Silencing loud things (part 1)

I´m building a soundproof enclosure for a good but noisy shop vac, including a soundproofed ventilation. The concepts of isolating and dampening noise may be applied to other use cases too, e. g. compressors, generators, computers, even drums and musical instruments, if you build the enclosure bigger (and add a door and a window).

It will be really interesting to see how this works out. Dennis, from the CZcams channel 'Hooked on Wood' has developed a really effective solution to this problem. If I remember correctly he was also using the same vacuum system as yourself. Keep up the great work.

In my opinion noisereduction is a very underrepresented field on CZcams and a very underestimated in general.

I have the same extractor and find that using the exhaust pipes quietens it down considerably and would work out cheaper than this too, you only need to buy one and cut it in half. Talk about over engineered project that wasn't actually needed.
