I live in Gainesville and to add some context to your comment, UF students protesting have never occupied a building, set up camp like a camping ground, harassed anyone with antisemitic comments, or vandalized anything. Not because politicians and the police warned them, but because they are intelligent and certain about what they hope to accomplish. Yet, they were met with harassment by police who hovered around daily, took their chairs, including a chair from a student with a disability, and water and arrested nine students for "trespassing". False charges. Holding signs, chanting, sitting on the lawn which students do every day and during events, and peacefully marching is not trespassing. They are exercising their first amendment rights which I understand republican politicians don't want liberal voters to do, especially not young adults and college students who vote.
I agree with desantis that security is important. Especially since according to the ADL, antisemitic incidents have increased to historic levels since 2022, largely attributed to right-wing extremist and white supremacist groups, not the protesting pro Palestinian college students. Perhaps he should spend more time focusing on making Florida safer from those groups.

Yea. Gov DeSantis dependably advocates for continuing no texture on campus and being a responsible receipient of $145 million from AIPAC (fact). Acvordingly, he energetically supports:
      ......crushing people under concrete
      .......infantacide
      .......murdrring women
      .......starving families on purpose
      .......dehydrating families on purpose
      ......zip tie executions
      ......solitary confinement for no reason
      .......absolute support for arms makers
You think repubs and dems differ on Gaza? Not when the AIPAC money spiket is aimed at them.

$145 million and you sell your soul? Chump change in business culture.
