My father was an old time plumber and used to make flashings for vents etc from sheet lead. I can only just remember it. Other than making sinkers that is the only other thing I have ever had anything to do with lead. John
LOL! As kids we used to melt down the old batteries in a tin, pick up the tin with fencing pliers and tip the lead into a suitable ring spanner held down by your mate with a lump of bent number 8 wire in the centre for the hole. Pretty rough but worked OK for the bit of reef fishing we ever did. 😉😊
I use pebbles off the beach. drill them with a masonary bit then epoxy a wire loop in. They're great if you're fishing over a snaggy mark. No hardship if you lose any. Thats a great idea for a lead mould ............cheers
They are prohibiting lead sinkers 2.5 inches or less in length or weighing 1 ounce or less after July 1 2026, in my State. You ARE a true sculptor John!
they look good to me John, l would use them no worries what we use when we are at a snaggy place where we lose a few is old spark plugs that are no good any more thanks for the video John
Thanks John. Nice work. I have never worked with Lead. Jim

I think just about everything has been used as a mould. John

Awesome
Thanks. John
As kids we used pipi , cockle and mussel shells for moulds .
Pipis were the bait of choice as kids. Straight off the waves' edge and down a Sand Whiting's gullet! Those little fellahs were great tucker!
Much along the same lines we used an old spoon then drilled a hole in the narrow end for the line. John

Good idea lad I will have a crack at it ,they might not get snagged as much as snapper leads
Snapper leads are a bugger for getting hooked up. John
