Alex’s contributions to the USWNT have been invaluable. I don’t know if this is the end of her National career, but let’s face it. Strikers have to score, and Alex hasn’t done that in a long time (PK’s excluded).
Alex Morgan being Snubbed sounds like she is one of our top 4/5 strikers. She is a legend But right i cant put her past the strikers that were chosen. I think this coach is going to be probably the best for the USA if she is willing to make the decisions according to the players she needs and not story. Love Alex but its the right call.
It was the right decision, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not sad.
The argument of missing Alex's leadership is moot, look at all the leadership players we had in the last WC, how'd that turn out?

I've enjoyed her play over the years but...she hasn't scored goals- national team or club...but now is not the time for a farewell tour. She's a 9, a one trick pony, and a 9 who can't score is useless.

The Crystal Dunn experiment over a true number 9 is stupid. I dont want to hear about her age. Alex is still one of the best strikers in the game. She is one the best strikers the US has ever had.
Dunn is going bc she's versatile and AM is not, and that you don't understand that's what's required for an Olympic roster means you haven't been paying attention. I guess you also aren't aware that AM just hasn't been getting it done for club or country. Scoring against China in a friendly doesn't change that, while having not scored once this season at club level also hurt her, so people can look at it and be mad as fans of hers but it's what have you done for me lately that won out
Morgan - 0 goals in 600 club minutes played this year. These are club teams! Maybe one of the best strikers at one time, but clearly not anymore.
She's scored 1 goal in the run of play in the last year and a half for the national team. You're delusional if you think she's still one of the best strikers.

Morgan accomplishment in the past is not denied, she’s one of the best if not the best! But this short list to Olympic probably cut her off and that, my opinion, is the last one that she isn’t on it for she’s 35 now by this July.
Alex has not scored any goal yet this season, believe it or not, given she’s missed some games due to some
injury.
Folks, we’ve already seen the writing on the wall about Morgan going down hill for some time now as far as scoring and being effective in the game.
I’ve wished for Lily Yohannes to make this roster but I guess Hayes may think that she’s not ready for this short list.

I disagree I think that Alex Morgan is gonna retire whether now or next year. You may think she is coming back…..at some point it is not up to Alex Morgan whether she comes and plays with the team it is Emma Hayes who gets the final word. Alex Morgan is already washed up and past she is no longer part of this USWNT anymore with Emma Hayes at the helm. Look at Rapinoe and Kelly O Hara they are retired it is time to bring in the new young gals then keep someone at age 35-36. Alex Morgan struggled in the WWC last year. Now we see why the USWNT is going to a new process.
