I think it could give that under performing team a kick in the ass. I mean Jacque Martin is a great coach. But really they have to be spanked. I have been an Ottawa fan for many years. But yeah something
😊
I would love them to bring in Berube, but i tend to think if he was there guy then they would have already hired him.
Should be Leafs coach
Mike Sullivan
😂😂😂
KEEP MARTAIN...HIM AND ALFIE DOING GOOD JOM....
meh not really. alfies pp has been pretty brutal and martin is 71
no
No
They would have already hired him.
I would agree with Berube and Martin as an assistant coach.Martin is getting the team going because of certain changes to the lineup. It takes Ottawa a couple weeks to start playing well once Norris is out,the same with Chabot. With Chychrun,Sanderson,Brannstrom,Zub,JBD and Tyler Klevin they are stronger.I was wondering if you think a trade with Montreal would work? What I was thinking was Chabot to Montreal for Johnathan Kovacevic and Arber plus a pick for 2026.Two big third pairing guys,to second pairing. Then move Norris and pick up the center you want.Ryan Nuggent Hopkins,Zach Hyman or Draisatl are having their last season together. One of them will be on the move.Thats without picking up a right shot d man for top pairing. It would give some toughness to the team.
Lots of reasons this doesn't work:
1. Habs would struggle to fit Chabot's cap hit
2. Moving a top-pair d for two 3rd pair d doesn't make sense unless that 2026 pick you mention is a 1st rounder
3. Sens would struggle to move Norris with his injury history and cap hit
4. All 3 of those Oilers players have trade protection: Nugent-Hopkins (full NMC), Hyman (full NMC), and Draisaitl (NTC - 10-team approved list). Zero chance any of them would approve a trade to Ottawa
5. What assets are the Sens giving up to get the top-pair RD and 2nd-line center? Both would be very costly & the Sens don't have any high-end prospects
It’s gonna be their buddy, John Gruden. Nothing this ownership group has done has been a surprise, not sure why we think they would name anyone else. Chief’s been available for months and months. If they wanted him, they would have had him around the team evaluating them… if they didn’t and then hire him…. I’d wonder about their ability to actually make this a success.
Can’t wait for another cheap rookie coach 🙄
Tbh I don't think he will be head coach. Assistant, 100% but I have a feeling it'll be Mike Sullivan if he's fired from the Pens, since Martin is part of the coaching process. You'd think JM would recommend Sully since they won cups in PIT. Staios and the organization will listen and it'll be a process.
@@sens_outlook Sullivan will NOT be fired. He may be allowed to leave as Pitt will need a rebuild but WTF would he chose Ottawa when he can chose teams that are far better positioned to compete for a cup?
@user-md3ij9oc9q I look at the coach openings around the league, and Ottawa is probably top 2 for the most attractive openings. Why wouldn't he want to coach Tkachuk, Stutzle, Batherson, Sanderson, etc?

Ottawa will get another coach with no experience.
There’s no reason that can’t work if they do choose to go that route. Cooper and bednar were both hired with no previous nhl experience and they’ve had some success
It will be Gruden, 100%.
They went that route with DJ because Melnyk wanted the cheapest coach out there. Pretty sure Michael and Steve are willing to spend money on a really good coach.
@@darkchiefReborn nah… they’ll hire their buddy.
Define buddy. A buddy of Staios? A buddy of Michael? Why does it matter though as long as he has NHL experience. @@user-md3ij9oc9q
