    Yesterday I changed that resource, it was broken into 3 pieces, along with that, I changed the governor, pressure sensor, filter and everything else without removing the valve body... the only thing I noticed abnormal was the broken spring... Today it was driving very well, the changes felt smooth and it had super strength when starting... but after about 20 miles it went back to how it was before... again going from P to D hard hit, from 0 to 100 very slow and it already ran out of power again... I would like to know what would happen? If the resource broke again?

      Did you replace with OEM Mopar sensor? If so, then check if the fluid level is correct. Sometime low fluid after a change will do harm. Check fluid level while engine is running.

      @@DIYWithIndi Thank you very much for responding... I bought a kit on Amazon... so do you think it's because the selenoid is not Mopar?

    • @DIYWithIndi

      @@richardgarcia4843 Possibly. I always recommend changing with OEM Mopar parts for sensitive electronics in Jeep. You will find the links on the video description.

    The best thing you an do 42re add. A transmission cooler

    • @DIYWithIndi
      @DIYWithIndi  Před 4 lety

      Trevor, my 2001 Jeep WJ has a small transmission cooler that came with it from factory. I did not have any issues for almost 20 years now that I have owned this Jeep since new, except needed to change the solenoid once. I had more trouble with the radiator fan relay going bad and both the engine and transmission heated up multiple times. Switched to a clutch fan (czcams.com/video/5rmZZHRozEg/video.html). But surely a bigger trans cooler will help when towing.

      Indi have you installed a temperature gauge,that’s the only way you can tell how well your transmission cooler is working.

    • @DIYWithIndi
      @DIYWithIndi  Před 4 lety

      Hi Tevor, no, I do not have a transmission temp gauge. I have to keep an eye on the engine temp gauge and hope that the new clutch fan keeps it cooler.

    Hello! Thanks for the great videos! I have a 4.7 WJ, not sure if they have the same transmission. Ive been experiencing weird things with the transmission. At first, when going from park to drive it'll jerk a bit then normal. Then when accelerating slmetimes the shifts slip (like if a clutch was being used). Then when coming to a stop just before stoping theres a big jerk. Not sure if you could help with giving me your opinion? Thanks again!

      Hi Pato, Shifting issues at low speed may be due to faulty solenoid. You may want to replace the transmission solenoid and fluid to start with if it has not been done recently. Take a look at my other video - czcams.com/video/P42z4vqnlsA/video.html though this one is for 42RE transmission.

      Check your fluid levels. Add Lucas trans fix. These jeeps are known to burn trans oil

    I have an 04 grand cherokee laredo 4.0 with the 42re.. It was sitting for a year or more before I got ahold of it, it has 224k on the clock, I did some minor engine repairs, new plugs, oil change, drove it for fresh gas and it seemingly did fine.
    The next day I got in to go get some more parts for this weekend and I put it into gear and it wouldn't move.. Breaks aren't seized, The fluid (at operating temp) seems to be overfilled, With bubbles in it. Does not smell bad.. Seems to go in and out of drive, park, reverse no issues! Just won't move like its slipping.. The day before when I drove it it had no signs of failure.
    You think fresh fluid, filter will help? Or are my problems deeper? I appreciate any input

    • @DIYWithIndi
      @DIYWithIndi  Před 4 lety +1

      This is a tough one to diagnose without looking at the Jeep. Does it jerk when you shift the gear from park? Can you move it with shift and transfer case in neutral and pushing it with engine off? You may have to remove the transmission pan and check the bands. Sorry not much help.

      @p_3_n_n_y Před 4 lety

      @@DIYWithIndi Oh no, I appreciate it! It goes park, reverse, neutral, drive, and goes through the 4wd high and low just fine! I'm hoping with a new filter, some fresh atf4 it'll come to life

      @@p_3_n_n_y It is a bit strange that it ran the other day without issues and is not moving now. Is the check engine light on? You may want to rule out electrical issues, check the fuse and relay (TCM). Might be a bad solenoid as well (czcams.com/video/P42z4vqnlsA/video.html

    I couldn't help but cringe every time you used that drill 😣😖😵‍💫
    But your shifts are too soft in the low speed. Preferably be somewhere in the middle of 2000rpm - 3000rpm is ideal.
    And shouldn't your overdrive always be on?
