- A SUDDEN END TO OUR WINTER VAN LIFE ADVENTURE.
If you have been following along with our winter van life adventure in Switzerland and France then you'll know we have been having a blast wild camping in the snow and exploring campsites in the mountains, and that's exactly how this video starts, with a trip up the Aiguille du midi (one of us doesn't quite make it)
However, all good adventures have to come to an end, and when you are on the road travelling as much as we are then sometimes it can be for sad and unexpected reasons. Apologies for the abrupt ending to this series but hopefully you can all understand why we stopped filming to rush back to the UK. Hopefully this update explains our situation without having to put too much personal info out on the internet. We will be back with you all as soon as we are ready, the content may just look a little different in the short term as new plans are forming, of course, we will keep you all posted...

Hopefully you are enjoying this European travel series as much as we are and we are managing to show you just some of the stunning landscapes that France has to offer in this French travel vlog.
As usual, we have tried to include a bit of everything, some cinematic scenery mixed with our usual female van life foolery, we always love hearing what you lot think in the comments so do let us know, and as always, thank you for watching!
Follow us on our journey as we attempt to create a proper youtube travel series as we, two female travelers and vanlifers, attempt to travel across Europe in our rolling tiny home.

😊
You are absolutely wonderful girls, so funny and such nice views you show😃🍨🚙🚙🚙 It makes me so happy to watch your adventures 🖒😃
So sorry for your loss, I understand you want to deal with that privately but know that people are sending you their best wishes at this sad time x
So sorry to hear your sad news - stay strong you’ve got this . Your wife looks stunning in the Chamonix footage btw beautiful eyes and hairstyle ! ! ❤
Thanks Elaine
Just wanted to say how sorry I am at the passing of your father. Please give our condolences to your family at this time. Know that people all around the world have a special place in their hearts for you and Emily, and know that your father should have been very proud of the daughter you have become. Don't worry about your "youtube" family, we will all still be here when you feel comfortable to return. You take all the time that you need! With deepest sympathies from New Kent, Virginia, USA, Rebecca Davis & Family.
P.S. .... The French Alps looked amazing, and yes I live in New Kent, the county for which is named after Kent, England. Coincidence? Weird huh?
Thank you Rebecca that’s lovely of you to say
You both did so well to go up in the first cable car, not easy going against your fears. Well done Emily for conquering the second part.
😀😀😀
Sorry for your loss Lou , and well done for doing the first part of the cable car .
Wishing you both well
Its a tribute to what an engaging couple you are and how you have opened up your lives to those who love your films, that so many people here including me feel sad for you. Best wishes to you and your family Louise
Thank you Tim
Great quantent!
Take all the time you need L.
Best wishes from Shropshire.
Loved the views. Sorry to hear about Lou’s dad. I lost my dad in 2013, it sucked. But, after a while the suck recedes and you still remember the good stuff. Take care of yourselves. We’ll all be here when when you’re ready to post videos again, so take whatever time you need to help your family and to heal.
I was feeling every bit of that cable car ride with you there Lou 😱 well done to you though, I would have been waving my hubby off from the ground if that were me 🤣
Emily's hair looks lovely.
😂😂 and thanks
Take all the time you need, I'll be here when you get back.
Aww bless sending you both love and strength to get through these tough times 😘😘😘💜💜💜
You are both braver than me, there’s no way I would have got in that cable car! I am sorry for your loss Lou 😢
Respect to you for still uploading your video and sharing your adventures with us, when dealing with such a personal loss! Lots of love for all you do and all that you are! ❤
🙂🙂
Absolutely beautiful very jealous lou and Emily 🥰💗
I KNOW the feeling LOU no WORDS be strong and you've got you're soul mate with you bless you two.
Well done Emily!! Riding that cable car and being the brave one! Beautiful footage and wonderful views. Another quality video.
I had so much fun
I feel exactly as you do, Louise -- don't want to put my faith in human engineering to keep me safe! Why I don't go on roller coasters...
