Top quality!!
Happy to help! We figured that showing off all of its flight characteristics would be valuable for people looking to buy it.
Good Stuff. For me, I think this is one of those planes that I would LOVE to see someone else fly, but I don't want one. I think it would be cool for a few flights but would then might get boring?? No rudder... boy I'm with ya there. The real one doesn't need one going Mach 3+, but at the RC field, I'd want a plane with a rudder. Great video never the less! Thanks for showing us this bird fly and for the great review! 👍
Great review. I'll be purchasing one.
Now this is sick! Can't believe it's real! Awesome review by the way and i will be ordering one asap. Hope a bigger model of the sr-71 will be released one day but this will do for now. The black bird is my favorite jet! Thank you horizon
Ordered … this looks sick!
Awesome review sir
I was shocked to see this bird, as if Horizon Hobby emulated skunkworks covert tactics in design and testing.
POOF! Here ya go kids.
I am not surprised to see this on Jon's Channel though, for sure I'm happy Horizon Hobby recognized Jon's methodic, reliable no holds review of just about every size make and model of bird out here.
Thank you Jon for your hard work albeit FUN hard work and thank you again Horizon Hobby for the little birdy!
I want more, paleez give the kids a UMX Draco for Christmas and send it to Jon without the H first. =)
3:02 mini cobra landing!
Good eye!
Alabama Has one at Huntsville Space Center out side One can Touch.
Get em while they last.
Damn, that landing at 2:49 was slick! Thing looks scary.
I'm definitely getting me one...😊
I preordered, but now my wife won’t speak to me. I told her it was a SR71, so I don’t know what her problem is.
😂
😂, she will get over it. As long as it may take to get it she will forget about it. Tell you got a refund. Tell her you found one used at a great deal. Like for 100. Dude was scared to fly it. Lol.. You may not get it till november or way later. It is preorder. So we know how that goes. Lol
amazing model! I think the gyro needs to be tuned i see alot of roll axis wobble. but with such small wing surface i dont know how they could improve it that much.
The wobbling is due to turbulence as we mentioned in the vid. Definitely isn't overcompensating. It won't wobble at all on a calm day.
oh gotcha.. watching muted at work :) dont tell my boss @@TwoBrosRC
So since we stuck on the wobbling which i can understand if flown in strong winds and around trees. Even larger birds dont like wind tubulance around trees and in a wind tunnel. So how strong were the winds? I liked the vid and thinking to order one. Thanks for making one and putting it up in the air showing us all what to expect in winds. Could had been a vid make on a calmer day or time of day.
We didn't have time to make a vid in calmer conditions. Winds gusted to 20ish MPH at one point.
I saw pilot Ryan flight this plane and I was not impress, but now I'am the way you flight it, more stable and true. Ok I like it.
Happy to help!
Would buy if it was bigger with retracts....
Hand toss it!
What video editor do you guys use for your videos? Great job on your videos.
DaVinci Resolve. Thanks!
Wassup with the HH voiceover😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What even is this supposed to mean?
You guys got lucky the flat spin landing was on the tall grass
Can you set up differential thrust and get some "rudder" back?
Unfortunately no, but it would be useful.
I wonder if you can improve the roll rate by hacking the receiver and mixing in the inboard elevators with the outboard elevons, to increase effective aileron surface area.
If anyone can figure that out, surely you can!
It's a locked receiver, so probably not.
why
just why
just when i bought the Eflite commander
dude just wait a bit,
my wallet needs a break
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
altho it doesn't have retracts and the size so i think i am good tho something like 65/70/80 mm would probably look awsome
i think the 65/70 mm would be the sweet spot
twins 50's are needed for using the wheels
It would definitely help.
Cmon high alpha
Nah. Can't really do that in a narrow corridor without rudders. It'll fly into the trees.
Can it fly slow at all or is it just the lack of rudder that's the issue?@@TwoBrosRC
It flies slow, but no rudder means no high alpha control.
