This scene is beautiful. So many should not have been cut. Also the way Armand walks...and that grin😊
Armand grinning like, "Yep, of course Lestat would do something like this."
typical hollywood to cut out a scene that makes the most sense
And replace it with pointless artistic visuals like the forsaken video in the intro in its ENTIRETY.. WHY??
Someone needs to edit the movie and put all the deleted scenes back in the movie!! That would be wicked to see!!!
Yay for the church of intellectual property law making this literally illegal.
Didn't they realize that they cut EXACTLY the scenes that would have made 'Queen of the Damned' a better, more book-accurate movie?
Nevermind, I'm starting to believe they did it on purpose.
They really watered the story down to a pathetically lonely vampire who just wants rock and Love forever. No doubt Hollywood thought that sounded like a formula that couldn't lose.
Meggie R I thought the same. The book was fantastic, because of the history.
movie directors never learn the lesson to treat the movie like an expectator, no. they treat the movie as money product, not as pure entertainment honoring the book.
Yes it is. And the movie slaughters the story. I heard that Anne Rice hated it.
I still love Claudia Black as Pandora. She was always my favorite of the vampires, and Claudia did her justice. I'd love to see a version of the movie with these scenes edited back in.
Whooo, I knew I had recognised Vala Maldoran and Dalhia, in this movie. Amazing.
This was one of the most important parts of the movie, and the best part about the book is that it was the first one of the series that actually goes into detail about all of these characters, and many others. I get that they couldn't fit *all* of the character in the book into the movie, but the ones that are in the movie are only a handful of the entire cast of vampires featured. To "de-emphasize the ancients", was a *huge* mistake! It just left me wondering "who the hell are these people, and why are they here?"
Armand was resting near Jim Morrison's grave. Oddly makes sense.
This is a decent vampire flick if you have not read any of Anne Rice's vampire books. But if you have read them then it's a catastrophe. It seems they tried to mix The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned into the same movie. They left out so many characters. Nicholas, Gabrielle , Magnus, Louie. Just to name a few. Lets not talk about what they did to Armand and Marius. The music saved this movie, Although the Jonathan Davis version of Slept So Long was SOOO much better than Jay Gordon.
I wish they had made them into two separate movies. I always imagined Armand to be some lithe red head early 20s- late teens and I loved his interaction with david in the books. Magnus was interesting. He was a powerful vampire hence why Lestat was strong even as newborn, his time was short in the books, but he stood out because he was the sire and really weird vampire.
The intention was to combine "The Vampire Lestat" and "Queen Of The Damned". I'm pissed they did it, but it's what got Hollywood's attention so they could bring even a fraction of the story alive. Can't wait to see if the rumors are true of the making "The Vampire Lestat" into it's own movie. there's talks of having Jared Leto as Lestat if memory serves. Course that's all just rumors at the moment.
if you watch the movie with the dvd commentary they explain why they chose to make it so different from the book
my biggest issues were that the books have Lestat and Marius as blondes, in fact it is a major factor in Lestat being chosen. Oh, and Pandora is a Roman like Marius, not Indian.
they need to make a tv series based on the books it would be better than another movie
I often wished HBO would pick it up. They always do such good and true adaptions and seriously, the first three books could be an easy seven seasons.
S Vara I could not agree more it would give plenty of space to explore the entire story.
Armands facial expression beginning at 1:42 unnerves me.
Is he leering at Lestats music,or because he's hungry and about to kill all those punks in the cemetery?
Every single one of the deleted scenes I've seen here SO should have been included in the film!!! So much of the meaning is contained therein. If they had been included, this movie would have been in three dimensions, rather than two. But hey ~ that's Hollywood for you... Das Kapital. So, when are they going to offer a version for sale that includes all the MEANINGFUL scenes?!! Thank! You! for sharing them with us!
I wonder what the partiers at Jim's grave thought when they saw Armand?
"Woah! Dude!"
This needed to be included in the film, if anything just to explain how the Ancients get involved in the story. It's always unnerved me how they just appear out of nowhere during the concert without any explanation as to who they were and why they were there. I still adore this film, even though the editing was sketchy in parts. They really should have made two separate films instead of trying to combine two books into one.
When I first saw this movie, I wondered the same thing. My brother told me to read the Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles. Total injustice to the Ancients in the movie
armand's scene was gold
should have focused more on the ancients in my opinion, they were so amazing in the book especially khayman i loved his view of the world and how every other vampire was scared shitless when they sensed him :)
It is ironic that the producers deleted the best scenes in the film. No wonder the movie all edited and cut out to be a mess, if they remove the best parts.
Armand's so cute. They should have had more of him.
I am annoyed that they actually cast him perfectly and only gave him three words to say in the entire movie.
where the fuck do you see armand? armand is a 16 year old red headed russian boy, hes only 700 years old after vampirism. hes no where near an ancient
@@BILLYBOW5267 700 years old is pretty old, even in the Anne Rice canon. In Interview, he even thinks he is the oldest vampire still alive.
