    Thanks for posting this. I hadn't used my buttonholer on my Janome, ( I use zippers a lot for closures). This was incredibly helpful.

      Re booting the machine after each button hole, is usually more the problem. Especially on slightly older machines. Good luck

    But how do you sew a button hole for a button that is bigger than what will fit in the buttonhole foot? Mine is an inch and a half.

    • @StitchlessTV
      @StitchlessTV  Před 5 měsíci

      That's a very good question. I would say it's all about tricking that thing that you pull down that stops when it hits the end of the button hole bit

  • @dreamdancer84
    @dreamdancer84 Před 2 lety +1

    Thank you, my buttonhole stitch lengths/density on the right and left are different (the right is longer than the left), do you have any idea on the cause?

    • @StitchlessTV
      @StitchlessTV  Před 2 lety

      This is generally caused by having the stitch length set too near to to zero. To avoid this problem, always sew a test buttonhole on a piece of fabric from the garment. Remember to include any interfacing that's recommended on the sewing pattern.

      You may need to reboot the machine after each try at doing the button hole...

    • @StitchlessTV
      @StitchlessTV  Před 3 lety

    Hi ! I followed your tutorial and I'm so confused! When I start stitching it sews a tight zig zag stitch continuously towards me? Instead of a short one away from me ? Any idea what's happening I don't know what to do 😥

    • @StitchlessTV
      @StitchlessTV  Před 3 lety +2

      After each attempt you need to reboot the machine, switch on and off or turn to normal stitch and back to button hole stitch....try that.

    When demonstrating a buttonhole, it is best to use a solid color fabric and not a busy print.
