“I make myself a giants turkey sandwich, I go to the mirror, and I yell ‘YOU’RE THE BEST!’”
I’ve watched this entire breakdown at least 10 times. lol This is exactly the content I expect from the upper echelon of The Ringer. I listen to Amanda and Sean every week and Chris is the man.
No one I'd rather listen to talking about movies
Amanda, Sean, and Chris are all so talented in different ways. Crazy what they pulled off this year, putting out consistently entertaining content.
We are all CR Heads.
"I was ready for it...I'm not running from this fight" LMAOOOOOO
I love these podcasts. Not only are they entertaining and informative in their own right, they are useful in compiling a viewing list. If these guys rate a film as rewatchable, then I’m definitely going to take their recommendations seriously.
I’ve gone straight from the podcast to the film in question on a number of occasions now, and it’s been worth it every time. The Rewatchables/Ringer is like having your own private vetting service, and I’m very grateful for it. Thank you!
The bit between 1:14:36 and 1:16:56 is amazing
I love this entire crew. I’m so glad they began to record and put on CZcams! Great content! 💜💜
The khaki part killed me
These 3 together are eye watering funny. I love them!
YOU’RE THE BEST!!!! 🦃🦃🦃
“Fucks this movie up so hard” Is such a great explanation for Bardems character intro 👍🏼👍🏼
I have listened to The Ringer podcast for almost 3 years. And I finally decided to look up what the wonderful Sean and Amanda looked like. I am such big fans of these two. Oh and Chris Ryan is fantastic too.
So which is your favourite Bond film?
Big James Bond fan: "They're all kind of a blur to me"
Dan Parr Casino Royale
1:05:00 is funny af. “I won’t argue that I have a superior mind.” Awesome monologue, Fennessey. Lol 😂
Simmons taking a load management day.
This is my favorite Ringer video that doesn't have Bill or Ryen. Good job guys~
The three best Bond movies: Casino Royale, Goldfinger and On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
No GoldenEye?
Very enjoyable...Thanks folks.
My personal favorite movie of all time. Never left the cinema happier.
Skyfall Rewatchables BEFORE The Rock?!? COMPLETE THE HOLY TRINITY, RINGER!! Complete the trilogy!!
Most critically acclaimed bond movie? Nah Casino Royals definitely has it slightly beat
So cool of soderbergh to do this pod. Amazing!
My one rewatchable Bond movie is Diamonds are forever. Campy masterpiece.
My favourite Bond too!
Casino royale is the best bond mov6
There's films like Skyfall that just scream " everybody involved knows exactly what they're doing, all of us have the same goal, all of us are mature and clear-headed "... It gets cold in the room when you turn the movie on, just from the vibe, and you relax, because everything's perfect, there's no emotional friction, you just know you're about to admire the art form for two hours
Maybe not so much the writers though…
4:31 I have to disagree massively here, Chris Cornell's You Know My Name is one of the most fitting and exhilarating songs for James Bond origin movie
I agree with you. Don’t get me wrong I like Adele’s song, but I’ve always thought that You Know My Name was fantastic. I think what makes it so great is that it’s has a great energy to it, but it doesn’t try to be a corny pop song like Die Another Day was.
Dobbins mentioned Spiderverse... when are we getting the first animated Rewatchables?
I’m all the way down! Especially for spiderverse
We literally see, in this movie, the headstones for Bond's parents and both of them have the "Bond" surname. Skyfall was the first Bond movie to canonically make "James Bond" the character's real name.
My fav Bond flik.
Great movie
Hi there,
I’m fairly new to this channel,
And I love this content, but I’ve been looking for the video versions, but the older episodes are only the in audio, for example “The Departed “ episode I’ve found a small clip so it was recorded on video,
Please send me in the right direction …
Greetings from a new fan from Denmark….
Casino Royale was a lot more original, suspensful, believable and unexpected.
No, that would go to The Living Daylights.
Agreed. Although I liked Skyfall a lot, it's still not as good as Casino Royale.
The end of Skyfall, at the house, is probably the most artistic and beautiful part of any Bond film
Just the Sean Connery ones
No doubt great reboot of the series.
SKYFALL AND CASINO ROYALE ARE GREAT BOND FILMS..😊
1:01 I don't think it is more critically acclaimed than the 2006's Casino Royal or 1964's GoldFinger
Top Ten Bond films imo
1) Skyfall
2) License to kill
3) Goldeneye
4) On her majesty’s secret service
5) Casino Royale
6) Goldfinger
7) The Spy who loved me
8) The Living daylights
9) You only live twice
10) From Russia with love
I agree with Chris. Kano would be an awesome 007
James Norton would be a brilliant Bond. Just watch McMafia and Happy Valley as examples of him being able to do both sides of Bond.
