Queen of the Damned - Akasha Dances (Deleted scene X)
Vložit
- čas přidán 6. 03. 2011
- Additional scene 10. Despite the fact that the filmmakers loved every second of Akasha's original dance as well as her closing words to Lestat, this scene was trimmed to heighten tension.
- Zábava
I don't understand what tension they were trying to heighten, the tension came when she came! It came when she danced and ripped out his heart it came with the song! This scene was perfect!
No kidding. You knew when she first walked into the joint and all the younger vamps sensed her power that some serious shit was about to go down.
The editors butchered this movie and I wish there was a director's cut.
Basicallu Akasha was a T-Rex among gekkos.
all those deleted scenes just show how so many "movie" makers just don't know how to tell a story. Making movies doesn't mean you make stories.
If u don't understand, I question if you've even seen the movie
Apparently Aaliyah studied Arabian belly dancing and traditional East Indian dancing to do this scene, and u can tell. The hip and arm movements are mesmerizing and give her a sort of Medusa-esque appearance. If she was from Egypt this would make sense as there was/is a lot of middle eastern and Indian influence there. She was amazing RIP 💔
The hip rolls she said are her SIGNATURE MOVES....she does them in just about all of her videos..her dancing is mesmerizing in this everyone still talks about it....
@@corneliuswashington9218 yep! And in an interview she said she learned them from belly dancing and bharathnatyam (a form of classical Indian dance) 😍 ❤️ shes everything!!!
...she really had a serious appreciation for ancient cultures...her NAME to start out with is ARABIC... and she said she loves EYGTPTOLOGY...the ACCENT she uses in this film is COPTIC... the ancient language that Egyptians used and is almost forgotten...her dialogue coach has taught the language for several major films..he worked very hard with AAILYAH..and was very proud of her...and was very moved when he saw her in the film...and was very saddened when she died...she embraced ancient cultures..and I think it's key to her enduring memory...the subtext to her fame...and legacy...I love her...
Akasha is Egyptian, so I’m sure that she did. But Aaliyah has always been into the “hip wind” as seen in her last video “Rock the Boat” and previous video “Four Page Letter.”
@@tangiecleans312 oh yes of
Course I remember her always having that move, but in her interviews she had said she had taken belly dancing classes when young which influenced her moves through her career. I know that “winding” is not simply just an Asian thing, but also moves used in the Caribbean and Jamaica as well. She’s always done it beautifully 😍😍
Incredible how Aalyiah made such a cruel scene simply elegant and fascinating... still watching in 2021! :-) And though I think after "Interview" this movie was just very bad produced, she simply shines in it and made it worth watching. Baby-Girl was one of a kind and gone way too soon! What a talented, beautiful, outstanding young lady she was....
Unlike Interview these idiot producers, declined to let Anne Rice write the screenplay and instead they had idiots who didn't read the book and focused instead on that ninny white girl chasing Lestat instead of the character the book is about and the most interesting vastly superior character/actor Akasha/Aaliyah. 😒 Too bad this movie wasn't given the budget to do it justice! Tom Cruise made a better Lestat too!
I agree...I loved this movie, still do, but after the this scene the movie for me just fell off and got stale honestly, but every scene Aaliyah was in she was incredible, like I stated before the movie from the beginning this scene was great but afterwards it just got stale and fell off
dark. Sensual and destruction. She was a treasure and truly missed. Ffs why would you cut aalyiah dancing for more half naked Townsend 😒.
Someone needs to find all the deleted scenes from this movie and put it together
👍💯
This version of the scene is WAYYYYYY better than the theatrical version.
Yes absolutely
I agree
I agree. Wish they kept it. Especially when she said "Lestat, come out come out whereever you are."
I disagree
Her dancing is mesmerizing.
Chris Donato Her dancing reminds me of FKA Twiggs

And a very unique talent .
Kinda boring .
@@user-fc8gy5fi9n how do you imagine vampires dance like then
She honestly made this movie.
Only reason I watch to this day when I catch it.
She was supposed to she was the queen wat kinda comment is this lmao
@@katrinakardashian7307 girl stop trolling on the comments of Queen of the Damned videos. It’s not cute, that’s the only time I’m going to say something to you or even acknowledge you. Without Aaliyah in this movie, this movie would not even have any type of praise to it. It was trashed and panned by critics and this stopped the Anne Rice series from continuing on but Aaliyah’s LAST performance, in this movie is what MADE this film even likeable.