Losing a parent is rough, but is one of the hard moments we all have to go through if we live long enough. Take as much time as you need to reset. We'll still be here!
Onwards and upwards in your own time lovely people. You brighten our day and show the world what love is and what it means to be alive. X
Bless 🙌 you Louise so sorry for your loss 🙏 ❤️❤️
Fantastic video, unreal views of a very beautiful place.
Well done Emily for going all the way, what an experience
So sorry for you loss Lou - best wishes to you both - stay strong
I found you guys the last few days. I watch vanlife or RV life videos to keep me focused on our own goals of getting to travel in 2.5 years.
It’s what keeps me from jumping off a cliff some days (sarcasm). We are abused daily by custody and family court crap. We have full/soul custody of my husband first born. For reasons I’ll leave out. But the abuse we endure at the mother’s hands is short of insanity.
So on hard days I just watch CZcams videos on travel. I’m in US. But I’m DYING to visit the Uk. I love history and just want to see everything.
So brave Em to make it to the top, bet your legs were shaking, Lou, nothing wrong with stopping short, you conquered the haunted wood a while back, so nothing to prove. Take your time we will all still be here.
Hair looks nice curly Emily. Sorry for your loss Lou stay strong ❤
Thanks Adele
Wow, I could not have gone up in that cable car myself. I used to be fine with heights but somehow at some point about 20 years ago, I developed anxiety about heights and would get vertigo. So well done, both of you. And you have my condolences, Louise.
Sorry you had to cut trip short. Would agree a floating cable car looks scary.
Sorry Lou, it it's any consolation, he must have been very proud of your values, skills, independence and the way you both embrace life. You will always carry him in your heart. I dread the day I have to face the same. xxxx
Both our father's went on their merry way last year and you sound as pragmatic as we are about such events. Sending our love to you all. S & J XX
Life comes first. Take care. We will be here when you return. Loved the views from the mountains and cable cars. Living vicariously through you both and your adventures.
So sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself and take your time.
Heights suit Emily she looked beautiful being brave , her skin was glowing. Love to both.
Happy Sunday🎉 Hope everything is ok. Take as much time as you need. We will be here for you. Saw your message ❤
OMG those alps were ….. just can’t think of a word. Who’s a brave girl Em and Lou that was hilarious with the hot chocolate, thought you’d gone to the top at that point. 😂🤣. Condolences sent to you and your family. Take time and see you both in the next one.
Awwww. Be fun to see Em go base over apex in the white stuff. Lol
Not hights in scared of. It's hitting the ground worries me.
Time marches on.
😂😂
First of all Lou, I know this sounds a bit harsh, but eventually you'll get over your loss, and continue to live life to the best of your ability, I'm speaking from experience, I lost my Father 28 years ago, to a very sudden heart attack, he went to work, and passed away almost as soon as he got there at age 67, and I lost my mother 5 years ago to a short, thankfully, illness aged 96, You never forget your parents, always cherish the times you have with them, you never know when they will not be there for you, you will never forget them, the good times you have with them you will always remember, the bad times you tend to forget instantly. Take care, and remember you have a wonderful partner who can help you when things get a bit low.
You are not speaking harsh at all, unfortunately this is going to happen to us all and you are right as times goes by it all gets easier for sure plus Lou’s dad loved watching our adventures and was very proud of what Lou and myself have achieved 🙂
Great vid as usual, keeping it brief I’m sorry for your loss, I lost my father last hear on 10 march so hits home to me. Keep the vids coming. remember, life carries on (as harsh as that sounds) and we all have to live ours. Sending you love as always take care the four of you x
It definitely does
So sorry for your loss, Lou. I like to think that there’s a great big pub on the other side where everyone goes and toasts the newcomers for a life well-lived. Cheers to your dad! On an uptick, Em … your hair looked fabulous! Hugs to you both …
That’s a nice thought
Well done Emily for getting that checked right away, hope ur results are what u want good luck n good on u Louise for looking after her❤
Sorry for your loss. Family always comes first, and your loyal fans will wait weeks until you are ready to continue. xx
Well done Emily! The look of excitement and triumph on your face when you were at the top was priceless! No doubt that alone will convince Louise to join you on the next opportunity. Take care.