Well I was not expecting to hear Kano mentioned when I put this on!
Is it cold in the studio?
I love Adele’s song for this movie, I absolutely love it, but I don’t appreciate how there was no discussion about it being the best Bond song. I think it’s up there and in the conversation, but I don’t think it’s fair to dismiss all the other great songs in this franchise.
I’m shocked they didn’t talk about Goldeneye especially with Sean Beans character who I think is just as much of a fleshed our villain as Javiar Bardems
Trevelyan is the best Bond villain besides Blofeld. Silva was hokey to me.
Pacific Rim is a fucking awesome movie.
Chris can you do 1991 run Eve of Destruction and Howard the Duck
Big Bond fan here, but this movie is not one of my favs. Skyfall looks great, acting is all good, Bardem is pitch perfect as Silva, but I can't stand Judy Dench in this movie. She's the real bad guy. She abandons both Bond and Silva. Leaves them both for dead. She complains throughout the entire movie. When she's not complaining, she's reading pretentious poetry. Killing her off was the best part of the movie. The action is typical action movie stuff. The plot makes no sense and is full of holes. The movie takes itself far too seriously. They portray Bond as over the hill in just his 3rd outing. For me, it's the Bond movie that keeps falling down the ranking every time I watch it. Casino Royale is still the best Craig Bond film by far.
I agree with almost everything you said but I guess it's all about preferences. Judi Dench's M character is how most governments treat their secret service agents or soldiers. And she did have a justification for it with the negotiation for Sino British relations (which unfortunately mirrors real life). Not saying what she did was entirely right though. The plot was full of holes for sure but the themes of the movie were what they were more focused on I guess (similar to Dark Knight Rises). And it would have been much better to see Bond in his prime in between Skyfall and Quantum, but I also feel maybe we've seen it too many times in other Bond films already like Sean Connery.
Most Bond films haven't gotten close to how good Casino Royale was as of yet and it's absolutely Craig's best performance in every way.
@@TwistVisuals Good to hear from someone who doesn't fawn over this film. I see your point about M being a bit of a prick towards her agents, goes with the territory, but she's still insufferable in Skyfall. The scene where they're in the Astin headed for Scotland, and she's complaining, again, and Bond threatens to use the ejector seat to shut her up, and she says..."Oh go on then, eject me. See if I care", drives me nuts. It's the most juvenile line in the whole of Bond. Had it been my finger on that trigger, bitch would have flown. Cheers!
@@TagusMan hate to say I agree with you on the M part. She just doesn’t come off good in this movie. I get that she has to be tough and all but the poetry and how she acts in this movie does not age well.
Spiderverse rewatchables please
Roger Deakins.
0:44 na, it was casino royale
nah
@@JS-ri8qc ya
moresources I agree
Whoever dressed Daniel Craig for this movie should have their license revoked. Bond in suits that are two sizes too small. After the perfection of Tom Ford's work in Quantum this was heartbreaking.
Aaron Taylor Johnson probably. He could play a future Bond really well. Emily Blunt would be a great M.
I want to see Tom Cruise vs Will Smith in a 400 yard dash.
These guys do my head in
Why does each person cross their arms only when they're speaking?
Casino Royale is the best
Most of their rewatchables aren't even rewatchable
I would marry Dobbins simply for her voice. Make it happen Ringer
Thank Jason Bourne and 9/11 for Daniel Craig’s bond. Die another day was an utter joke and would have been bad even without 9/11.
Next Bond is Dev Patel
Adele should have been their new Shirley Bassey.
No way. She can’t hold a candle to dame Shirley Bassey don’t you ever insult Shirley.
Casino Royale is a much better movie and honestly, it's not even that close. Still, really like Skyfall but the third act is not great on rewatches, doesn't feel like a bond movie at all, and logically makes very little sense.
Enjoyable episode.
I do wish at times your understanding of film and acting went a little deeper but your enthusiasm more than makes up for it. One caveat. Ms. Dobbin's voice was at times just hella grating. I strongly encourage her to listen to the episode. Really really tough going.
“A British spy from Scotland”
You are aware people from Scotland are British?
And you're aware that Scotland is in Britain?!
If he'd said an English spy from Scotland you may have had a point.
Scotland itself is stunning in this movie
The first 4 James Bond films with Sean Connery, as well as Casino Royale with Daniel Craig is the elite features of the entire franchise. Skyfall is a couple of notches below those.
