  • I haven't done many videos with using the Toro Timemaster. Thought I would share using it on a tall and think lawn. I usually do use my stand on mowers but this early in the season, I choose the Timemaster as it bags very well. Sit back and enjoy.

      Depending on how fast you move, yes, double or go slow like I did. Less tiring. Prob still the same time as double cutting. Either way, this machine does a great job. Thanks for watching!

    Miiiike! Good video, Bro'! UGH! Push mowing! Had a hard enough time on my rider today. Took me TWO HOURS to cut little over 1/2 acre! Have had so much rain. Grass was THICK! Clogged up the chute multiple times. Even had to hose out under the deck! I give you guys TONS of respect for doing this all day long. Yes, I did it in my 20's but, WOW, It's getting tougher! hahaha!

    • @MBGAdventures
      @MBGAdventures  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, we are all dealing with the wet, tall, thick grass. This is why I will not do bi weekly for the first couple months. Ok, I have two but they hardly grow as they are weedy. It's frustrating when mowers clog up. This is why slower is better. You save time in the end. I'm not getting any younger either. I bought another machine today to help with that. You will see in my next video. Have a great weekend Lou!

    Good job , I double cut most of my yards . At least the fronts . Especially this time of year . I bag very little . I have tried the time masters . Bought twice , sold twice . They just don’t fit on my trailer . I usually have two 52 inch mowers on and two toro super recyclers on. They slip right beside . So what ever property I pull up on I can just grab the mower I need.
    Those mowers are awesome but u have to bag with them , at least in the spring . So I don’t use them , I mulch , or side discharge , double cut and then blow anything that’s left . I dealt with hauling clippings fir a few years . That system didn’t work for me .
    Would or do u ever use the 36 on that property or is it to tight .
    Have a great weekend . Keep up the great work

      I agree with you. If I can, I will use the 36 and double cut. Some lawns like this one, I can't. The 36 weighs down the grass and does not pick it up great. I usually use the 36 on this lawn after the spring months.

    • @MBGAdventures
      @MBGAdventures  Před 3 lety

      Thanks so much Joe. I had a commercial Toro 21 inch and sold it after 2 months buying it new. It was too heavy. It would only work great in warm dry weather. The wheels weighed down the grass. I didn't like it. Love the Timemaster. I have two. You just have keep up with repairing them as they get older. Mine are on their fourth season now and things are breaking. Where are you located?

    • @joeraptor1

      @@MBGAdventures Thanks for the feedback. I'm from the Toronto Area. I've got a Toro commercial 22290. It works quite well but I always wanted to try something bigger or different. The Timemaster has been interesting but it's got so many mixed reviews and a lot of concerns about durability that I was always hesitant to get one. The commercial Turfmasters jump in price by a lot.

    • @MBGAdventures
      @MBGAdventures  Před 3 lety

      @@joeraptor1 I get what you're saying. I just don't like the weight of the Turfmaster and that it does not have personal pace. For the price of the commercial you can have two timemasters that are lighter and either get more work done or have a back up.

    • @joeraptor1
      @joeraptor1 Před 3 lety

      @@MBGAdventures I know...same thing with the 21" mower debate. A lot of people opt for the Toro Super Recyclers for the same reason. You can get 2 for the price of 1 commercial 21" plus they are lighter. I'm impressed with how well your Timemaster handled that thick grass. I'm like you...in the spring...I prefer to bag. I find it's actually faster than double or triple cutting by mulching or side discharging. Plus, what I've noticed is when you mulch that thick grass in the spring, you are dumping a lot of clippings into the lawn. Unless it rains immediately afterwards, those clippings won't be driven deep into the turf. Then, if it gets hot, all of that nitrogen in the grass clippings will start to burn the lawn just like a fertilizer burn. I had that problem a lot last year. Then I had to reseed these areas because the customers were upset. The experts will say otherwise but that's my experience over 25 years of mowing lawns as a side business. I actually think side discharging works better because you can spread the clippings over a larger area and once you double cut, you reduce them further in size. Mulching to me works when the grass is in its dormant phase from mid June to late August/early September. Even then, I see that the grass seems to be unable to breathe if you constantly mulch. Grass clippings, despite the so called expert literature, takes a long time to decompose.

    • @MBGAdventures
      @MBGAdventures  Před 3 lety

      @@joeraptor1 If I can go slow and do it once and it looks mint, that is better than riding over the lawn multiple times trying to mulch up grass. I like you only use side discharge unless I am bagging. I don't use the mulch function really that often. Same thing, I think side discharge leaves the lawn looking better then mulching. Sounds like you have lots of experience. I am always learning!