All the more reason she became immortal after the film.❤❤❤❤
That should not have been cut. That was hot as hell🔥
The filmmakers blew this flick on so many levels. This scene as well as the ancients at the Hollywood sign should have stayed in.
I agree.
Give me your favorite vampire movie for context please😂
They made a better film than they released. I’ve read the books and Queen of the Damned was way overwritten about the different vampires (it was good but impossible to be a coherent film).
Akasha is a beautiful creature.
Omg yes!
Diana Ignacio yes very beautiful
ABSOLUTELY 🔥🌹🔥
Feel the beat, Goddess Akasha! She was working her hips.
honestly they should have kept this version omg her voice in the end omg i love it R.I.P Aaliyah
Akasha barely got any screen time… the movie is named after her and I basically only got a story about some chick who wanted to be a vampire….
the book doesn't give her many pages either.
Aaliyah finished her scenes for this movie. They just cut out lots of scenes that should have been in the movie.
Not true.
Aaliyah finish the movie and her brother had to dub her voice since she was killed and she obviously couldn't finish her voice dubbing but the movie was good just Aaliyah stood out since she's the star of the movie but it could if follow the book to a degree like the demon possessing Akasha body or so that turned her to a vampire
She wasn't killed. It was a plane crash. Smh.
We lost a living legend on 8/25/01 it’s been 20 years and you can NEVER replicate or replace AALIYAH‼️..
Fucking miss her.
They can try to imitate it, but they can’t duplicate it.
I can’t relate to a happy state.
Honestly, extending the dance like this would have made the heart rip moment a lot more intense.
It would've been more unexpected.
exactly! this scene is perfection itself as it is. She starts to dance, little bit scary but at first not scary enough, so the other vampires think she is just okay, this is how she lures them...and then when she rips the heart, the whole atmosphere gets serious.
I wish Aaliyah was alive to see herself in the movie
😂😂😂😂
@@katrinakardashian7307 What's so funny?

Im sure she’s glad she’s died that to see this terrible movie. She was the only good part .
Those ending words should have been kept in. Gives me serious chills.
Aaliyah danced like Water😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤❤❤ and her voice at the end was just Damn!😍😍😍
Well they were going to kill Lestat, so she had to murder them all first. I love her dancing. I swear I remember seeing THIS dance in the movie first, not the shortened one which always looked like some moves were missing. Me and my friends were 9 yrs old trying to copy her.
Lestat... Come out, Come out, wherever you are...
HELL YEA THEY SHOULD HAVE KEPT THIS PART LIKE HE HAS NO CHOICE BUT COME OUT N PLAY.....THE QUEEN HAS ARRIVED WELL DONE AALIYAH❤️❤️❤️💙💙😇😇💋💋😘😘🔥🔥🔥🙏🏾👑👑🙏🏾🙏🏾💯💯💯
When she said that, it game me goosebumps