All time CR episode
As much as I like the conversations, I honestly wished they actually had somebody who appreciates or gets the Bond franchise. Then the conversation would have had different perspectives. To me Timothy Dalton is my favorite James Bond and his two Bond movies are some of the better movies, but nobody really pays attention to those and give all the credit to Daniel Craig but we had a darker Bond 19 years ago from 2006 and at that time everybody wanted the Sir Roger Moore styled movies
I dunno, it's not a Top 10 Bond Movies episode of the Big Picture, it's a Rewatchables about one movie. I think not being a Bond head is a necessity here.
@@Killericon I think it is a necessity. Because they are also comparing different eras of Bond as well. And they need information about the other actors as well.
@@tashrif46
They're reviewing the movie not the franchise, tbf.
@Derek Lawson but if someone knows what the franchise is, wouldn't they have a better understanding about each individual movies and the characters in it?
Didn’t feel Javier Bardem was great. He killed the movie for me. Casino Roayle is the best!
Yeah he was too flamboyant to be menacing.
Everybody should be looking for 74:30
The difference between classic Bond is say the realist fight on the train between Sean Connery and Robert Shaw, and Daniel Craig almost smashing a train up and causing innocent deaths and just doing up his shirt. It’s nonsense total nonsense. I reckon it appeals to younger people who accept any foolishness. Saying that Daniel Craig is a great Bond!
CR is the Beanie King
Emily Blunt for M
You should have done Casino Royale
They just did it. It's on CZcams.
Disagree with Amanda, Roger Moore is my 2nd favorite Bond. Craig is best
Wish people would stop talking about bond being a woman. Thats like discussing tom hardy being cast as the next Lara Croft. It's a male character, they'll cast a bloody man because he is a man ffs! Is there something wrong with that?
It amazes me that Americans can't pronounce Craig! It's an A in the middle.
First
Skyfall can in no way be the best Bond movie since it contains the most unrealistic, ridiculous, nonsensical plot gaff in movie history. Silva has proved to be a resourceful, intelligent villain, yet Bond tells Q to leave bread crumbs to lead Slylva to M and himself WITH ABSOLUTELY NO MEANS POSSIBLE TO PROTECT THEM!!!! He knows nothing of the place he is leading Silva too and has no weapons, agents, gadgets, or resources whatsoever there to protect anyone. Oh, no, wait, he has an old man and, if I remember correctly, an old rifle. On what planet does this make any sense? This is a monumental bad writers error and keeps what could have been a terrific realistic Bond film to be, at best, a flawed entertainment.
Nothing about the plot makes any sense at all. Goes to show how little a logical or coherent plot matters compared to flashing lights and compelling actors.
I think with Silva and his police goons they were supposed to show that mi6 and the police were compromised and heading to Skyfall was the only way. The movie does a bad job of explaining it though
Mallory didn't do it for me as the new M in the last 2 movies. Very boring character
I can't believe how much disrespect you guys are showing to Casino Royale. It's got a better score on both IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes, and it's widely considered by fans as one of the very best Bond films.
Can’t stand Amanda Dobbins
It is a dark knight joke rip off
This movie sucks in hindsight. Casino Royale only gets better.
Strongly disagree. This movie holds up in every way. Casino Royals is still great though.
Girl, you crazy
Like American Beauty, this is a film that was loved at the time, but will be remembered as a hugely overrated film.
What are you talking about man American Beauty is still awesome.
And American Beauty is much better. This is one of the most overrated movies I can think of from the last few years.
Rewatchables is irrelevant without Simmons
I agree with you guys on. a lot of things but the ongoing under-appreciation/hate of Joker on the Big Picture is absurd and maddening. No, I'm not some Marvel Stan - I'm simpatico with Marty on those movies overall. Joker is a masterpiece with so much to it which I'll be watching for years and which affected many people I know (including women of all ages) on a deep level. Skyfall is an extremely well-shot, empty, hollow, BORING movie that I couldn't wait to end and will never, ever watch again. It is "don't-bother-watchable.".
Aight bro
Joker is an unnecessary movie. Taxi Driver is better and deeper in every single possible way. It explores the same themes and more (like racism, politics, what it means to be a hero/do the right thing). It still remains hopeful on human nature. Plus, the visuals and soundtrack are much more iconic. Mix taxi driver with the king of comedy and you have Joker. Joker is mediocre in my opinion. Of course, you might be seeing something I’m not in Joker.
Skyfall was garbage in my opinion.