@@Nitenshi true that. He's younger then that. But not by much... My point is that he doesn't carry his true visage. In the books he comes from the time of the fall of constantinople. He's pretty old and pretty small and red headed, the movies fucked up so much. He's not considered an ancient like kayman, mekare and Maharet. He's just a baby compared to them
"What ancient and terrible beings, incited by history, purpose, or mere recognition, might be moving slowly and inexorably to answer his summons?" - QotD, the novel.
I still like this movie a lot. I consider it one of the best vampire movies in terms of artistic values. Things look the way they should look. Good music, good visuals (except they got Armand wrong again) and lots of style. Making movie scripts from good novels always turns out the same way... Nobody can ever be happy about those.
Lestat looking fine sleeping on that satellite lol 🤴🏻🙌🏾
There are cuts I feel should not have cut. The ancients rising and the flying scene and Akasha's dancing scene. I think it would've added more texture and depth. The movie is still a great movie no matter what. Kept that vampire eliminate in the modern world. You could feel the characters emotions within themselves. Kickass music too.
Lestat the Brat Prince.
um. I think they did make a good choice with Lestat and Mael and even Pandora. Maharet also. the bullshit thing is how they twisted the whole story. No Mekare, Marius being Lestats`Maker, Pandora dying, when she doesnt die at all in the book..the movie itself was a bit shitty, but i dont think they chose the actors that bad.
They really should have kept this scene. They should have kept a lot of the scenes!!
1:45
Armand: "Mmm mmm mmm, daddy smells appetizers!" 😈
Such an underrated movie
Just got done watching Interview with the Vampire again. Man, what a great movie. I don't remember QotD tbh, but I just can't believe that's the same Armand at 1:42 than the one in IwtV. Not only does he not look like I expect him to, his personality seems entirely different based on that smirk alone.
Need to watch QotD again to refresh my memory on many things, realizing this are just deleted scenes. But after having read the novels I doubt it will meet even my lowest expectations.
WHY DID THEY TAKE THIS PART OUT!!!! It could of been awesome to watch it when the movie is playing. Oh and Queen of the Damned is on Netflix YAY!
I have read the book twice (along with all of Anne Rice's books) and several parts of it were not in the movie. Such a shame. I would have also liked to see the legend of the twins depicted in this movie. We are alluded to Meheret's lost of sight but we did know how she lost it (along with her twin's loss of tongue), and the desecration of the holy feast by the royal guards. I always cry when I read that part. It is so touching.
this is and always will be my absolute fave vampire film next to underworld. i was obsessed with this movie when i was 14.
Years ago I saw a comic book version of Interview With the Vampire and Louie's hair was jet black and Armand's hair was brunette almost ginger colored shoulder length, and he looked younger than Louie.
did u know armand is origanaly from russia and if im not mistaken i think he was aroun 15 to 17 when turned
movies from this era are so good.
@1:48 pandora always caught my eye . lol she's so pretty , I wanted to look like her 😍😍🔥
Gives me Gypsy vibes instead of a vampire unless she was born in that era of being a Gypsy
I believe the casting was alright, perfect for the choice of Pandora and Mael but I was quite dissapointed I didn't get to see Mekare, they were after all twins with Maharet
The problem with this scene in particular is that they rise from very very ancient places, like they have also sleept for centuries just like Lestat, but this does'nt add up with the flashbacks Jessy is having of when she was like 8, living in the Vampire mansion, with all of them around.
So they either had to cut out some stuff from Jessie's flashbacks, but they help establish why she's so obssessed by Vampires, or this scene.
For once i get why they did cut it, there is more detrimental scenes that where more important then this one honestly.
Armand’s walk is so enchanting, he really showed portrayed what vampires are described as in Anne’s novels. I was in a complete trance and couldn’t take my eyes off of him, wonderful work
Thank you! 💋
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! 💯
lastast nailed his part to exleclent love him
This book needs a big serie.
All the deleted scenes should have never been cut from the finished movie, especially this scene, it would of added so much Goth rock edge & grit.
Maybe if they hadn't wasted so much time showing the artistic visuals of "lestats" music videos, they could have fit these important scenes into the movie.. like was it really necessary to show basically the entire forsaken video in the intro? If they had only included enough to get the point, they would have time to put this scene in the movie.
Thank god they cut it.
this movie could have been a LOT better🤦🏾♂️ smh! Starting with more Akasha
Well Aaliyah died while they were making this movie so I'm sure that hurt her screen time unfortunately. RIP
I wish they'll make a movie about Armand! It was my favorite book from the series!
‘De-emphasis on the Ancients’ I guess I didnt read the same book as them because that was ALL of the plot of the book. Guess the studio was looking for a tax writeoff.
The ancients and the Legend of the Twins were some of the best parts of the book, so naturally, their representation in this production or lack theirof was heartbreaking.
This movie was awesome regardless of the critics.
Well this is cool seeing the ancients rise. Very cool, too bad they didn’t leave it in the movie
OMFG I was trying to forget Jim morrison I went to hes grave last year and its stll haunting me so I decided to watch some clips from vampire films I like alone and behold this clip there at Jim Morrisons grave wud you believe he really is haunting me ahhhhhh
I have to love this movie and you know she was only 22 portraying a agent charater.thats amazing what girl that age plays a woman that ancient.its just says she was young but very intellectual.
