remember how he called Rebecca a shrew and tore into her when he thought she fired him. And then he found out he was given a contract as a coach. There's been hints of his nature all along.
True. Even at the start when he immediately yelled at Ted & Beard. He's always been one to kick downwards & lick upwards.
@@isabelfortuneteller kick downwards and lick upwards is quite the visual, and YES. 100%
Yup. Both of those things mentioned above. There have always been signs.
Exactly this. One thing Ted Lasso always did masterfully is plant seeds from the start about plot twists and character turns.
I think whats going on with Nate is a good study of insecurity and what is like for a person who previously had power taken away from them to be given it, even if its painful to watch him change. Its sadly realistic for a lot of people.
I love Zuff's chaotic intros. Correcting himself from we, to the show "finding" Ted "sleeping" in Dr. Sharon's "locker". I don't know how Bryce or Rob keep straight faces.
😂😂😂
Mind you, this stuff with Nate hardly came out of nowhere. There were instances earlier in Season 2 I think one of you guys noticed, and Season 1 had little hints about his insecurity (basically everything from him in the first two episodes), buried hairtrigger temper (remember how he responded when he momentarily thought he'd been fired?), and awkward overprotectiveness of the little power he had (remember his initial overreaction to Ted and Beard first being on the Pitch?)
Nate really started to anger me this episode I like how he got told of by coach beard
As a therapist, yes we hear that all the time lol And as a children’s therapist it’s even more frustrating from their parents
Man, I hated Nate's arc so much, but I so respected it for the writing. Perfect example of someone who is deeply insecure and bullied, then gained a bit of power and took every wrong lesson from it. Nate started finally feeling proud because he was getting all this external validation, but unless he figures out how to gain confidence internally, from himself, then it'll all backslide. Great story about the bully who becomes the bully, and all those tiny little things that feel like intentional slights when someone doesn't have self-confidence.
I was immediately troubled by his spitting, during his “power pose.”
this episode is great, love the quote “truth will set you free, but first, it is gonna piss you off”! next one is one of my favs!
Jesus said that. (The first part)😀
@@janemary8339and the weight of the quote isn’t the first part, everyone has heard “the truth will set you free”. The second part that really sits with people
Everyone talking about Nate and I’m just over here falling more in love with Roy every episode!! 🥹🥰😁
Yeah but on the other side of Nate, sure he went from nothing to a lot but doesn't that tell you something. A persons character I feel can be shown more when they have power than when they don't. If now he's acting bad just because of a little power, doesn't that kinda mean he would have the whole time, just never had the opportunity to.
"Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely"
Nate has an injured self esteem which is quite normal considering his story. Turning him heel is quite a smart choice by the writers
Well remember him when he thought he was gonna be fired in Season 1 and how he reacted to Rebecca? yeah this was sleeping in his character the whole time
One of the great things about this episode for me is how it’s paying homage to one of my favorite episodes of sex ans the city, the exact episode of the tv show Keely was watching when Roy sat down to read his book.
Oliver Twist is the protagonist of a Charles Dickens novel. He's an orphan and his story is weirdly similar to HarryPotter, though he's not a wizard.
what? and surely Harry Potter is similar to Oliver Twist written a century sooner🎉
How did they not pick up on Nate's annoyance at Wonder Kid until the end??
Great insight once again. Next ep is one of the best. Can’t wait for you to see it.
With Nate, I’ve never went from loving a character so much to hating them so much.
I don’t like the way Nate spoke to Colin. However later when I thought about it, at the beginning of the series Colin and Issac were Nate’s worst tormentors.
If I had to guess, I think the Wonder Kid jersey, while a nice gift, reminds Nate of how much he fucked up on live television, even if it was a tiny wording mistake. All that pride and insecurity is really getting way too far though, and definitely makes Nate be an ass.
Yeah Nate has his head up his arse a lot in this episode eh.. hard to watch because he always was a favorite. Let's hope he has a satisying redemption arc! I have faith in the wonder kid 😏
Great reaction ep as always boys! Looking forward to the next
Nate feels like the messed up 'wonder kid' instead of Wunderking is his failure, like its embarrassing he messed up the phrase. Seeing a negative comment convinced him
that Will was mocking him with the T-shirt.
Show volume is too low fellas. Great reactions though!
The guy on the right, Brice? He absolutely saw this before
Nate’s gotta hit rock bottom before his redemption arc
Nate is a like a person who was bullied and now wants to bully people to make himself feel better.
Thanks, Zuff! Thanks, Rob! Thanks, Bryce! 🥅 #ReelTime #MattLipsey #TedLasso

I love to see your reaction I would love for you to see the Japanese movie ''Battle Royale'' it is one of the best Japanese movies and bloodier and also ''the world of kanako'' and ''Confessions'' I know very good movies I hope that you can see those movies I will be looking forward to them and excitement
When you find out why Nate is being an arsehole you will understand. As to Ted and therapy, he’s got a legitimate reason to not trust them.
You guys have got to have watched this show. You cannot guess right every time before it happens.
Guys, you have the audio on the video too low and the captions are too small to read so I have NO idea what you're reacting to.
I don’t like how they have ruined Nate
I still can't believe Keeley talked about Roy behind his back to his colleagues, boss, and her own ex-bf 🙃 and we're meant to find it funny. Roy was right to feel humiliated. You just don't do that.
Communication is key with each other. Instead she just bottled things up until she exploded.
Talking behind your partner's back is the worst. I understand wanting to talk with Rebecca because she and Keeley are friends... but she's still Roy's boss.
Thinking back on it Roy and Keeley's relationship had a lot of uncomfortable things happening. Starting with the fact that she gets off to Roy being miserable (in s2 she literally w*nks to him crying during his retirement press conference, and in s1 when he was about to get benched, all she could think about was how hot it would be if he cried 🤢) and to him doing exactly what she tells him to do without question. And her advice to Jamie when Roy is upset? Just agree with him and ignore the issue, who cares about WHY he's upset, right? All that matters is that he stops being a prick to me! 🙈 big nope for me.
Roy wasn't the greatest either, but I don't want to spoil things on his part, they'll come later in the season and in s3.
Yeah but she also admitted to it every time Roy walked in on the conversation. And he never asked what it was they were particularly talking about him. Poor communication from both.
"and in s1 when he was about to get benched, all she could think about was how hot it would be if he cried". That's not at all what was happening. She was being sarcastic because Roy was all "woe me" when he's a footballer who makes millions of dollars. Also she didn't see him as being miserable, she says it herself: she likes when he's passionate and vulnerable.
@nenegrey2282 wait, "when he was about to get benched, all she could think about was how hot it would be if he cried"? When did this happen? i missed that. Also, yeah, Keeley's making mistakes in this season. Roy is making less of them right now, but he will make more of them later...
Dudes why do you rarely look at the camera when each of you speak?