@@thomaswilkinson9873 same. Scary by compelling. She did so good in this role imo.
...cinematic history...
So much potential gone so soon...
You said it. She was beautiful and talented. Wish she was still with us. She had almost unlimited potential.
death by entourage.
Damn. I haven't watched this movie in about a year or so. I love this whole movie. Aaliyah was absolutely perfect for the character, Akasha in this movie, and she did a phenomenal job on not only this scene but the whole damn movie. A great big hug to her brother for stepping in and helping out where need be, I'll never forget her and your honorable contribution! Aaliyah was an extraordinary actress, dedicated to making each scene, each line, and each move on her part to fit Akasha's personality and character. Aaliyah as Akasha, the Queen of The Damned, she brought that character to life, grabbed my attention as if I was a moth dancing happily towards my death flame then she mercilessly killed me with her performance throughout it. Akasha knew she was Queen with that ego born long ago, desires to shape the world to cater to her needs and her future King's, she's absolutely fearless and seductively wicked.
Nice...
what in the hell, why cut it?? this scene was perfect and intense! and seeeeeeexy!
i watch this when i was 5 they actually didn’t cut it
they do that so you click on the video
They didn’t cut it only when she called lestat to come out
That scene is in my copy of the movie.
It was just the line at the end.
The rest was exactly as it was in the film.
Just minus the Lestat Come out line.
Which is just awful
The fact that they had the audacity to cut this scene out lmao. They def didnt do her justice w this damn movie
she even made eating a heart look sexy
I can't stop watching this.. since yesterday..I miss Aaliyah:'(
U look kinda cute
I could watch this 100 times.....she IS Akasha !!!!!!
Rowland S. Howard sighting at :45 and 2:45!! And yes, her dancing is superb. She had a good teacher, those are classic middleeastern dance movements, especially the rib cage circles that are so amazing.
junquecousteau that’s typical Aaliyah, she incorporated that into her walk because that’s a popular dance move of hers. She does it in every music video
Yep...her signature moves she calls them...
they should have kept this part in
The more I watch these, the more I see the wasted potential of this movie.
Still a fan after all these years.
I wish we could all watch together one day in a theater maybe :)
Aaliyah+ voice of Jonathan Davis+ exploding vampires= PURE OWNERSHIP.... no other scene tops this...nothing!
Her smile at 2:49 as Lestat sings is great:)
I'm in total tears because I truly was there to witness when she came on to the music scene and what this movie and role meant to me, being a brown person who was into Anne Rice. To see one of my idols to be in a role that was so unexpected from a young young R & B singer was so unexpected and uplifting and a great example of breaking down any color/race barriers. When she died, my life was shaken. A month later, in my city, when of the most tragic travesties happened in my life...911.... 2001 will forever be an immensely significant year in my life and the people who shared it with me, are forever tied and bond to me.
She was pefection in this movie. She made this movie watchable.
LEGENDARY
this is sad!! They shouldn't have shorten this beautiful scene... and the fact that Aaliyah died when her future was very bright!!! XC
Again Still get the chills, and this was bad ass scene!!
Her voice at the end!!!
“Lestart, come out, come out, wherever you are.”
So seductive and beautiful at the same time.
...and very WITTY...her plans for him...and the world were MAJOR...and having the vampires COME OUT..and take over the planet by HIS CALLING...and her TAKING OVER..with HIM as her KING...AND CONSORT... she was DEADLY SERIOUS...and her MIMICKING his LINE...just TOO WICKED...AND SLY..
What a way to steal a guy's heart.
WOW..... after all these years my love for this scene is COMPLETE🖤🖤🖤
her exit in the end looks more flawless and realistic here compared to the theatrical version.
I'm mad Aaliyah died she was so talented singing acting and dancer and a humble down to earth person RIP Aaliyah
This movie should've been about Queen Akasha..Only!
They should have kept this entire scene in the movie as well as when Akasha was in the back yard talking to lestat after the love scene. I've scene pics of that but no clips.
Can't act? She did GREAT playing a vampire and she's the reason why the world saw this movie, despiting the negative vibes. If she was still living, she'd be an Oscar-winning actress by now. But, I guess it's your opinion, So... :/
You are not wrong
She is hypnotic to watch.
Facts
Whoever said she can't act is a WHITE racist who needs to be shot in the face.
@@VipericVampire different strokes for different folks, just because someone says she cant act, doesnt mean they are racist.
no need to bring race into it dork.
When the bar went down in flames with Lestat’s voice in the background was bomb af
What?!!! How could they have cut out the part where she calls Lestat?! What the heck!
ikr right her voice its power they should have kept this version
It seemed corny to me to have her say the same thing he did. I like how they did it where she walks off licking her lips
@@jackieboi6772 I’m commenting late, but that’s the point. She’s repeating what he said, when he had said it it woke her from her sleep, and so she’s saying it too.
literally every second of this is both necessary and legendary. Queen Akasha
She will be missed. she was and always will be the Queen
She has transcended our plane of existence. She, like many other powerful people of the arts, has achieved immortality.
Yes I totally agree 6/19/24 and it’s still 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥love and miss this beautiful talented woman and she could really act , put her with any actor and trust she would make the seane better ,gone to soon ❤️💯🙏🏾
She deserved more screen time
She was very sinuous, wasn't she?She writhed like a snake, epitomising the seductiveness of evil. Aliyah was brilliant in this part and the film should have focused more on her and a lot less on Jessie whom I honestly thought was a bit of a drip and rather boring!
Agreed
Yep, nothing against the actress, she just didn't fit the role whatsoever.
@@JustMike2791 true just wish they put more time on her to practice for too form the character fully from book of Akasha and truth of Jessie
That part about Jessie I agree with you. I honestly could not find any reason to care for her character at all. Frankly I kept hoping someone would either bite her just get her out of our way or run over her with a Mac Truck. Ann Rice was very unhappy with what they did with this considering they combined 2 books together . Lestat and Queen of the Damned.
@@conniecarroll7222 Lolol, poor oul' Jessie, she bored the arses off us that much! I'm not surprised Ann Rice wasn't happy. The books deserved a film of their own each- I like this film but it wasn't great! Both novels have very complex stories that merited their own films.
All these cut scenes make me want to cry. Great book, great actress gone too soon this would have been excellent!
Ive never seen this version before! Never heard her say that
The same for me! but the dancing part reached the final cut tho !
Sleepless Wanderer not all of it
No lie from Romeo Must Die to Queen of the Damned. These are the two most iconic movies ever no lie Aaliyah is Queen :-)
It was these two films that immortalized her. She is part of the eternal now. How many other stars get to be part of the eternal?
I still wish they showed how she became a vampire and ruled in some flashbacks at least
In my heart. They were planning on doing do but she passed away. In my heart I knew I was never in the plans.
If only I could hit the like like button infinite times
R.I.P Aaliyah (one of my favorite singers since I was a child) This movie is old to me.It gives me chills knowing that I'm the same age she was when she died in the plane accident. I used to listen to her when I was around 5. :( She was a modest singer and a good actress (especially for a 22 year old who was known for their singing more than acting)
Yes...I feel the same way...knowing that I'm the same age as her now...it's crazy...
Ready to feel old and sad - this was 20 years ago. This dope movie came out and we lost an angel to Heaven. RIP Aaliyah
I love how she looks in here... sooooo beautiful & seductive lol so going to be akasha this Halloween

