Fun animal fact: Ducks shake their tails when they’re happy. They tend to do it when eating or drinking water
If i was a duck i would shake my tail at this comment. This is just too cute🥲
My pet duck Jemima shakes her tail when she sees me and sits down when she wants to be picked up and cuddled.
My ducks shake their tails at me when they see me. Plus my female duck quacks at me all the time. She will have a conversation with me when I'm going to let them out of their pen.
I was feeding ducks at a park (with duck food) and one did step eat food shake tail, then step forward eat shake tail.
This is my favorite fact, ducks are so precious
Fun fact: Plague doctors would slather their coats in bees wax to help protect against contaminated fluids from their patients. So yes, beekeepers and plague doctors are 100% dating.
with the knowledge they had about what caused sickness, they went ALL IN on their PPE
@mjamtinc9124 Actually yes. The masks were apparently so fully stuffed with herbes to keep out the bad smells that they actually became effective filters. Accidentally effective.
@@mjamin9124 Well it's either that or infect yourself and every patient you interacted with, leasing to a horrible agonizng death,

The concept of Wifi in hell just introduces the idea that half the trolls we interact with on the internet are actually already damned souls 😂
I accept this, on one condition. In Hell, they get the crappy Wi-Fi, and continually forget the password.
or maybe they’re actual demons messing with us on their time off/when they’re supposed to be actually working
and the other half are alien demi-gods from another univers-- wait
I came up with this the other day for later use in my stories before even seeing this. Different dimension, but this amplifies the hilarity. 😂
Lol
Hubs handed out candy last year as a plague doctor. (I'm immunocompromised, so we figured out a costume that would work for him to hand out candy while keeping me safe-ish.) The only one who recognized the costume was a pre-teen girl. The rest called him a creepy bird-man. Yes, he told the girl she'd been the only one to correctly identify him, and he gave her extra candy. Her dad was bemused by the whole thing. 😁
I have lost faith in humanity long ago, and this reinforces that.
The other sins have days...
Gluttony = Thanksgiving
Greed = Christmas
Lust = Valentines
Envy = Halloween (because you dress up as other people)
Sloth = New years (because of the procrastination of resolutions)
Wrath = St Patrick day (because of all the angry drunks)
I would like this, but it’s at 69, so I’m commenting like instead
@@bewolver6173 You can like now, someone ruined it
I love the fact I've been born on the day of wrath when I've been told multiple times that, even though I have a temper, I have some of the best self-control and awareness when it comes to my temper (I'll often stop arguments to let both parties cool down, per-se, so we can think through what we are doing and why we are doing it)
You forgot

