  • Finally! A Wing Chun Ring training method that doesn't teach bad habits!
    In this Wing Chun lesson, I'll show you the ONLY Wing Chun Ring training drill I (in good faith) can recommend for students to practice. Other Wing Chun ring training methods teach students to build a bad habit of pushing outward (AKA spreading/swiping energy).

    Thank you for the help. It is very hard to get people to try anything without the group. This is a good starting point. Growth is essential for the future.

    Is this like chi Sao ?

    • @sifuadamwilliss
      @sifuadamwilliss  Před 2 lety +2

      Some call the Wing Chun ring a chi sao ring. This is because there are similar motions when doing the ring to when doing chi sao. In the end, nothing is truly like chi sao except actual chi sao.

      It all depends on what material you want. I have a plastic one that works great. Just make sure it’s about 8-9inches

    First time post. Actually by mere happenstance I stumbled upon your video/channel by accident after a general keyword search "Wing Chun ring training" showed your ring vid alongside CZcams's vast plethora of choices.
    Your video is succinct, clear! Thank you.
    Briefly many many years ago my Tao Sifu used to teach us wing chun and only the very basic siu lim tau form only, as a compliment to his lineage of Northern Shaolin called School of Tao Chi. He's since retired. Years later I'm still intrigued by the Art, but never found a lineage that "felt right" without being literally bullied out the door.
    Question Sifu Williss: is an adult in his 50s too old to learn Wing Chun? I'll have to buy a ring at least; try your technique offered! Peace. Eric.

      You're never too old to learn Wing Chun. I currently have new students in the mid 70s.