That was so dope!!!
this scene would made it even better! why cut it? it is actually good.
Jothen Davis did a great job for the sound track
They should have kept this in the movie too to introduce us to the Ancients instead of just of at the concert out of nowhere. I didn't even know the long haired blonde dude was Armand. Too bad the movie didn't give him enough dialogue.
This scene should have NEVER been cut out!!!!!
A Tv show about Lestat the Vampire and then going in to Queen of the Damned, would be boss, if done right.
Only recent vampire shows that are kinda good( even if kinda stretched) is the Originals, while Vampire Diarys takes from Buffy and Twiligth, the Originals are much closer to a Lestat deal.
There also was the Dracula show, wich is a shame that it got canceled for the wrong raisons, cause i liked how it took a different approach in the first half, and then it was gonna conform more to the original work, but sadly...
there's also the Strain in the more gorey and disgusting kind of thing(Vampires been blood sucking parasites, like in Blade II)
So honestly a new Vampire show based on Ann Rice's, would be amazing.
There’s going to be one, but it’s not going to be done remotely correctly
Idk if you know but there is a interview with a vampire on HBO (tv show)
This is very late but thanx! Yes she is very beautiful!
The only good thing about that movie was the music awesome soundtrack
Awesome! they really should have left that in
Wow even made the ancients rising look bad ass
Dear Lestat, what have they done to you? 😥😥😥
Imagine having the power to wake up the most powerful of your ancestors.
They should have used some of these deleted scenes. They were the best!!!
Cool upload rome933.
I still love the actor who played marius and its what i picture him being whe reading the books despite knowing marius had long blonde hair
Love This Song & Movie 🎥
I should have read the books first before the movie 😆 this whole time I thought Marius was the one who turned are beloved brat prince but it was all Magnus
armand is just like "mmmmm i smell blood and what is tht i hear its inturiging" oh he look soooo hot in this scene
Love this movie still
@LloydChristmas777 I just figured that was Eric, not Armand, lol. I thought they'd cut Armand out when they made Marius Lestat's maker and not Armand's.
wow esta video me encanta tengo la pelicula con las ecenas nunca antes vistas y esta e una de las ecenas y mi favorita
Khayman
Need to rerelease an extended version
HBO needs to get on the books and do a series. With the right cast and writing it would be a success. The books are so rich in detail you just can't cram them into a 2 hour movie.
Appreciate the thinking matter
I dream of the day that someone remakes this as it should have been done.
A shame they didn’t leave it in. I haven’t watched it since the one and only time I saw it in the theater, but the ancients didn’t make any sense in the movie. This would have helped - along with mentioning what their names were.
Love this movie!! I want something more! like sequel....
Pandora!!!
That -music- noise is enough to wake the dead. I'd wake up cranky as sh*t
This movie is hella slept on and not a soul can change my mind
1:33 : Me, every morning of my life.
Definitely wouldn't have taken away anything from the movie by leaving this in, since you saw these characters at a later time.
And they couldn't give us Louis because?
I know he's not one of the ancients only being 200 and something years old give or take, but I wanted to see how they'd portray him in this movie.
I need help what is the name of this song and who sings it is amazing i want to buy it but i dont know who sings it or the name of the song
When MTV actually did Music news.
Just like the scene where they meet at the Hollywood since, should’ve stayed in the film.
Right?! Armand and and Lestat are just dreamy hahaha!!!!!!
Kind of happy they cut it. Wasn't to impresed.
I always wanted to read the books but never did I just might do that where can I find the books please
i totally agree! he looks like a young man like he is suppose not a 40 something with black hair!sure he doesnt have auburn hair in this one but he has the right age look and attitude.armand is suppose to seem young and innocent but at the same time ruthless and mature and intelligent.this one brings that out
Mael and Mahret are ancient too
The song is jonathan davis of korn singing a song that is supposed the be lestat's band's song.
I think all the vampires are awesome but I have a favorite Armand I just like him for some reason
All of Ann Rice's books? Even the Claiming Sleeping Beauty ones?` Cus if I was you I would not be to proud of that. But yeah, they left out a LOT from the book. I'm one of the few who thinks that it would be cool if HBO would make a 1 season tv series from it. Atleast they would have time enough to show everything plus background stories.
Her sleeping beauty books wouldn't see the tv screen not even in adult films. Those were verrrrry graphic and would make you feel like you're being SHAMED by the lady on Game of Thrones not to mention THERE are ALOT of Prudes.
I know this is going to sound weird but I needed to confirm the actor who plays him because I thought it was Leonardo DiCaprio so thank you for replying.
I just wish they put the deleted scenes in the movie to make it more better.
They should release a director's cut today to give appreciation to Aaliyah and show these new vampire movies how it's done
They really dropped the ball by not releasing a director's cut.
a snyder cut you mean.
that's wasn't the only problem witht he movie. Armand's cast was wonky. that's not Armand... he looks way older than 17, is blonde! And he was already awake by the time Lestat woke up as he had never really gone to sleep. He was a rich teenager chasing Daniel all over the world and had Night Island ins his possession and was obsessed with blenders and electronics.
