    Simply put coilovers are for actual performance, especially off road, and lifts are for when your definition of off roading is going down a dirt road in the South. One is performance, one is for looks. I would say save your money with the coilover if you just want to be cool and mostly drive on road. If you're hitting rocks, logs, streams, etc. then go for coilovers.

    Don't forget the ongoing maintenance required with most coilovers; seals & oil need to be changed periodically (every 20k miles) vs. much less (if ever) with struts.

    • @CustomOffsetsTV
      @CustomOffsetsTV  Před 5 lety +1

      Like most suspension components they wear out as fast as how they are being used. A coilover shock will last a lot longer if only driven on the street vs only driven offroad, as the same goes for with a regular strut.

I recommend camburg upper control arms with either option. Also the 14 f150 has a different lower mount style than an 09-13 so keep that in mind that an 09-13 kit won’t work on a 14. You guys forgot to mention if coilovers give you longer suspension travel

    • @CustomOffsetsTV
      @CustomOffsetsTV  Před 5 lety +1

      That would depend on if you buy a coilover with more travel than factory. A standard lift, however, will not increase travel.

    Stupid question...you have an Icon 1.5”-3.5” stage one kit on your website....can you enunciate more as to what that does? Obviously 1.5-3.5” would present itself as a lift but with just coil overs??

    • @CustomOffsetsTV
      @CustomOffsetsTV  Před 4 lety +1

      That just means the kit can be adjusted between 1.5 - 3.5 inches for height. Lift kits will come with everything included unless stated otherwise

    You guys are strong believers in the rough country brand huh?
    They been around for years so they must be doing something right. However, I've spoken with numerous f250 diesel owners that have these lifts on. And they say Rough country lives up to the name "Rough". Ride quality isn't there Like a BDS lift. But the price difference is nuts though.

    Hey custom offsets! Is there a huge difference between the FOX 2.5 coilovers vs RCs Vertex Coilovers?? the obvious one is a $700 difference. There has to be more..

    • @GunnersInTheHouse
      @GunnersInTheHouse Před 5 lety +1

      2 inch level will keep that, normally a 3 in lift is gonna mess with the geometry just a little. its nothing much, but if you dont wanna affect that at all, a 2 inch level is gonna be your best bet.