Ooh, creative!👏👏
4:46 Fun fact: When Dracula disguised himself as a red-eyed wolf in the original novel, the town of Whitby decided to essentially 'adopt' him on the spot (they thought it was a dog). They were very sad when the wolf disappeared.
"Better write this down..."
XD
That is so goddam mother fucking cute.
Someone should write a story about a child who plays with Dracula in dog form, and their little heart breaks when he leaves. Then when Dracula finally gets killed, a little ghost pupper is always with the kid all through his life.
*sobs* Ghost pupper!!!
That does sound cute, if its true. 🤔
"But, strangest of all, the very instant the shore was touched, an immense dog sprang up on deck from below, as if shot up by the concussion, and running forward, jumped from the bow on the sand. Making straight for the steep cliff, where the churchyard hangs over the laneway to the East Pier so steeply that some of the flat tombstones-“thruff-steans” or “through-stones,” as they call them in the Whitby vernacular-actually project over where the sustaining cliff has fallen away, it disappeared in the darkness, which seemed intensified just beyond the focus of the searchlight."
"A good deal of interest was abroad concerning the dog which landed when the ship struck, and more than a few of the members of the S. P. C. A., which is very strong in Whitby, have tried to befriend the animal. To the general disappointment, however, it was not to be found; it seems to have disappeared entirely from the town."
Not true, it seems. Dog jumped off the boat and ran off, some SPCA members wanted to find it, but failed. 😔
15:35 I believe this is from a Terry Pratchett novel, Hogfather. It's about the Discworld equivalent of Santa going missing and Death filling in so the holiday spirit can stay alive. I highly recommend the film version of the story, it's really interesting and thought provoking.
@@RenTheWren The Hogfather was good, and Going Postal was ok, but I didn't like the other ones. David Jason is a good actor, but to me, he is not Rincewind.
But glad you liked them, anyway :)
The hogfather is one of my favorite movies
@krbthewitch It is 100% from the Hogfather. I love Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels, and Death is my favorite character in the entire series. Hogfather is possibly my favorite novel out of the series, as well as being a great movie.
I watch the Hogfather every Christmas. I love the Death family saga. Its too bad there isn't going to be any more.
Call the monster under the bed the “under the bed buddy” and I guarantee everyone in the world will have one in 24 hours
That's such a good name! I love it!
Monster Under the Bed should come in three sizes: Travel Monster (same size as ESD), Comfort Monster (pillow sized), & Full Support Monster (body pillow size).
@@mordenwyldanebonbolt8729
I imagine them being Black and rather flat (like a pillow) and kinda cat shaped, with friendly eyes who glow in the dark, so you can put it under the bed and see his friendly eyes look at you 😍
Fun fact! Cherubs aren't chubby little babies, they actually are described as protectors. So think like a super buff winged dude who also has a lion head, a bull head, and an eagle head in addition to the human head, and they have so many wings and probably also a flaming sword. So also pretty intimidating but hey at least they aren't a bunch of wheeling rings covered in eyes.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think the baby cherubs came about during the Renaissance, since humanism became a predominant theme in art.
Some people give them flaming swords.
Cherubim is the plural form of Cherub, at least, according to the Bible . But, yeah, they were terrifying animal-human hybrids according tot he bible. The literal verse in the bible describes them as such (the actual things from the Bible): And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of the cherub, and the second face was a human face, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.
They also had two sets of wings, one for flight and one for hiding their body. They also had straight legs and shiny bull hooves! Angels in the Bible are awesome compared to how media has depicted them for a long time.
And from my understanding, their role was simple, to keep Humans out of the Garden of Eden.
Also note that these aren't separate heads so much as four faces on the same head. One for the front, one for the right side, one for the back, and one for the left side. I forget which head is at which side, though
winged himbos ? 💖
Fun Marvel fact: Deadpool is pansexual and in some comics has a huge crush on Thor.
I don’t blame him
Can't blame him
Fun fact: In Norse mythology Loki is pretty busy getting it on - has two kids with Sigyn, 3 kids with Angrboða the mother of Monsters - all of whom are not surprisingly pretty much Monsters and then to go really wild pretended to be a Mare and got preggo from a stallion and gave birth to an 8 legged horse. Deadpool is a rank amateur in comparison to the god of mischief when it comes to pansexuality.

Where can I find this???
I had a terrible phobia of needles for more than 25 years of my life. Screaming, fainting, biting doctors. Then I had to learn to give myself weekly injections (crucial medication I needed) and that was horrid for many months, but then eventually fixed my phobia. I can now let others give me shots or draw blood.
Turns out that for me, the phobia was more about giving others control over my body. Have you ever tried picking up a syringe, just holding it to see if that triggers the phobia or if that only happens when somebody else approaches you with it? If you can hold the syringe, desensitization therapy might help?
I love how Click goes on a three-minute rant about fear and respecting people's phobias based on a webcomic joke about scarecrows; this is what I pay internet for

