Just ordered the two motor CamVac. Happy to hear that the collection is so good with the two motors running on the three motor unit.
Would be great @ethanswers to see some demos of 4" straight duct connected to the CamVac units.
Some fantastic insights on pipe size and how to problem solve. The noise reduction is more than I thought and the pressure release valve is genius. I now just need to hire you to come and help me for the weekend :).
Thanks for posting, a great system. I like the solenoid gates, that's really cool. Can't believe these cam vacs are made in Sheffield less than 20 miles from were I live, but the nearest stockists is 90 miles away. The Record Sabre 350 bandsaw is my next big purchase, I think the cam vac will be needed.
Looks like a great setup. Thanks for sharing! I am still dragging flex hoses around the shop, so need to do something like this!
Great set up!! I’m curious about your planer, what brand, model and year? It looks like an old tool that has been restored.
I have a 90L CamVac like David has shown and wondered what type/size of plastic barrel he used under the cyclone. So many choices out there but want to ensure the separator drum is robust enough for the high volume extraction of the CamVac.
Most plastic drums are fine but I would avoid fiber drums. An anti-crush valve is a great option to protect the drum though. czcams.com/video/SDsbtb5FlAQ/video.htmlsi=JbE-pSW7klTtR9OM
What kind of pressure drop did you have by adding the cyclone? Also, isn’t the Camvac already multi-stage?
I see that the iVac says to not exceed 3HP but in amps it still under the maximum allowed. Do you think there was a tweak he had to make?
Is the Camvac considered a high pressure high volume system
The Camvacs are considered high pressure/ low volume systems.
I just hooked up a 52” airplane blade to a 3 phase 30hp motor and point it out the garage door.. that setup works a charm but noise is an issue plus if you let go of any sander it will take flight.. had to call it quits when it started picking up squirrels.. painted my wifes windshield and she got a little punchy after that.. she never liked the fact that every time id turn it on all the doors in the house would slam shut and her ears would pop.. suckerd blow like a broadway whore with rent due..
Talking about the prop blade fan there. Not the wife.. everybody knows that stuff stops after the first year after the ring of bad luck goes on that finger..
They are telling me that all three motors aren’t meant to run at the same time, is that correct?
Incorrect.
@@jean-pascalbeaudoin7579 I know. They were trying to get out of honoring their warranty. Very condescending and uninformed. The dude told me there was no value or improved suction with 2 motors as opposed to three going. He obviously has never used one. He told me I should familiarize myself with the manual and machine which I was. As much as I love this thing and have praised it, I’m not sure I’ll buy another record power piece of equipment again. The Woodturning Store which is a distributor here in America were great to deal with. But this A-Hole in England just turned me off. I knew the answer but was seriously questioning what I know at 4am when this guy called
@@user-nx3zk5qi8toh man, sorry to hear this. It's the first time I hear of a bad experience dealing with the Record Power customer service. I mean, it's 100+ year company...
What size breaker and wire does it call for on the three motor unit?
I believe we did a 40amp breaker. Not sure what size wire we did. I know it’s a 250v twistlock plug and I just put an adapter on it.
