Hello everyone,
in this video I not only announce the winner of the adjustable wrench, but I mainly build a box for the giveaway of one of the last videos.
I'm using wood scraps from the transport box of the sandblasting cabinet. I've already used it for the restoreation battle with Mister Patina.
First I make a herringbone board out of the plywood. With this wood design board I can then continue. I cut side panels out of the board with my xtool P2 laser cutter. I got the laser cutter from makeblock. I already tested it for the first time and did the xtool p2 review in the last video and am now pushing it to the limits of a laser cutting machine.
After I have made the side panels, I make the top and bottom plates out of veneer wood, which i glue into plywood.
Now I can assemble everything into a beautiful wood design. Of course this journey of reclaiming wood almost ends in a desaster. But I can fix my mistakes and in the end can reward myself with an Italian beer, I received from my Patreons Angel and Luca.

I saw that happening with the magnets. Always put the first of the second group in without glue and test!
Humble suggestion. Add some foam to the top of the box. (Safety in transport more than anything) Well done.
I think I saw a trick for getting nice and even laser cuts.
Basically it involved making the board a couple of millimeters taller, like one or two, and use the planer to evenly cut the bottom clean off and get nice cuts
Only those of us that have done something so simply dumb, felt the pain of that realization!
I, also, said to myself as I watched you place them, "Oh boy, I hope he doublechecked the polarization."
Brilliant fix, though. It turned out to be a great handle feature. Happy accidents!
nice box, as soon as you put in the magnets I was concerned, I print little d&d magnet boxes and it's the worst part lol. Keep up the good work!

Box turned out really well! I like how the oil finish brings out the contrast. A finishing touch would have been to make a foam liner for the lid. You could have used the contrasting foam in layers to cut your logo into it to match the layered wood top, and it would keep the tool inside more secure. Congratulations to the winner!
My though was a piece of heavy flannel or velvet on top of wrench like in a violin case.

Maybe I would have made a closed box and later opened it in half with the disc saw, that saves assembly work in half and makes everything fit better. Anyway thanks for entertainment

Buy the "Ichnusa Cruda" next time. That one seems to be a far better version of the beer you drank. It's apparently treated raw.

Gorgeous work NTR! Even the mistake (I saw it happening and yelled at my screen to stop!) you made the fix look like it was your original plan. How many hours did you put into the case? I want to be you when I grow up!
I would have added champers around the corners. Currently seems a bit to bulky for me.
You say that this box will do for a giveaway like it's not a gorgeous piece of woodworking holding a well restored tool. 😅 When you were done i found myself reaching for my wallet so I could order one! Might want to consider that in the future.