The skeleton Santa one is actually an extract from the book Hogfather by Terry Pratchett.
The Hogfather (fantasy santa equivalent) has disappeared so death steps in to make sure the belief doesn't completely die. It's an amazing book I 100% recommend it, the way death tries to understand humans is really cute.
Just came to the comments to see if anyone had mentioned this. Thoroughly recommend the Pratchett books in general, but especially those with Death in them!
I still miss him and his amazing storytelling.
And Discworld Death also likes cats... So cute.
The movie is great too
Hogfather is one of my favorite books. I stumbled across the movie once on TV and was like "....what am I watching right now?" and then learned it was a Discworld novel and had to have it. I read it every couple of years at Christmas time. It's got such a great message too.
For the phobia/fear bit of the video: I'm a Diabetic and I get a bunch of shots every day. When I'm with new people or some people I already know, I always warn them or I'll kinda shield myself before getting a shot. For me it's been 20 years of irritation and forced remembering so I don't die stupidly. For others it could be an entire trauma fit. I try to stay aware.
Cartoon I saw years ago had a couple of monsters lying under a bed and one of them's saying "Sometimes I get this horrible feeling that there's something in the bed above us..."
I read a book some time ago about Euryale, one of Medusa's immortal sisters. She wore a veil all the time to avoid petrifying people and had this one blind live-in servant... or at least, that's what Euryale thought. It turned out the servant wasn't blind at all. How did she avoid being petrified? The secret was that to be immune to the petrification effect, a person had to look upon the gorgon's face without fear.
Can you tell me which book it is?
@@davidpacheco268 Euryale by Kara Dalkey.

By the way, "Skeleton Santa" is from the book The Hogfather by Terry Pratchett and is one of my all time favorite books. This comic depicts a scene where DEATH stepped in as The Hogfather to give out gifts to children at a local mall and is very well done! I wish that artist had a little more attribution here because it's absolutely perfect! (The audiobook is fantastic and the movie as also pretty good)
I thought that was Soul Music, where Death tries to be a doting grandfather, but Susan's parents are worried about giving her a "normal" life.
Skeleton Santa was actually from the Discworld novels. Death took over for their version of Santa for awhile and he's very practical and logical. The girl asked for a sword and he saw no problem with giving it to her.
I remember whenever I was about 8, I was super scared that there might be a monster under my bed, and my art teacher said visualizing it might make me less scared, so I drew what came to my mind which ended up being a big fluffy green mouse with 10 little mice kiddos with red eyes and a wife rat, I got so happy about it that I didn’t wanna kick the family of magical ghost mice out from under my bed anymore so I would say goodnight to them for about a month until my fear was conquered, thanks mr hunt! There should be an 'under-the-bed' version of the emotional support demon that's all black and blue and purple and nighttime colours with stars in it's sparkly eyes, and maybe a slightly sleepy look, I'd buy one for my niece, my son, and probably several just for me, also bring back the original, I've never regretted not buying a plushie so much (I was too poor at the time)

The child then terrorizes the neighbors with the powers of his enslaved demon, so his parents call up a priest from the Church of Satan for an exorcism. The purpose of the exorcism isn’t to banish the demon from the child but to banish the child from the demon so it can just go home
@@ChaosGoblin.2003 It is pretty close to the plot of one of the episodes of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off, Angel. They got the demon out, hunted it down, and it begged for death. Said it had never possessed someone so "empty" and was ready to die now that it was free.

January - Sloth (everyone recovering from the holidays)
February - Lust (Valentine's)
November - Gluttony (Thanksgiving)
December - I'm arguing for envy, because so much of it is based around comparing yourself to others. How decorated your house is, how generous you are, what gifts you receive, etc.
Not sure about wrath. I'm thinking September because that's when school starts and summer ends?
And greed is selfish, so it claims every day belongs to it.
This is amazing!
So then June is pride but I could see wrath as also June because of all the "Christians"
This is great! I would posit that Envy could be July (beach bod/vacation jealousy), and wrath could be August (hottest month in N. Hemisphere = high tempers).
april taxes
December may also just be greed... Because then you have to spend the most money on this holiday and that holiday and new years and UGH

I feel you on the needle phobia. when i was 4, my brother hit me with a cow bell and split my lip open. Needed stitches. 1969, they didn/t give novacaine to small children... so instead 2 orderlies, a couple nurses and an intern held me down and stitched my lip up with me kicking and screaming the whole time. To this day, I have nightmares about having my mouth filled with needles, (making dental trips an exercise in terror) and vaccinations are an exercise in facing my fears....To this day, finding out i need a vaccination of some kind will break me out in a cold chill...
I think a good name for the under the bed demon would be "the sleepy support demon" and it should be wrapped in its own little blanket