It's a real wobbler..
In turbulence, but not in calmer winds.
@@TwoBrosRC And full throttle...
@@TwoBrosRC No rudder, wobbly flight chacteristic, narrow flight range of full throttle, hard to see, zero aeronbatical ability....do I need to continue????
And thank the Brother too, I'm sorry.
So sad how this channel was so amazing and innovative and now is absorbed by horizon. This should answer your whining about why your channel isnt growing as fast as you hoped. Welcome for the comment though!
Absorbed? What a silly take. We asked to work with Horizon. It's been a goal of ours since the channel was founded. We wanted to do what we always did, but with new releases. Do you even watch what we post? 😂
Here is a comment that you should welcome @happymcslappy3640: Get over yourself - Jon calls out HH issues all the time and calls the jets exactly like he sees them - if they are good he will say it - if they suck he will say it. There are only 3 primary manufacturers/brands of RC jets really so it is absurd to insult a channel from your mom's basement for posting a video about the pluses and minuses of a new jet from one of the 3 large manufacturers to hit the market. Also - he now has one of the biggest RC channels in the industry because he calls it like it is - so I am not sure bashing him from your mom's basement with your 2 followers for his measly 61K subscribers is the right move here.
Is there a speed test?
We don't really do that here.
@TwoBrosRC well the title says " ' The FASTEST Jet EVER, " so I would think that the video would atleast include a speed test
It's a reference to the full scale jet.
Well now that you know it’s durable, it’s time to bush fly it. Can’t wait to torture mine when I get it
Lol, bush fly, like when it flat spun into the grass.
Yet another disappointment from Horizon Hobby and another hard pass for myself! In my opinion they really missed the mark with this one by going with a twin 40mm setup when at minimum, it should have been a twin 64mm and preferably a twin 70mm.
They might consider making a bigger version if this one sells well.
@TwoBrosRC that's the bad part man, the concensus in the online forums and Facebook groups is people aren't interested in this size model, the actual jet yes, but the size no.
@steelrainfpv3383 I completely disagree, I love this size model. The only places where I live to fly larger models are AMA fields that are littered with 60-80 year old men that are fun police and completely ruin the hobby for me. So I only buy models that I can fly at local school/football fields so I can actually have fun while I'm flying, instead of listening to some old bag complaining that I'm not flying in the pattern. But hey to each their own
I don't know jon, been watching your videos for a while before the brothers thing..... i just don't get the point of this thing. I can appreciate the Sr-71 as a spy plane, but you... you aren't a fast circuit flyer.. many times ive watched you high alpha and cobra as well as flat spin...
But you do this review and it appears like its a sponsored score more than a jons performance score. My friend even hesitate to leave the comment in fear i get the Rc sailores response...
Regardless, appreciate your feedback... and your channel and understand why things are the way they are.. even if I am not sure about your score😮
Happy to hear you've been around since before we changed the channel name to recognize Tony, Jon's brother-in-law and best friend.
Did you see us cobra and flat spin this jet? Because we did it multiple times. Not sure what you're getting at there. Of course it's a sponsored video - HH sent it to us to provide you our thoughts on it. We were not asked to tell anyone anything or say anything at all, except to cover some points like the manual changes for ease-of-understanding. What you see in the vid is what we believe - we're not going to stake our reputation on an airplane provided to us by a company.
Not even sure what you're referring to by the Saylors. We don't mind dissent - everyone is welcome to make respectful comments. We called it a 9/10 because we review aircraft from the perspective of "What was this plane designed to do" - not "We wish it was a twin 70mm jet therefore it should be reviewed poorly."
Like it , the video too. Not like that fake, moronic , never reveal the details, laugh @ everything rc US based couple, which just post links of products to purchase items . If they could only Fly .......
80 or 90mm would've been nice at this size it looks like a toy
In its most literal sense, it is a toy. All RC planes are.
Sr71 is not the fastest jet in the world
OK, thanks for sharing.