HARD SCENE EVER. DIDN'T WANT IT TOO END❤️❤️❤️❤️
The best vampire ever! She was so tiny!
Love this!! Loved her!! She played Akasha so well
love this scene where she dances!!
she is very special, elegant, beautiful , may she live on
It's 2021 and I came on here just to see this scene of gorgeous Aaliyah slay in all ways as Queen of the Damned.

Eat your heart out or Queen Akasha will!😂😂😂Aaliyah❤️❤️❤️
Omg I just released this movie got me into tribal fusion belly dancing.
It's was a ridiculous decision to cut parts of this amazing dance scene. Very bad editing I guess,,,still it's one of my favorite movies of all time. They could never have found a more perfect person to play the part of Akasha. Rest in peace Aaliyah,,,
EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS VERSION WAS BETTER THE MUSIC , HER VOICE , EVERYTHING DAMMIT
I don’t get the decision to cut this. This scene heightened the tension all by itself. Aaliyah was just too perfect in this scene. She definitely needed more screen time.
True fans of the book know that Akasha is actually not herself, but a demon spirit Amel that has been possessing her for centuries.
That Moment When Akasha Looks Right At You!! O.O
R.I.P she was a good Queen
This was seductive
The part where she stood upright (1:17) was EVERYTHING!
Still watch this movie maybe once a month playing in the background at my place... love it. She nailed this role.
wow this was perfect!
I saw the private screening and this entire scene was in it.
Love it that walk tho r. I. P babygirl
Such an epic scene.

Egyptian Queen Akasha Love the way she dance
3:37, hottest accent ever....if i had someone like that calling out my name in the middle of the night and it echoing throughout the sky i'd be a little worried :-)
Too bad the movie wasn't very good. Aaliyah was AMAZING as the villain.
she saved the hero twice :o
Ahh, I enjoyed it man... Especially for my Aaliyah... She was such an impactful force in my upbringing. I had a year or two on her, but she was so stylish and pretty and cool.... To see her in something like this when as a person of color, it wasn't expected that I would not only recognize but admire the writings of Anne Rice, was so uplifting, encouraging and hopefull, that race was no longer an issue.
@@misstantrix i agree idc what they day she was just iconic long live Aaliyah

Wooooooooooooooow. They should of sooooooooooo kept the last part where she calls out to him at the end.
Everybody has their opinions. At least the writer was honest and showed respect to Aaliyah.
Why cut out her dancing?! It’s sexy and she totally killed this scene !