That skeleton statue is close to the concept of death coming as a person for the deceased from Greek mythology. Thanatos was referred to as the most kind hearted of the gods, coming to release people from their suffering and guiding them to the other side. He wasn't killing people, they were already dead and just hadn't figured it out yet and he just didn't want them to keep being in pain.
So true about phobias being subjective. I have severe Lycopersicoaphobia, which is a fear of tomatoes. But when you tell someone of an odd phobia, for some reason people always feel like they have to test it for themselves, by shoving a bottle of ketchup in your face.
I don't get why people test it.
Like half the population has some level of arachnophobia, yet for any of the rarer ones, people act like people are lying. Lycopsicoaphobia is most likely a pain to live with without anyone "testing" it.
People are stupid
As someone who is afraid of raw chicken to the point of having panic attacks at the possibility of being exposed to it, I enjoyed what you had to say about personal fears
I bought the emotional support demon because of my general love for plushies, but I wasn’t expecting it to help quite as much as it has. I’ve never had any kind of privacy my whole life because of my family (mainly my mum). One of the very many problems I’ve had is my mum knocking on my bedroom to door, not to ask permission to come in, but to warn me she was about to come in anyway. As a result, I’m always paranoid and anxious, which contributes to my already severe insomnia. Having my emotional support demon facing my bedroom door while I sleep has helped me fall asleep quicker and sleep better in general. Thank you❤️

"people who are ok don't have to put this much thought into that question."
Well shit. I'm "ok" in the sense of, I'm healthy, I have a good life, my friends support and love me. but I'm also not ok because I'm having a hard time keeping up with my schoolwork, battling gender dysphoria, questioning everything I've ever done, but I also don't want to talk to my parents about it. I feel much better talking to friends about this kind of shit. Maybe that's because I know they understand that kind of stuff better, or maybe it's because I *chose* them as my people, I didn't get any say in who's my family. and whether or not they get to breath down my neck whenever I make a choice, or discover something, or take a risk. sorry if you read all of this, I wasn't expecting it to be this long.
"People that have to put that much thought into the question aren't okay." Hit me like a fucking truck and I almost started crying in public.

Fun fact: Vampires and Cats have been associated together in a few cases. I know it’s not the earliest example but in the early to late 1800’s it was believed in Britain (possibly Romania I’m not completely sure about that so take it with a gain of salt) that if a cat crossed over a newly buried grave or a body that the dead person would come back as a vampire
7:19 Yup, fear and phobias are definitely subjective. I literally watch when the nurse draws blood from me because I like to know exactly when it's safe to move my arm. The blood doesn't bother me in the slightest.
HOWEVER
You know bees? Those adorable little insects that carry nectar to their hives/nests to feed their young or their colony depending on the species?
Yeah I freeze up when I see one close to me. Literally cannot move. Neither fight, nor flight, but freeze. For no other reason than getting stung by one as a kid, I lose function at the sight of an IRL tiny insect with a barely-counted-as-venomous-and-nowhere-near-deadly sting.
28:51 I didn't know I needed this in my life, but now I wish someone made a movie out of it. Imagine the possibilities. I suggest the title "Good mourning, honey".
The conversation about phobias is a really important one to have. I have an extreme fear of dogs and most people, especially dog owners, just don't understand. I think if people were generally more open and honest about this stuff, even people who don't really deal with these sorts of things would hopefully gain a level of empathy and we could make the world easier to live in for everyone.
Preaching my kinda chior. Much luck to ya and people Are getting better at this. Some people just aren't there yet themselves. Hope ya have a good day/ night. And stay kind. ❤😅
I mean... I love dogs, but if you are genuinely afraid of them, I will try my best to not let mine come near you. It's nice to see people trying to get over it (I mean... Sometimes it's possible, right), but you don't HAVE to do it...
I don't think you'll be scared of my dog anymore though. He has been in an urn for a while
Most of my dogs have been sweethearts. I am afraid of fish due to texture reasons.
I used to walk my housemate's dog, and he was a very friendly boy, but I get that some people are scared of that. I find it sad, but I get it; I used to be scared of dogs as a kid, after having had one chase me home when I was very small.

