the video in the stream showed the avatar framed up pretty tightly. did it seem like that could be adjusted to fit more signs / be more deaf friendly?

@@SirAU your eye ball retina is your mouse. It’s far quicker and more accurate than a mouse from what I hear. No matter how small the interface element is, it knows exactly what you’re looking at. Your fingers are the mouse buttons.

Being able to get custom lenses for people that use glasses is pretty freaking awesome. Makes me more excited for this.
So let me guess, Apple want you to send in your eye prescriptions so they can "custom make" you a lens that they can charge you extra $$$$ for? it's completely unnecessary if they design the headset correctly. Um.....have you ever tried an existing VR headset? Just about all of them have adjustable lenses that act as diopters to bring things into focus for people with varying head geometry and eyesight. Apple. They really do know how to market to suckers with too much cash.
@@robertdouble559 who hurt you dude? I have tried other VR headsets and having to use my glasses is cumbersome. Not only that, you run the risk of scratching your glasses and lenses inside your headset. Why does it bother you so much that I plan on buying with with custom lenses? Stay in your lane and mind your own business.
Every hands on I watch has been roughly the same. People come out the other side wide-eyed and WTF'd. It tells me that the experience is very special. Good.
This is Apple Park by the way, the new campus! Infinite Loop is the old HQ, a few miles west. Yes both are circular, but Infinite Loop is made of 6 building rather than one giant spaceship-like ring.

In regard to taking 3D videos ... I think it will come to IPhones very soon it's just that they could not show it yet as the product is not there. There definitely won't be a need to wear your headset while taking 3D photos/videos.
I like the separate battery pack - it (hopefully) means you could buy spares and have some charging while you use one! Also it's great for when the battery ages - just grab a new one and plug it in!
Better battery life with 3nm M3…
you can just keep it plugged in. no point for multiple battery packs.

Fully mobile editing set up. Very niche, but seems promising.
Been watching lots of avp vids today and this is the best one. Nobody taking about the weight/battery, seems like a huge detail to leave out where comfort is very important for an expensive face hat
Idk about that. All vids I have watch have mentioned it. The weight and comfort seems person to person rn. We’ll see how it is when they have the different seal sizes

Thinking back on your recent video - as someone with ADHD I'm pretty excited by the immersive potential of this one, beyond any other headset; the idea of creating custom spaces for work/creativity/journaling and so on while still being able to interact with the space around you could be great for scattered minds.

ooh i didn’t think of this but that sounds like something similar hat would be very helpful. without having to buy custom lights i can create a cool rgb effect for gaming and like a pastel lighting setup for journaling
this was soooo much better than i thought it would be. it can only improve. having been a firefighter for 30 years the helmets were heavy but u get used to it. im sure in time u will get used to the weight of the headset. good to hear that u liked it.

How was the FOV? I've been working with headsets since DK2 and it's a shame to hear about the weight.
This kind of reminds me of the Microsoft Hololense that I tested at work. That one is heavy too and it took me some time to get used to it.

I would love a chance to try out the headset, but i dont think this is something i will be an early adopter on. I dont understand why apple switched from form over function to materials over function. Sounds like an otherwise incredible product. Hoping to get a better Airpods Max Gen2 and Vision Pro Gen2 or something more consumer facing in quick order! Movies on this sound like it would be incredible!
On an unrelated note, cant wait for the life update video. Curious where the chapter is taking place. Hopefully you found some place you can put down roots and enjoy life for a while! Stay safe out there!

Dude I loved trying it!! The 3D videos and experiences were insane. But agree it was heavy.

Can you see an extended battery integrated with back band to balance weight in the future? New battery players will be the next step in VR.. Think soft light fabric based battery tech.
What about designing Vision Lite (a light weight virtual display unit like eye glass spectacles) connected to Macmini & Mac Studio through Thunderbolt 4 or Luna Display like built-in wireless technology
Apple probably has about 3 generations of the vision pro already made. They will start selling the bulkiest one first and work their way up to the thinnest and lightest version with a battery that lasts 5 hours.
Over all it is interesting to see apple try out VR seems like something they are very new to especially with the 3.5k price tag, basically a rich kids toy for the time being

everything sounds really amazing, but the battery point is disappointing 😳 But as you said its V1
as non-Apple person, i'm stoked. It does remind of the iPhone moment - similar things exist, but here (potentially) top notch hardware, software and control come together like i don't think anybody else can reproduce. used as a computer replacement, it's worth the money. i have seen my wife jumping up and down the first time over tech, she want's to pace arround while working, be on the coach etc. what's frustrating: release early next year and even later outside of USA. long wait... but it does feel we are catching up to scifi!!

The idea of having to stop working to plug in - or change the battery of - your computer every 2 hours is enough to suggest that this product will not be well received or widely used.
I'm glad people are out there pushing XR products and moving tech forward, but there is no practical way this product changes anything. It's not a big enough advance.
Hehe, yeah... If it only wasn't that expensive it would have become the next big thing right away. But probably this is intentionally by apple... as no matter how good it is today, it has to mature before your grandma gets it! 🤣

Unfortunately, i can't use this because i wear glasses. Ordering custom glass doesn't seem to work because i have to use this with family. If custom glasses are ordered, is it going to be replaceable with a regular default glass? If it is not, i can't use this.
I think the battery pack is here to stay, the amount of work it's doing at once is 🤯, I mean it's basically a powerful notebook strapped to your face, unless they come up with something amazing, although I wouldn't be surprised.

When you say it's heavy, is it front heavy or is it a balance but just heavy? If it's front heavy, i feel apple could've put the battery pack in the back to balance it out

This looks like it could be great for people with dissability, if you can do most of the things with eye tracking and a simple pinch of your fingers, combine that with speech recognition and you have a great accesory for people with low motor control or paralisys. This is a first gen product of course, that's why the price is so prohibitive. Thank you for the great first look.

Vision Pro is very interesting, and I like it, but only the next five years will confirm if it is a success or failure, it all depends on how people will adopt it, and if they will adopt it. The downside is that five years from now, there will be strong competition for VisioPro. At the moment it is a niche product in a niche market, more a vision for personal computing.
Yes its small thing but the selling point isnt the Headset is Apples integration and support throw all there products . Apples devices are all overpriced junk but there software support is just the best
It will be a success Apple didnt work on this thing 8 years for nothing. They will make sure of it. VR is not a niche anymore.

I think in the future apple vision pro will have your glasses doing this and for the battery probably an arm band that carries it or neckless plus i can see that the battery being changed out without losing any power to the vision. There is always possibilities that will have real wireless charging without wires or even connecting it to some sort of charging base. I think the vision is a lot better than any meta verse goggles the cameras that are in it, If the 2.0 second version comes out i could see people sitting by a desk or chair and putting the battery on a base charging station or a portable charger that we have that has a magnetic abilities already out. What about people who wear reading glasses? Will it work on them without reading glasses ?
when you put on your Quest it is a nightmare to login and use the apps? C'mon its not that difficult. Ok you have to put a pattern to unlock the headset because it has no eye tracking which does it automatically... but the rest is straight forward. but of course it is great to see that Apple has found better ways to navigate and i am sure it will set new standards which will be used in other headsets too in the near future.
Why the heck gives nobody a hint about the FOV ??
