  • How did Egyptologists decipher hieroglyphics? Jean-Francois Champollion started working on decoding the ancient Egyptian writing when he was 9 years old at the end of the 18th century. When the Rosetta stone was discovered, he was able to decode the script and read the inscriptions. This opened up the world to a wealth of ancient knowledge and history as other scholars tackled the mysteries of Babylonian, Sumerian, Ugaritic, Hurian and Assyrian.

    I think the selection of Hieroglyphs depends on the one choosing them. After all it's likely that styles change depending on men or women doing the work or emphasis depicted.

    Use the Welsh language to read the hieroglyphs however you should use an old version of the Welsh language dictionary ,more acurate than Champilion.

    I wonder when the sea people fit in all this stories about Egypt, I thought the invasion of the sea people had a big influence on egyptian history yet sea people are not mention at all in all of Dr Neiman´s videos about Egypt, maybe in the 90´s they were called hyksos or something else?

      According to Dr. Neiman, the Hyksus were the Amorites (Cannanites) and i find it very reasonable.

    what's funny to me is that the so-called Egyptians that's over there in that part of the world can't even read the hieroglyphs themselves before the deciphering of Jean

      Simply because the people who currently live in Egypt now are not the genunine residents , it was invaded multiple times , till a certain invador we all know came and changed the official language to his own and then egypt began to live the retarded age

      Nefer Ankh Horus why say it in terms like that? Its historical-Islam invaded Egypt. Its fact,it happened-you don't need to be coy. Secondly if your going to talk about "retarded ages" have some fucking balls and just spit out what's on your mind-your no better than the alt-Reich anti-Semitics who throw up ((( ))) everywhere-if your going to talk in terms like retarded then own what your saying. Come on the commies/nazis/Wahhabis etc etc never hid or hide behind coy ways of talking-if your going to trash talk then own your words,say exactly what you mean. Unless you don't want discussion but instead want to foist a position without the burden of discourse? I suspect that's what it is and that makes you a coward-now this is not my fight to have-I've other positions I want to discuss and talk about more than "ooooo the Muslims" like Scottish Independence but if your going to take a view then dog whistle bullshit like yours is cowardly and only means your not prepared to debate your corner and even entertain the fact that someone may change your mind. That's a sad sad thing

      muhammad abdo hieroglyphic is the high priests and edicts form of writing true.... but its a semi phonetic language... so though demotic was simpler - for quick writing purposes- it was still the same language the letters are just in simpler form

    Dr. David Neiman is wrong: Jean-Francois Champollion did not correctly decipher Egyptian hieroglyphs.

      Walter Picca He paved the way and was arguably the very FIRST human being in millenials to understand and indeed decipher the ancients egyptian writings.

    so wrong. lmao the hieroglyphs are apart of African Religion. So any Carcausian ancestor of your did not found or translate something that already existed before them. they just "discovered" something in someone else culture and took credit for it.

      @mahmoudahmed5973 Před 6 lety +1

      look i think u didn't study Hieroglyphs so that's why u can't understand what did i say
      i mean in Ancient history of African people their's no other languages like Ancient Egyptian language and their's no compare between Pre-dynastic period and Pre-Islamic period !!!!
      2- before Prof.Champllion came and discovered the mystery as u said most of Arabian Scientests have solved nearly to the truth that we're dealing with today so don't deny any afford has been made before
      3- Ancient Egyptians didn't destroy any pre culture and didn't copy and by logic how they can make copy of Ancient Languages which dated back to African people as u said and the first hand made writing dated back to pre-history period in Egypt so they make a copy from themselves !!!!! C'mon :D
