    I think Wayne Knigjt was solid in this one and in Basic Instinct. We already knew he could do comedy but he proved his versatility by shining in drama as well.

    Too bad, Bill and Chris weren't here for this episode! I rewatched Jurassic Park earlier, tonight. It still holds up. Between the T-Rex attack and the raptors chasing Alan, Ellie and the kids through the building. I laughed during that part. Then, the T-Rex saved the day.

    So no one’s going to mention the looney toons “slip” sound employed for Nedry after his Jeep got stuck? Or what about Malcom saying he has 3 kids, but in the very next movie, he only has one adopted daughter? Also, the animal sound engineering stuff was incredible. There’s a crazy story about the “dolphin scream” that was used for the raptors.

    • @blakeharris58
      @blakeharris58 Před 3 lety +1

      I'm positive the looney tunes sound was the tow cable rewinding into the coil.
      Also, Malcolm mentioned having several ex-wives so Kelly could easily have been one *of* his kids. As I remember the movie, Kelly says specifically "you like to have kids, you just don't like to spend time with them" implying that she has (half-)siblings elsewhere. He may have just been most recently married to her mother before dating Sarah.

    Like other commenters have mentioned, Schindler's List came after this and was a homerun for Spielberg but I get what they are saying, Spielberg made a name for himself with Jaws and the Indy movies and this (Jurassic Park) is in the same masterpiece milieu

  • @gf4670
    @gf4670 Před 4 lety +2

    Probably, at least on the level of Raiders or ET or Jaws, etc. I know a lot of people would say Saving Private Ryan but that movie has too many glaring story and even directing problems for me. Others might say Catch Me If You Can or Minority Report, which I think is the last time he actually tried. But everything since has been a hodgepodge of mostly misses that were only relevant because of his name. Lincoln was the only really good one but it was also safe and carried by DDL.

      We don’t! That’s why I can’t take the question serious at all! Even as incredible as JP was when it was released…1993 was a pretty triumph year for Spielberg, right? That same damn calendar year. The question expired immediately after it was asked.

    Schindler's list came out about five months later, so no. Plus, both of his 2002 films are great, and I really liked most of War of the Worlds, Munich, and Bridge of Spies. Excited for West Side Story, too. Actually A.I. had cool aspects, too, although the amount that were legacy from Kubrick is debatable.

    After this, spielberg made schindler's list, amistad, saving private Ryan, a.i, minority report, catch me if you can, Munich, tintin, Lincoln, bridge of spies, the post, and ready player one. And I really enjoyed Indy 4, even if it got more than its fair share of crap thrown at it. So, no, Spielberg was still cranking out great films after, and he is still is. Although his remake of West side story might be the first film of his I am not really looking forward to.