It was a lovely view up there
So sorry for your loss Lou, I thought you were brave to do the first part of then cable car ride, it would have terrified me! Wow Emily I think you have reached a new level of braveness. Sending you both love ❤ it really doesn't matter where your film your content because you are both always incredibly entertaining ❤
I know I was on top form, had to put my big girl pants on and thank you
A page has turned in your life Lou, a new chapter has started, remember the past, but look forward to the future. Thinking of you both .. xx... mb
I’m very sorry for your loss. I lost both Dad & Mom within the space of 4 months so I know how your feeling. Just take each day as it comes 😢. Looking forward to the mini CamperVan series. God bless 💋 💋
Condolences for the loss of your father. Sending All Y'all love, hugs, and healing comfort. 🙏🏼💗🕉🧘🏽♀️ xoxo
I don't like heights but I don't mind cable cars. I've been up there with a one way ticket and my snowboard. I think it's 16km down from memory, The Valley Blanche. When I got back a friend sent me a newspaper article titled "in to the valley of death" Apparently quite a few people die doing it, there are lots of crevasses, there was a loss of life a week after we did it. More AJ next time .... 😃
Condolences 💕
I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. I Bless you and all of your family! ❤️
Loved Emily winging it on her own .. so sorry sad news…my thoughts… keep smiling..you guys keep me smiling
Sending heartfelt sympathies, Lou and Em. I lost my father last year and it left an indelible mark. I do hope you have many warm memories to carry you through.
OK Louise, I won't say "it", but you know how all of us are thinking of you. The views from the Alps were absolutely gorgeous. I don't blame you, I wouldn't have gotten on the cable cars "at all". However, I have heard that the Swiss have invented the cable car and no doubt know/knew what they were doing. Take care you two. Emily, I like the new "full hairdo". Beautiful. Take care, both of you and travel safe out there.
Sorry for your loss Lou, our thoughts are with you both.
Love watching your videos but please take your time. We will still be here x
Least that's (hopefully) the end of winter, now, so you've got plenty of time to think about ways to keep Fanny warm during future adventures. 😉
Keep smiling. 🙂
I am sorry for your loss and I am glad that you were able to get back home safely.
When speaking of Tramways, the longest tramway in North America is the Sandra Tramway in Albuquerque, NM. It is also the longest tram in the world and takes you up 2.7 miles, 4.345 kilometers or 4,345 meters to the top of Sandia Peak. As Albuquerque is already a mile high, you will find yourself about 7km up. The view is Spectacular! There is a song that was done a few decades ago called The Lights Of Albuquerque, which are breathtaking. For those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground, it is possible to drive up the backside of the mountain to reach the peak, as well as the ski area that is about 3/4 of the way up the mountain. Are you still awake?
I am very happy to hear that your departure from Switzerland was voluntary (not really but it was the right thing to do) and was NOT court ordered, as I had feared.
Though this is in no way a competition, I just finished a 6,701km drive from Northeast Tennessee to Olympia Washington and down to Albuquerque, New Mexico in the states. I drove through the Smoky Mountains, the Rocky Mountains and the Cascade Mountains and then back over the Cascade Mountains and the Rocky Mountains and I was caught in at least 3 blizzards due to what seemed like a 4 finger storm coming in from the Pacific Northwest. I am lucky that I have a very sturdy and reliable Honda Ridgeline Truck, and if I could find a comfortable cab over camper that would sit well on the Ridgeline, I would sell my short bus and use the camper. IF one exists, I have not found it yet. Ah well.
It is great to see you both! Thanks!!!
