I spit out my drink the first time i saw a fursuits price but it's honestly really understandable why they're so expensive. A maker puts so incredibly much work into a suit its insane.

I was talking to my mother's cousin about fursuits and when I showed him a picture of a head he was like "woah, probably hard as damn to make"
One time some guy tried to argue with me that fursuits were easy to make and that they were way overpriced, I explained how difficult it is just to have the original character part for some. Not even making a physical object but then I eplainrd that too. They didnt say anything after that. Lol
@@naomigwolfe8112 Good on you. I didn't realize how difficult making one is until I started my own. I'm on the second taping stage and I'm both dreading and looking forward to cutting out the pieces and furring the head. It's going to be tedious and I might mess up, but I'll be done with the head and I find hand-sewing relaxing.

Now that I actually know how to properly make a head, it looks easier than I made it out to be. I was making a huge fuss about how I don't think I could ever get the foam base to look right, or I'd mess up the fur or something, etc. I'm starting my first head today and I'll probably post a video somewhere. Coming from a beginner I would shave the pieces before searing them all together because it was a lot easier for me and I chickened out of shaving it when it was on the head when I made my first obe
Shaving it before or after sewing is up to you. Nothing is more wrong than the other. It's just what you prefer, and I prefer after sewing

Is it necessary to sew the fur together before gluing? I assume if you didnt, then after shaving you would see spaces in between pieces, but i figured id ask

If, after cutting the fur, there's cut off fur covering the head, use one of those de-shedders that you roll on furniture with shed fur on it to clean up the mess. it'll mess up the fur, though, so you have to brush it after
Lint rollers work too. Or maybe you mean those?
What clippers do you use? I've tried a few but don't really like how it turns out but yours seems to work well!

I know this comment is late but what size of trimmer did you use for the front of the fursuit head?
Is there anyway to stop the seams from showing when you shave the head? (apart from gluing them)
My dad wants to use some kind of spray on adhesive glue spray to stick my fur to the head base. Would that work?
I haven't tried myself so I can't say
It would fall apart quickly, that stuff is meant for paper projects that won't be handled often
@Bastion -3362 most spray glue is meant to hold paper together, like scrap booking or gluing paper to poster board, I don't think it's meant to hold fur and foam together, both heavy weight material, for long periods of time, as it's very thin.
@@marxgalacticambition7023 fabric glue would work in theory but it doesn't have any initial "grab" like hot glue does. That's why makers usually use hot glue, it grabs and dries fast so you can keep working