As a kid and for some reason even now into my 20's i actually hold a genuine belief that it's possible to have a ghost friend just chilling at your house or smthing lol (always believed 1000% in the paranormal)
I often have a sensation of pressure behind my eyes when I go into old houses where people have died. I once could not force myself to walk into an ancient native American round house at a state park, and after I walked back out saw a sign saying they found a body buried under the front door when it was excavated. That was as far as I could force myself to enter the building. Do believe that some kind of presence sticks around after death.
@@gl15colyeah one thing that goes along with my paranormal beliefs is that YOU DO NOT F*** WITH ANYTHING EVEN REMOTELY RELATED TO NATIVE AMERICANS. Their stuff has always been the worst of the worst when it comes to paranormal stories and stuff I've heard about before...EVERYTHING from skinwalkers to elementals...dare I even say that that kinda stuff is even beyond even the paranormal.
I had a ghost roommate once! One of my relatives is actually an exorcist ( or at least was trained for it) and they explained to me that the ghost can’t really do anything and you just kinda have to treat it as an equal. ( they didn’t get rid of ghosts unless they were violent and threw things directly at them, for example)
When I first moved in with them I guess I was unfamiliar to them, so my stuff kept disappearing and papers were ripped off the walls until I introduced myself lol
Yeah I have a friend named Josh who is my little ghost friend
There are things in the Universe known as Dark matter and Dark Energy and they make up most of the Universe. The amount of the Universe we understand is miniscule compared to what we dont know. There's a very real possibility that both Dark Matter and Dark Energy are bleeds from other planes of existence that our senses are incapable of perceiving properly. So the paranormal might just be the normal.

A word of advice that I found really helped me if you have a fear of needles and have to brave one: Bring someone with you who you trust and who knows you well, and have them get you talking about something you like. A proper discussion tends to distract, and just rambling about a topic you know well without preparation can certainly take most to all your focus.
For example, I had to get a blood test done last week. I was kinda stressing (and by kinda, I mean I *was* stressing. A lot. I hate needles) and I was trying my hardest to look anywhere but my arm, when my mum goes, "Name every disney villain song you know" and it caught me so off guard I forgot half of them, and I started thinking to remember. Next thing I know, test was done and I didn't faint!
Hope this helps :)
I was in line for one of the covid shots. The lady before me was nervous about the jab, so I started talking about vapid stuff while she got it. Totally worked.
I sort of did this with my sister while she got her covid vaccine. I held her hand and talked to her about stuff to distract her.
My kids doctor used to tell my sister and me a story about a donkey walking through the desert and falling into a cactus while giving us our vaccines.
Never developed a fear of needles and still think about a donkey sitting on a cactus, when ever I need to get a shot. :D
I have the same fear, however nearly dying by anaphylaxis at 2 ½ has also lead to a fear of death. Its cool to know Click has the same fear.
I am an old woman who lives alone. My apartment is extremely haunted. I enjoy my ghost roomies the majority of the time. Sometimes they can be a pain, but they enjoy your videos, so they are quiet then. This duplex is a former morgue. I have several locals and ones from passed family and some that I picked up on travels. Some were vilified as demonic. However, they were just protecting the human they cared about. One has protected me the same way. Lovely piggie "demon". Just a pig ghost who in life loved their human and thinks it's their mission to find a human to love and look after again and again.
Thank you for talking about your phobia of needles. So often people belittle the fear and pretend it’s not a real problem. It means a lot to see other with the same struggle
I don't care if you fear the color pink, or Cthulhu himself, fear is fear and should be respected.
Not to be that guy, but, yes. Respect people's fears. Preach on my man. You're on the right track. ❤😅
I got made fun of at the hospital lab for needle fear. Just because someone is an adult doesn't mean fear is over.
The phobic condition is considered to be an anxiety disorder. Ridicule or not taking it seriously, is the same as if you would do it about someone with dementia or dyslexia.
The fear reaction, is the same as the rest of us would fall from a great hight or meeting a big black bear in the woods, the fact that the reaction comes from another thing, is exactly why it is a condition, an never the individuals fault. It can cause great distress, so why not take it as serious as it is ?
@@roberthpilesund384 as a paranoid person I get scared of very weird things. And half the time they don't treat it as serious. Because they can't understand How I could be afraid of something that "doesn't exist."
So.... Because they can't understand why mainly I think. If they knew Why and could hear the whole story then they Would change their minds.
It's just hard for people to understand it.
But that doesn't excuse it. I'm still just as scared regardless. So.... Respect fear. It Always comes from Somewhere. Even if that somewhere is just illness....

