Wicked video mate. Going to autobarn tomorrow to get one. Do you know if it works with android as well. You didnt connect via Bluetooth would of been good to see as well. Can u do a video with choosing the right watt speakers for amps and subs as i don't have a clue and trying to upgrade my stereo and speakers etc. Cheers
Another great head unit review, thank you. Question regarding getting Android Auto to work. Do I need to buy a special brake bypass switch? I've heard Alpine units need to have the brake wire grounded?
Only in USA :)
Anyways to custom the splash screen?
hey friend
do you know how to get the code form my radio with serial No : R81216640?
Can you watch videos on this
Is it true we need an additional module for steering switch control?? Nonincluded in the package?
R. Febry Rizqiardihatno That is 100% correct my friend.
I rather use the touchscreen than pay anything additional. Mine just arrived. I’ll look for someone to install it since I don’t have the patience for such a job. Mine came with backup camera from Amazon for no additional charge. Just hope it fits my 2011 z4 as they say it does.
Papo Pagan it will fit just make sure you have the correct fitting kit etc
The Fitting Bay Correct fitting kit? Isn’t everything included in box? I’d like to know before going to an installer and finding out it won’t fit. From my purchase with Amazon, their site said it fits my 2011 BMW Z4.

Send us the link 😂
Beware. Purchased in November so that I could use Apple Car Play in my 2007 Tundra. I’m a contractor and need hands free and navigation. It worked pretty well...it would randomly disconnect and not recognize my iPhone 7 so I would have to shut my truck down and restart (and yes, I have iOS 13 and keep it updated). In December, my wife gave me an iPhone 11Pro to update my iPhone 7...now, CarPlay does NOT work. Audio, glitches out and calls are actually in slow motion (I have NO IDEA how that happens). I have searched numerous blogs and this seems to be a problem with iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max that neither Apple nor Alpine want to address. For a stereo over $800.00, I would have hoped for a better customer experience.
paleroller I’ll talk to alpine about this. I’ve heard of the Bluetooth glitching out. The phone needs to be turned off and on again . Then connect.
Also it’s likely due to the phones software not the unit. If the iPhone 7 worked and then the 11 doesn’t, it’s apparent. Also, CarPlay works through software on the phone
Yeah, most aftermarket stereos tend to have issues when a NEWER version of a software is used ex. iOS10 to iOS11. EVENTUALLY Alpine should release an update to fix these problems since Apple most likely won't since its probably a very small minority dealing with these issues, but they are usually slow.
The issue has always been a problem with tech, new software/hardware releases, that isnt 100% compatible with the previous gen devices. They either release and update to fix it or tell you that you need to upgrade to a newer device.
Apple has always done this with their device, perfect example being their iPhone charging cords, Gen 1-4 (if I remember correctly) used the Apple 16/32pin connector cord,Apple product exclusive. Gen 5 till present use the Lightning connection, and rumor has it that the next iPhone will be cordless charging only, thus making all those Lightning cord worthless. It's a downside to innovation/evolution.
@@DapimpBDSD I REALLY hope so. This was an expensive stereo and the main reasons I purchased it were because it was ALPINE (a premium brand) and because it had Apple Car Play. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a couple months...then I'm smashing my iPhone and Alpine...and going back to 8-track. LOL.
@@paleroller I'll buy it from you before you throw it away. $400 if it is in really good condition. Think about it.
That’s all stereos I had a pioneer same thing happen sometimes it will disconnect I thought it was my cable but nop so get use to it that is on all stereos
