You have a job that you are good at and enjoy.This job will allow you to have the time necessary to be a wonderful mother. You also have a caring husband. As for Vision Quest, you are correct it's an ergonomic nightmare. As for AI, the technology is great and helpful and will keep getting better. The dangerous part of it is the humans that are using the technology. As we speak, countries are trying to use it to become more powerful and others to use it to take advantage of others. Like all technology, they can be used for great creativity and help the human race or be used to harm it.
One of them was that the launch was horrible and not memorable. I don’t remember the launch as I do the iPhone

I have the meta quest 3 and I use to connect with family members 2,500 plus miles away . We play pool , basketball, golf , bowl go to comedy clubs , concerts , nba games court side , mma fights , go to movie theaters, drive virtual cars , etc and i don’t miss my family because it’s like they are with me in the same location . It’s like stepping into another dimension everything is life size and when you look around you get the feeling you are in those places .

How many times do you watch your video over again before you decide a final cut? I watch mine three times. One for story telling, two for cleaning audio and choppy scenes, and tightening up to see if a scene is unnecessary, and three catch any mistakes.

My issues with VR, won't it mess with one(s) psyche? Some people will have troubles to distinguish the difference between reality and Virtual.
Also regarding A.I and prompting, when you create content using prompts who owns the rights? can you copyright certain prompts???
I have a Quest 2. I find it impressive and still say wow the rare times I use it. The thing is I feel like it’s too much work to put it on. Same with my kids. At first they wanted to play it every day for the first 2 weeks now they might play it once or twice a month for an hour..
Welcome back! I feel like this is the 3rd time I’ve heard someone in my listening viewing group talk about the vision. And it seems that it’s best use is on the airplanes.
Bought the quest 3 in december and have been using them every day since then. Using them right now.

The viture XR glasses was the answer for me. I bought 2 pairs.
Not even close to the experience you get with the vp.
Tip for the Magic Mask in Resolve, try doing a number of shorter strokes (one on the face, on the chest, each arms, etc) vs one long stroke for better results 😊

I feel like VR and AR in general are amazing and powerful technologies but it's a medium that people have to want to make time/space/use cases for and if they aren't someone wanting to make that space they're never going to unless the barrier to entry becomes virtually non-existent. If you're motivated to put on the goggles, clear a space in your house, and set aside time to have an experience you can have a great experience with VR as it is now, but it's got to compete with all the totally passive and pervasive experiences that exist in the world today. Phones are just always on and there for most people, the internet is just kinda always up and there and begging to be engaged with and that's why these things are so dominant in our lives, switching gears to engage with them is seamless. VR is like taking time to go to the movies, or shutting off your phone and sitting down to read a book, but it doesn't have that perceived wholesomeness for group connection factor. I guess what I'm saying is I hope there continues to be a space for good cheap VR in people's lives because when people engage with it, it can be awesome but we need to accept that we'll probably never reach a point where people are using headsets the way they use their smart phones because the technologies strengths are that it's fundamentally not that.

This is quite ironic to me because when all the videos were popping up, I commented on one of the videos and said something along the lines of "the only hype I've seen around this is from CZcamsrs reviewing it." Some people got defensive about the comment saying "they're the only ones that have it right now" and blah blah blah. Still crickets on the Vision Pro front lol. Don't get me wrong, looks like a product that is fun AF but realistically...we aren't there yet. Also congratulations on your beautiful daughter! I watched the entire birth video today and you're probably one of the strongest women I've ever seen. HUGE kudos (for what it's worth haha).
The tech press hasn’t cared at all about XR since 2016. It’s notorious for being clueless about this tech. It’s natural that the youtube XR sphere were talking about this while the rest of the world continued not giving a damn. As it turns out, people kimds hate new tech and would rather just spend 1k on a phone every year that does literally nothing new than to skip buying a phone one year and hop onto a new platform for half that cost..
It’s a shame it went this way. People have become EXTREMELY conservative when it comes to new technology. Rather cluelessly bash it than use and learn about it.
This isn’t just about the vision pro, this is the entire XR space as a whole. The mainstream tech press is completely clueless about it and do everything they can to ignore it. In the XR space, we’re kinda using mainstream tech press articles as memes… due to the absolute disregard for facts and experience. Every article is like it’s written in 2016 by a first-time-VR user. None of them have their VR legs after 8 years and it’s just the same articles over and over and over.
Meanwhile on the VR side, new people are cropping up constantly, and their story is all the same.. they thought it was a thing with tech demos that makes them puke, but they wanted to try it anyways and found out that there are actually an immense amount of games, and the motion sickness issue has been solved by techniques to acclimate. Follow those and you’ll never get sick… tech journos don’t even know this, cause they know literally nothing about XR. It is so frustrating.
So, so frustrating. It’s not just the AVP that gets no attention. The quest 2 sold 20 million units and the tech press didn’t give a crap.
Last place anyone should get their XR info from is non-XR channels/outlets. Literally clueless about the tech and software. When it comes to journos with XR experience there’s one guy at eurogamer, couple at CNET, and that’s about it. That’s why the VR soecialized bubble exists. It’s literally the only place you cam find reliable XR info. Sadlyitsbradley, gamertag VR, habie, beardo benjo, q2c, jasmine VR.. these are some of the ones that actually know stuff about XR.
It’s the weirdest tech bubble ever. Literally feels like we’ve entered the matrix over here.. we’re loving it, we’re playing simulators and FPS games like contractors with a million mods and cod maps etc.. and then we take off our headsets and face a reality where people think we’re just playing tech demos and vomiting…

