It’s so amazing because there’s been a huge push that starts in elementary schools to disassociate Americans from Africa and Islam as a whole. People are realizing now what has been going on for so long. Muslims are first to realize why Africa was never talked about in a positive light in “school days” the continent has so much diversity and beauty. Islam is the absolute truth. I now see Africa as a second home to me.

@@nobs997only religion? Some orthodox Jewish women choose to also cover their hair. I never hear any issues about nuns covering their hair, they’re actually highly respected for it. Google image “Mary”, there’s literally no picture of the mother of Jesus with her hair out. A lot of our grandmothers or ancestors would cover their hair with a scarf or hat. Just because it’s a practice that a lot of religions have gotten away from, doesn’t mean Islam is the only religion that believes in it.

Yes, I didn't mean any disrespect. I have seen/heard that there are some schools in Africa that do not allow the native languages to be spoken and even some parents that value "others" tongue more than the native language. I am A.A. a decendant of slaves whose ancestors were stolen from Africa and one way to make us disconnect and think less of our own is to take away the language/culture. Now I am trying to return to Africa and also take back the culture my ancestors were FORCED to unlearn. Many ppl from all nations come to America and some want to leave their culture and be "American", thinking less of themselves (their own culture). Anyway, I meant no disrespect. I didn't hear her name the native languages that they were learning so this is what started the conversation. I find it refreshing to know that while America has been led to believe they are so great, but it is Africans who are so great that they can and do speak so many languages and America is lucky if they can speak English properly @@Jazz-fg2dm

There are at least 10, most likely a lot more, local tribal languages spoken & some aren’t written languages. That’d be a difficult task to teach them all or even one in this setting without showing favoritism. Students learn the local languages through their peers, teachers (informally), communities, & from family members.
Just because you haven’t heard of something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist and just because something doesn’t make sense to you doesn’t mean it doesn’t make sense. Good thing your explanation isn’t required, but your thoughts/opinions have been noted
