Romeo Must Die was a few years before, but yeah, this would have been her big break out role.

Whoever they cast for the mother of vampires in this Vampire Chronicles TV remake is gonna have some big shoes to fill cuz I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that nobody will be able to top Aaliyahs performance

This movie needs to be redone. No offense to The Late Aaliyah (I’m a huge fan). However, due to her death, I always felt like this movie felt incomplete. I wanted to learn more about Akasha’s Story, more about Enkil, The Twins, and of course The Very Spirit that caused all of this which is Amel.

This was a little eerie because it came out right after she died...it was almost like we were seeing her be resurrected
actually bumped it . this was supposed to come out in 01. they were giving respect to her family to grieve being that she passed literally 2 weeks after her album dropped and hours after the video was finished. this movie would have been the tip of the spear if it was released for profit and not respect. no one would have seen it out of sheer anger. plus if i understand her brother was re recording her audio .

It’s a shame that Brad Pitt and Tim Cruise never got to reprise their roles… Interview with the Vampire was phenomenal.
I think one reason is they needed this Lestat to be morally grey enough to prevent mass casualties; Cruise's Lestat would have let Akasha have her way and all it would take is "hey, you want Louis back?"

@@mc-rn8ro in the books specifically The Vampire Lestat, it states that Lestat actually read Interview with the Vampire and quoted that he was upset that Louis wrote lies about him. So infact Louis description of Lestat was never accurate. In fact Lestat did have morals he lived by.

Tom Cruise should've never been Lestat De Lioncourt. Stuart Townsend is, above and beyond, the best actor to ever portray the character; he embodies him.
Loved Aaliyah as Queen Akasha she was perfect even the costumes and bar scene dance fire itself but sad part they didn't give her the Accurate material from book put full time depth to her perfect actress but fucked up scripted smh enjoy this theme this should've played after lestat violin to akasha

I read all of Anne Rice's books about Lestat Coeur De Lion and Stuart Townsend was the very picture of Lestat as was described in the books. He played him perfectly. Too bad the film Queen of the Damned strayed so much from the book with other characters. Marius did not make Lestat. He taught him though. Lestat's sire killed himself by fire before teaching Lestat anything. Marius had long blond hair and looked like Fabio, didn't resemble the film's Marius at all.
They consolidated the characters, working within their budget.
This music would awaken any vampire from its slumber ! ❤❤❤

Song fitted very well... The history passes in Egypt, but Akasha actually is babylonyan. This movie had great actors, if it had better resources, could be what we call "cult" nowadays. I believe for some it is, even with those imperfections, because Aaliyah, Stuart and of course, the amazing soundtrack
I've seen the movie and read every book Anne Rice has ever written. Every time Akasha is mentioned she is Egyptian. Where are you getting she is Babylonian?

In the book Akasha and Enkil were stabbed to death in a revolt by their subjects for being against the practice of sorcery and the spirit Amel who the people conjured up entered and took over Akasha's body and Akasha became the first vampire then she transformed Enkil into a vampire. Yes it would make a great movie.

It should have been three because the vampire lestate was book two which explains how he became a vamp and also Gabriella is in like all of the books up to I think book four. I read up to book four. Then queen of the damned in two movies because it was such a great book with lots of material and back stories. I wish they would have done a series of movies on the vampire chronicles. Or take Rices material and use it for an hbo series like they did with true blood but stay close to the source material.
