Everyone WANTS coilovers for their truck, but are they worth the money? In today's video, Dustin goes over what makes a coilover different from a shock, why they’re more expensive, and more importantly, why they are worth the investment. Comment below with your thoughts on coilovers and as always, like, share, and subscribe.
What do coilovers do on a truck?
A truck coilover is a combination of a coil spring and a shock absorber that supports the weight of your vehicle. What separates a coilover from a strut is the adjustability that allows you to adjust the height of your vehicle and its ride quality.
Benefits of a Truck Coilover System
Smoother ride than a standard lift kit
    More adjustability for ride quality
    Replace factory suspension system
No additional strain on factory suspension geometry
    Are Truck Coilovers Worth It?
Overall coilovers for trucks are performance-oriented which usually translates into more dollars, but if you’re serious about performance, then coilovers are likely the best fit for your ride.

I have the fox 2.0 coil over level kit with rear shocks on my 2018 f150 and it's insane the difference it makes down dirt roads and even just in town your driving. It handles washboard so much better now it doesn't want to skip anymore and feels super planted. I love coil over kits and recommend them to anyone looking for a smoother ride

Did that require new UCA's ? Were you looking to level a standard F-150 and at the same time improving your suspension for light weight off roading and daily driving ? What kind of cost did you wind up paying ?

I did 2 inch vertex coilovers with zone off-road UCAs and vertex rear shocks on my 2017 F150. I ended up with 2.5 in of lift in the front and sit perfectly level and have 295/70/17 on a 17X9 -12 wheel. It’s a great looking set up that rides amazing on the street and I can run around the orchards at 45-50mph when I crank the vertex up. I think you can tell I was going for more of a preruuner style build.

On my 2023 F150 for 4 days now I have had my 6" Rough Country Lift with VERTEX Coil-overs and BDS Upper Control Arms in the front and VERTEX remote reservoir shocks in the rear. The ride is amazing. Better than stock in my opinion. was out looking for those nasty patches of road to test them out. Just beautiful. I have to be honest when talking street application, I like them better than FOX. Rough Country is a serious competitor in this area now. They are that good. I noticed they improved with driving also. My experience, they do break in, within 300 miles on and off road all shake in the steering was gone and the ride was smooth as silk. For on road I have the front set to 3 and the rear set to 1 with no load in the back.

I have front and rear vertex on a six inch lift on a Ram 1500. Upgraded the lower and upper control arms and beefed up the sway bars. Before all of it the truck just felt unstable going down the high way around turns and in a straight line. Driving over 70 mph was def not recommended. Now? Ive taken that thing over 100 Mph and hit some pretty gnarly turns. Ive passed other lifted trucks and I know they were tryin to figure out how in the fk is that guy moving so fast down the road without crashing into shit? Once it gets on uneven roads it handles like a dream. I usually adjust the stiffness when traveling on the roads and soften it when I go into rural areas or urban areas with a lot of potholes . So, YES they def worth the money.

Hey hopefully you guys read my comment I just want to let you know that a lot of these trucks that are two wheel drive are compatible with four wheel drive coilovers I drive a 2013 Ford f150 and for years I have called many shops including yours and they always told me that there's no 6-in lift strut for my two wheel drive but rough country makes one for a four-wheel drive and it fits perfectly belstein just came out with 6-in lift strut for my truck and it's labeled as four wheel drive so what I have to do is spend my own money and experimented with both of these companies and guess what they both fit perfectly no issues better right quality 2013 Ford F-150 was the odd year because even rough country makes the vertex coilovers but those are for 2014 and up you could take out the lower amount with the pushing and then press in a regular bushing with the eye going through it and converted for the 2013 I hope somebody that has the same truck as mine reads this comment I'm pretty sure that a lot of coilovers that are only meant for a four wheel drive application also fair to two-wheel drive I don't have the money like you guys do to buy things to make videos and to experiment but I have to do it myself