I love how Click can start rambling and come up with new merchandising ideas.
I'm surprised he hasn't put the emotional support demon under the bed yet. (Mine fell there one time, I got a picture of him looking up out of the darkness at me.)
I'd like to point out that in the death metal story hour post they have the aesthetic (and burning churches, sacrificing goats) that is associated with black metal. the "makeup" style is called corpsepaint. technically you can wear corpsepaint and play death metal or other genres but it's very rare outside of black metal. and as a huge metalhead I approve either way.🤘
The pure joy when you saw the emotional support demon post was so heart warming

12:20 Well, there was Sekhmet. She was an Egyptian cougar goddess (cat-girl) that used to drink the blood of her enemies, until she went a little too bloodthirsty and almost killed everyone.
Didn't Ra dye the Nile red so that she would think it was blood and she was tricked and drank so much that she passed out?
@@LadyLabyrinth1337- actually, they invented beer and made so much that the Nile flooded with beer - she drank the beer and collapsed from drunkenness
Yep - beer was invented specifically to stop a cat girl :3
@@LadyLabyrinth1337 Yes, actually. I was just running low on time 'cause my family was going shopping soon.
And that's how we got beer
There are a few versions of the story - One that she's Hathor the celestial Divine Cow goddess of the sky, the sun, the queen, music, and the arts who Ra askes to transform into the Lioness Sekhmet to punish certain people but when she does she gets bloodlust and goes on a killing spree - when she gets drunk she falls asleep and when she wakes back up hungover she is Hathor again.
"The two goddesses, raging Sekhmet and content Hathor, act as two sides of the same nature, extreme expressions of a single passion, the rage that can be coaxed back to placidity, or the love that turns to hate."

I only would advise to not actually start with The Color of Magic and The Light Fantastic, OR be willing to keep reading beyond those before deciding if you like the series since, the humor in those two novels feels so different from the rest. Which, I guess makes sense that I am would be notably different, I would be the first ones published.
That "Skeleton Santa" was a scene from the book Hogfather by Terry Pratchett, really good book, I highly recommend you check it out as well as other books by Sir Pratchett (he was knighted in 2009). Also the books are very standalone, no need to try reading them in order, trust me you are going to hurt yourself if you try putting his works in any sort of order.
There's a few reading order flow charts out there but starting with Mort and reading through the Death series is a good option.

2:38 theres a comic book about a kid and a monster that become friends, the monster is like wayyy too nice to be scary etc
I had a couple of thoughts for the under the bed monster name:
Dusty - it's a "vorpal rabbit" (a dust bunny with big sharp nasty teeth...and possibly horns.)
Or Crawley/Crawly or some such - either a centipede style or spider style critter with something ... extra lol.
I did like the suggestion of the 'Night-Mare' given also.
If you wanted, you could do a rug instead of a plushy, since they go on the floor and sometimes under the bed. Maybe in the style of a bear skin rug, but a bed monster.
I may have to try to draw these. Lol gotta love when my imagination is tweaked. 😁
I'd avoid the Crawly name as too close to Alistair Crowley (spelling?) who was NOT one of the nicer occultists.
My cat's spirit looked at me around the bathroom door, peeping as they do, checking in on me just before crossing over. Kinda like she was making sure I was ok and getting my permission to cross. So sweet.
