Incredible bike and very nice review. Like your perspective and the good video work. Just subscribed to your channel. I would appreciate a bit more of driving though and as you live in Germany some highway high speed reviewing also for long riders. Thanks again 👍🏼👍🏼

Did you find you get any wind buffeting around your head at higher speeds? Or is it clean air

Which would you choose--this or a GT1290? I am short--but can reach the ground on the SAS (I own one) but want more assurance when paddling the bike out of parking spots,a bit less weight, etc. I will be carrying my small wife (5"0"/113 pounds) often and am thinking a new edition GT next year (Assuming the Superduke makeover makes it over to the GT next year.). Of course--then the revised SAS will be here with lower fuel tanks like the 790 nada so tip off from side stand should be easier. Thanks for your review and opinion.

Hi Tom, I'd take the GT simply because it is a SDR made comfortable/touring and I currently own a 2015 SDR. In fact if I can afford it this year I will get the 1290 GT...that's a big if. The main difference between the GT and SAS is the off-road focus. So if you are not going to do any off-road then get the GT but the problem is that your wife may prefer the SAS over the GT. For a passenger, the SAS is probably a little more comfortable. Have her sit on the GT and see if she likes it.
      Ride safe, Scott

I read the FTF screen is 6.5" not 5.2"

Does it lean on right side when you let go off your hands?

Nice review. I appreciate the slow-mo ride by clips. Talking about the riding position is no where near as effective as seeing it. The bad thing about phone based navigation is the lack of cell service in remote areas. I would love to see KTM integrate GPS into their flagship touring machines, at least as an option. The BMW Garmin based nav systems are very nicely integrated.

Brad Bilski You have great phone apps like here we go that work without cell service with previously downloaded maps for free.
