For the young dudes…when he says “Steph” as a top 5 NY point guard, he’s talking about Marbury

That coach smith story really gave me the chills. Thts heavy.
Thay story was a good one. Damn good coach.
Yeah it did! What a story! And I'm a diehard Duke fan! But that was a great story! RIP Coach Dean Smith!
💯
Escro Niro I agree. You should read John Thompson’s Autobiography. Coach Smith is unquestionably an extremely amazing Human Being.
Hheeaavvyyyy
Damn, Kenny is a great story teller. It’s never boring when he talks, & he really knows how to engage listeners & viewers.
Y’all just realizing this cuz y’all hate on him when he alongside shaq and chuck
@@chejulian6092 exactly ..Kenny a very intelligent basketball mind..if anything I rather listen to him talk basketball than shaq
I was just thinking the same thing. I can listen to him tell his stories all day
If you wanna learn about real basketball listen to kenny, if you wanna have fun listen to chuck. If you dont want both listen to shaq
@@hakukabani3788 for real bro young Shaq was one of most amazing athletes I've ever seen an in his prime late 90s/early 2000s with the Lakers he was a force, but he's honestly a terrible analyst. Funny personality and seems like a great guy but all he talks about is how soft the league is and dude is super thin skinned for as much as he's accomplished in life.
Kenny Smith might be the most under-appreaciated media member of the last 20 years. An all-time great at his role when he played and as a Inside the NBA board member always spoke up for social issues and NBA problems from a diffrent perspective. Salute to The Houston Jet.
But like Chuck said the older he gets the better he was lmao

I have a feeling that this podcast will stand the test of time and feel like an original of something.an alot of these episodes like this one that have 200-300k views.will end up being in the millions or ten of millions an it's going to go full circle. There's an authenticity an realness about it that I think is going to catch on alt more then it is even now.
Kenny Smith was gold! The story about Dean Smith was awesome!!!!
I was legit blown away by that. For all the things that have been said about him and his temper, this was the last story I’d expect to be associated with him!
@@1PrinceWilliam that is silly or you went to dook. Coach Smith was the nicest toughest coach. He did those types of things routinely.
He is the ONLY coach that would've done that...and MAYBE John Thompson. Those guys LOVED their players and he was reciprocated.

@@treybear8174 MJ always gives credit for learning the game the right way aka The Fundamentals from his time at UNC and coach Smith. We all see the flash and bright lights, but the fundamentals are the foundation of MJs game.
That story about the late Coach Dean Smith sending the other coach to Africa to learn the culture. Wow. Just wow. Had me in tears.
Gave me chills. Love that story!
WOW. That's a wonderful story. I really liked Dean Smith, would've minded playing for him,if I could ball. Also John Thompson.
@@powerbad696 That's crazy you said John Thompson because i just posted maybe only Thompson would've done what coach Smith did.I would've loved to play for Thompson, Smith, Chaney, Massamino and Tark. You can tell the players were more to them than just players.
@@missayawk Yes,John cared about them. That's why former players speak highly of him.
@@missayawk It’s funny you mentioned John Thompson. Coach Thompson and Coach Smith we’re good friends and there was mutual respect between the two.
That dean Smith story is incredible
Here's a thought. We can all agree, chuck brings viewers, but we notice when Kenny isn't on the show. A true pg, ties it all together
Oh that’s just a fact. I personally believe if Kenny wasn’t there when Chuck started , Chuck would’ve lasted maybe 2 or 3 years. Their chemistry is something that will never be matched again. If a TV show could make the Hal of fame it should.
I disagree. Neither Kenny or Shaq stand out when they're on Gametime w/o Chuck. Kenny's been on w/ Haywood & Isiah in the finals and it's whatever. Charles is entertaining no matter who else is there.
@@mko0lpmko0lp that’s not inside the nba.

As someone raised in Houston we’ll always have love for Kenny. That high top fade and then his 6 3’s against Orlando in game 1.

That’s why Dean Smith is legendary & the greatest because he was bigger than just 🏀
@1:18:10 Sheed! The phrase "Ball don't lie" came from this guy! From a talent standpoint he is definitely one of the best to ever do it.
That bus vs ship analogy is the best one anyone has ever put together when it comes to roles on a team. Someone is only a bus rider when they're at the end of the bench and don't see any minutes at all, but someone having a role assigned that helps the team succeed is a crew member, even if it's s small role.
It made a lot of sense here. I dont remember him puttin it this way on the show lol

That Dean Smith story was amazing. I’d also love to see Sandler on here.
Kenny Smith, I'm from VA and a year older than you, and played highschool and college ball. I wasn't that good, good enough to make the teams and be the backup point guard. But you were my idol at the point, and still my favorite point guard of all time. Your game had no flaws!! Quickness, Shot, Handles, Swag, and Crazy moves. You had to share and play down your game in the NBA, but had you gone to a different team, your career could have been in the same breath of all the great legend point guards! Loved watching your whole career even into your TNT Analysis job. You're great for our race brother🙏🏽
OMG! LOOOOOVE THIS EPISODE: Filled with Gems: Loved the anecdote on Dean Smith, and was was dead laughing @ Jack soldier hoping for war.
God bless you guys!
Kenny, "Mad Max", Mario Ellie, Sam Cassell AND Scotty Brooks.
Now that's what you call a Championship back court.
czcams.com/video/5nXVlJpYXzI/video.html
The only reason you call them a championship back court is because of who they had at center. They were all given up on by the teams that drafted them aside from Cassell
@@jlobiafra Robert Parish didn't become who he was til he went to Boston, lots of other players bounce around the league before the find the teammates, the coaches, and the system that they flourish in. What you said is a blanket statement. Ridiculous.

If they were so great they wouldn't of been bouncing all over the nba. They all contributed to those rockets championships and as a Houstonian I thank them. I watched those rockets and believe me when they signed each one if them it didn't necessarily set the world on fire.
