I have to say too, I watch a LOT of RC videos, and whoever runs your camera does a seriously excellent job. Knows when to zoom in, when to zoom out and keeps the plane in the center of the picture. Really well done.
You did an amazing job of flying what is typically a squirrelly airframe to fly. Definitely an iconic subject and as always you do it justice. Now if we could get one with these features in a nice 80 or 90mm 😉

Cool thing Jason M shared your video before release on RC Groups 😄 Definitely a cool plane, this was the ultimate jet, loved this as a kid and I still do. I do wish it had functional rudders, but for the size and price it's a great package, I do see myself getting one.
So far I watch 3 reviews, and you are the #4, I will said, even do the others are good pilots, I was not impress with the model at all, do to rocking wings in the others reviews, but now wow, this plane flew flawless, you are a super amazing pilot, this plane was dancing in the air with no rocking wings, and now, I will added to my fleet.

This is going to look sweet next to our F-14, now if Horizon would make the F-15 Eagle in Dark Gray where I could pop some SJ Air Force Base Insignia on to represent Semore Johnson AFB, living about 15 miles from SJAFB I get to see, hear and feel those beautiful Birds just about daily. Looks like a really well sorted model. Loved the high alpha passes! Definitely looks much better without the gear and this config would be how I'd use it, especially with launch mode available. Thanks for fighting Covid to get this out for us. Hope you feel better now (?).
Brilliant presentation, Adam, like always 😊! Love your scale takeoffs and landings and it s very interesting how you modulate throttle on landing. Not sure how the appearance of the bird is in person. On the video it is often just a black silhouette and as such rather boring. (Reminds me of a flying e-guitar 😂) Only at angles where the sun is reflecting and make the body appear 3D with shadows and gray scales, it is a real eye catcher.

But, I wouldn't subject that beauty to the "landings" I'm currently torturing my PA18 with 😅 Looked like you had fun with this one- Even with the sicky-icks. I've flown, sailed, driven all kinds of rc stuff. EDF, Is still something i have not tried. I want to, but for now just like watching videos on them. Cheaper that way. Ha ha

I was excited the second I saw the official Eflite new release vid pop up .. watched with excitement .. thought this is going strait on pre order .. then the price 😮 .. in uk it works out to near 350 dollars .. no bang for buck with such a small model I just purchased a 1/5 scale edf lightning at 100 dollars cheaper .. this sr71 model is long awaited but the price is the factor not Many brits will be too pleased by the huge overcost ..simply not enough foam for the money .. thanks for the very in-depth review but it’s far too expensive 👍🏻

Hey Adam, nice job! Who doesn't love a Blackbird?? Is it just me, or are the vertical fins a little oversize? Certainly this benefits from 4S power, but with time I've tried hard to reduce the number of dedicated batteries in my hangar. Hand launching looks good. I have paved runways at both my club fields, but fixed gear on this beauty just looks wrong. ;-) Keep it up, buddy!
Great plane thanks for sharing adam. I too think that this plane should be a speed demon like the real one. Nice to see horizon making affordable planes for us, but make the plane a little bigger with twin 50s and 2 escs. Run it on 2 batteries. I would pay 100 bucks more for that. Just my opinion. You did great reviewing what you got. I guess that was more for horizon than you. They listen too. Thanks.
Thanks Jay. Keep in mind bud, it takes all kinds. It is exactly what they intended - less expensive, compact, and simple. Also, often times they test the waters with a smaller project and then if it sells well...make a bigger version with more features.
Super cool all new plane from HH. Nice review. The question is when will it be in stock and when will it ship? The price point isn't to high for a twin 40mm. The history was very decent however I wished it had the Skunk from skunk works on the tail.
Does belly landing on grass cause some minor damage that would get worse over repeated landings? Such a beautiful model, I'd like to keep it as prestine as possible.

@@ModelAV8RChannel I hope you're feeling better Adam. As for the SR-71, most of the videos I've seen show some severe wing-waggle that AS3X doesn't even seem to keep up with. Also, it appears to get unstable if you don't keep it screaming. The tail-heavy nature adds another challenge too. Horizon put this plane at a Level 3 and I think that's a good warning to any pilots that aren't as skilled as you are. That being said, I ordered mine. But will most likely leave it static display, unlike the other 30 planes in my fleet.
@gmorphan To be honest, I haven't watched the other vids on it. The only time I experienced wing rock was when I got the angle of attack too high. Then it seems like the AS3X struggles to sort it. We did some pretty stable slow passes once I figured out how much I could get the nose up. It's different, but it doesn't seem to bite ya.

Yep sometimes the pricing and shipping in the UK is high. Hopefully they'll find a way around that.

With soft grass you should be okay. You can always put lightweight clear tape on the contact points on the bottom.