You are so amazingly human! Loved your takes on all the stuff, but specifically so the "rant" about CZcamss quitting and your baby being your main focus. As a dad of a 8 year old boy, I could not agree more. For years now I've been optimizing and prioritizing my time not for more money but for maximum time together with my kid. Those moments are one day gonna be gone and it would suck if I weren't there, both in person but also ACTUALLY present - not staring at devices or thinking about other things. Life is amazing, we just need to do our best and enjoy the ride and smile.

For real, is just because is expensive. There’s lot of tech that is super weird but ppl buy it cause it makes at least some finance sense, specially in 2 and 3 world countries, cause they are super creative with tech to insert in daily life. But when you make something so expensive, and for other countries almost impossible to buy, ppl not only lose interest but the company loses the ability to understand how a product could be use by most ppl. The first company to launch a VR that will sell a lot would not be the best VR out there but the best of the cheapest with enough use for daily life. Here in Brazil one of the biggest smartphones was not the IPhone of the year, but the iPhone 6s that ppl still use to this day cause it does what it should and it’s cheap.
I love it - use it daily the more I use it the more I love it
This is why I think VR is a better use case than using MR in everyday life. Gaming and specific use applications that you CANT do outside of a headset is the real win. It’s ok for it to be niche everything doesn’t have to be mainstream and end up in the hands of everyone. It’s perfectly ok.

For years I've been aiming for the sky, then I have a daughter, and then I realize, she is "the" sky, that why I named her Aurora. After that, I'm not aiming for the highest career I can get, but I'm aiming for a stable life for my family, and aiming to have more time with my children, I have 2 now. Comfort and convenience is KING. I still think something like the xreal air or glasses like those are way more ideal for people. Sure it’s not as fancy, but it’s significantly smaller, lighter, and only around $300ish while still allowing you to get the main draw, a large virtual display for work AND gaming from your other devices (which the AVP doesn’t do). until headsets can somehow squeeze into something like glasses, it’ll never be mainstream
I think it wasnt meant to be bought alot and its almost like a prototype. Like they just wanted a baseline of okay the device needs to meet these specifications at least for them to consider it viable and the other issues like weight and apps they will try to improve later. But what this means every apple vision released onward should be at least this quality and then lighter and better with time.
So I got a notification that you posted a new video and I fully expected it to be a review of the New Insta360 so this is a surprise
As someone who owns the Vision the biggest issue is the lack of investment in the App Store and content. Hopefully we see something at WWDC that helps the Vision Pro.
No dev has the money to develop software for a piece of hardware that sold 200k units so far. They hardly even develop for PCVR and that’s a 4-5 million unit platform… the Quest platform has hit 20 mill units sold and AAA devs don’t care yet.. The AVP was a device mostly aimed at devs. The next gen headset is the one us mortals should consider. That’s when the platform will grow. 3500 bucks is just too expensive when you can get a quest 3 that does a LOT more and has a massive software library. That’s the headset you should have gotten.

I probably watched 200 Vision Pro videos the two weeks after it was released, but haven't really sought it out much the last month or so. Maybe because its still not released in Canada, but it has sort of passed me by.

you gotta admit, this is not a product for most people.
Still using Apple Vision Pro 5-6 hours a day. Albeit I have modded it for a better fov. In reality it’s not a replacement for the iPhone, but instead another tool to my arsenal of Apple hardware.
I use mine much more than I use my iphone especially when I’m at home.