That sounds like an awesome trip you just done 😀
OMG, LOUISE, I'M SO SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. but fuck it i totally love you two nutters your wonderful and crazy!!! So many thanks for sharing your wonderful video's with us! Total love and respect to you both ❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️
Always look forward to your quantent 😄❤
Id have been the one hiding on the floor too Lou. Em was very brave getting to the top but you did amazingly well talking to camera after your loss. Sending our condolences to you and your family. Well all be waiting for you when you’re ready. take your time.
I'm with you about those cable cars Louise. I'm not a fan of anything that wiggles, jiggles or groans in any way if I'm more than two feet off the ground. If you ever find yourself going on another, wear a wingsuit.😋Very sorry to hear of your father's passing Louise.
I understand how you just want to crack on Lou, I've lost my Mom, Dad and sister all in the last 3 years, I just want to push forwards, I want to live it. Bless you x.
I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. It's very difficult at first but it slowly gets better as you think back over your happy memories.
Enjoyed watching folks, it looks so beautiful. You were VERY brave Louise and you were VERY VERY brave Emily going on the cable car, not sure if I woud have. Sending my condolences, look after each other ... 🙏 x

Not going to take the piss. You went as far as you felt comfortable. Well done Emily on the footage. Condolences to you both on your loss.
Definitely great quantent! Loss of a parent is hard but you will be ok. Emily is with you and if she doesn't make you laugh then nothing else will. Onwards and upwards both. Look forward to whar ever is next. Oh yeah the filming of the alps was amazing Emily and your not the only one who isn't keen on cable cars Lou....view or no view like my feet on terra firma! You gave it a go though so fair play.👍💯👍
I have been on top form with my joke of the days so that has definitely kept them all going 😁🙌
Your father shines through your every van build, mod, and repair, Lou; so we all feel a bit of your loss, but we still celebrate the creative influences that flourish through you. Emily, you were very brave to go up and get those great shots for us (loved the birds frolicking about up that high!). The new hair-do fits you so well and really frames those blue eyes! Glad you are both back on terra firma taking some time. Eagerly awaiting your future quantent!
Sorry for your loss. And I hope to see you back again soon. Take all the time you need were not going anywhere. Love and Prayers 💜
Love and light to you both 💛 sorry for your loss rest up, nature heals whenever you are. The Forest and water is all you need and a whole lotta love between you. Soul mates you are X
Sorry for your loss Louise, but yep you're on the right track your father would love for you to keep going and live your life, he's in your heart and so he's always with you, keep smiling and it'll be easier for him to connect with you and your lovely Em 😊
Braver than me on that cable car 🚠 my toes were curling up just watching 🤣🤣 Darren now wants to go on it!!
It has changed so much !!! I've done it last time a bit over 30 years ago. The cable car wasn't that big as it is now. Same about the top station at the Aiguille du Midi. But then I was skiing down through the vallée blanche and mer de glace which was a wonderful experience. The only part I was really frightened, was walking on the ridge to get to the point where you can put on your skis: one side it goes down 2000 m to the village of Chamonix and on the other side about 800 m 😱. I did it twice, and it was easier the second time, a year later.
But of course I can understand that everybody reacts different and at least Lou tried it and Emily succeeded! Bravo to both of you.
Oh that sounds absolutely amazing
We will here as an when your ready but thinking of you at this sad time. Great to know Emily is by your side supporting you.
Sorry to hear Louise, hugs to you both at this difficult time.Thankfully you have each other.🙏❤️
Being scared is natural. We all have our fears however irrational they seem at the time. Maybe next time!! Looked like a great view no matter where you were sitting!
Sending hugs, sharing so much is no doubt a challenge but we follow your highs and lows as you are both so fab and inspirational.
Your braver then me , fantastic vlog thank you ❤️❤️👍

In the vid, the cable cars looked fun - I might change my mind and be clammy hands, too, if I was actually doing it. The views at the tip top were breathtaking, Emily. Well done! The coffee at the mid point looked yummy and you had good views there, too, Lou. Glad you were able to get back to the U.K. safely. Until next time, stay safe, and enjoy each other.
