Histamine intolerance is relatively common with chronic gut imbalances like SIBO, IBS and dysbiosis in general. In this video I wanted to outline some common herbs that can help to improve histamine intolerance, stabilise mast cells and reduce inflammation that can drive more histamine release in the body.
If you have a mild to moderate histamine intolerance which may present with common symptoms like a runny nose, sinus congestion, headaches above the eyes and even sore lymph nodes in the neck then check this video out.
If you are experiencing a more severe histamine intolerance or even mast cell activation syndrome then hang tight for another video coming soon on common extracts and nutrients that can help first as you may react to the herbs if you are extra sensitive.

Due to recent events my inclination has been to investigate the use of natural medicines and your approach to histamine intolerance seems a new and exciting prospect. An incident that happened with a puppy of mine illustrates the difference between "current" and natural medicine. I took the pup to an old-timer vet who said he had a seed in his nail bed. Nowadays the paw may have been cut to extract the seed and pus. Then antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicine would follow and the inevitable "cone of shame". This old boy had the perfect and inexpensive solution . Take a piece of gauze and place a quantity of oat bran on it and moisten with vinegar. Heat the poultice in the microwave to a temperature the pup can tolerate and apply poultice to paw, cover with cotton sock.
His method worked. Out came the seed and pus naturally. No knife, no antibiotics, no Elizabethan collar. You don't need a sledgehammer to crack a walnut - there is invariably an alternative route

A massive thank you for sharing your expertise. There were plenty of new options i haven't come across in trying to treat my histamine condition. Do you have any recommendations on trying to diagnose if its an intolerance/overload or mast cell activation? I imagine they're all quite deeply interlinked. The one thing that has led me to believe myne is an intolerance is due to the masssive anxiety i would have after coffee or an energy drink and learning the effects this has on DAO disruption.

MAST cell activation IS a SYMPTOM of CIRS or Chronic inflammatory response syndrome. It is a genetic issue and even all the OVERGROWTHS are both symptoms and triggers. Meaning exposure to the activates the HLA-DR gene which puts the body in a chronic state of inflammation and MAST cell activation, while it suits down the bodies ability to detox mold mycotoxins, plant food toxins, etc etc, allowing massive overgrowth of the exposed trigger. I got mine in complete remission, with 2 weeks on carnivore, with the exception of histamine intoler6, which was a direct result of my body finally being able to dump stored oxalates
It lasted about 4 mos but everything else was perfect. Then covid hit. The chronic exposure to the spike protein, which is a trigger for the gene, has created a new level which carnivore is not enough for. I used some of the herbs mentioned here for years before trying carnivore, with literally 0 results. I do wonder if combining them with carnivore and some spike protein specific remedies, will help with the current flare up.

I was tested for SIBO and tested positive for two different things in that SIBO test. The Dr said it was incredibly expensive to treat and would take years and insurance would not cover any of it.... She just left me hanging, constantly sick to my stomach, exhausted, can't sleep more than a few hours off and on, sick when I eat, constipated, itchy skin, hair getting thinner and thinner, sinus infections, migrains every other day,, my nerves are always shot.... etc. etc... Thank you for this video. I pray I can find relief. I'm tired of having to not eat for three days if there is something I have to do in the morning on a particular day, or if I get to go fishing or something where I can't be by a bathroom, I can't eat for 3 days before so I'm not sick from laxatives or the food itself... Surprised to hear tge doc said it would be expensive to treat. My gastroenterologist prescribed a course of Rifaximin, a non-absorbable, broad spectrum antibiotic. It took care of it for several years, at which point my GP gave me another short course. Covered by insurance.
If you prefer supplements, a Cleveland Clinic study showed a probiotic could help: search for “Effects of Lactobacillus salivarius UCC118 in Reducing Symptoms of Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth.” Another study: “Herbal Therapy Is Equivalent to Rifaximin for the Treatment of Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth.” These aren’t covered by insurance.

I’ve tried detoxes, homeopathy, Ayurveda and nothing seems to have worked. My friend who is a doctor of internal medicine got extensive blood tests done and zeroed in on high histamine levels. Taking an anti histamine makes the dizziness snd the light headedness settle but not much else. She also recommended high dose B12 which gave me mental clarity but aggravated my acne manifold, I do have low haemoglobin due to excessive menstrual bleeding so iron supplements too have helped somewhat. Cutting out sugar, gluten and dairy haven’t done much. Parasite detox has lessened mental confusion and cravings but they keep coming back. I have no idea what to do or where to start. I have 3 kids and am a single parent so have no idea where to start.

I just asked them to not eat shellfish around me.

I was eating a well balanced diet for about a year after leaving my wife and stress after 22 years. I'm on my healing path....I had a holiday booked about a week ago and decided not to go as my children are more important to me. Anyway! I tried a carnivore diet! But I totally forgot! that after having COVID I was diagnosed with MCAS.....and about 1 and a half weeks into the diet or that way of eating. Omg did I nearly die. The anafilax shock that I experienced nearly killed me. I was and felt awful. I had to stop and think about why I felt like this. As we do we you tube the shit out of things to heal ourselves. So anyway! I've stripped everything. No gluten, veggies that are low histamine, no grains at all. No sugar! I love my chocolate.....s you can imagine how hard it is. Everything has to be fresh or frozen. I'm taking so many things to ease the inflammation and get my body back to its equilibrium kinda. I'm taking antihistamines at the moment. Then I stumbled across this video as I'm all about holistic medicine. And wow. It blew me away...... already intake quercetin, tumeric, 9mushroom complex, magnesium, vit d with K2 omega 3 fish oils, ginkgo biloba, pro biotics, vitamin b complex, zinc and vitamin X and ashwaga. Oh and of course NAC. However I'm still dizzy and I'm going to incorporate scullcap for my antihistamine. Instead of taking medication. I'm just hating the dizziness. Iv had it now for 2 weeks. I’ve never heard of this with anyone else. I’m hoping to learn more here and get to the root cause. I was diagnosed with mold/biotoxin illness and CIRS in 2019 & was treated by a functional medicine MD for about 6 months but I moved and it was so very expensive. I do think I have histamine intolerance.

Same here . Mold toxicity and now just learning about I have histamine intolerance started with avocados ( I was eating everyday bc I have a very short list of vegetables I can eat and now one less) . I’m trying to survive till I see another functional Dr in 6 months bc the long wait list. I have a chronic sinus infection in my right nostril so took me a year or more to keep it moderately under control with my diet and supplements. ( no carbs, no grains, no dairy , no gluten, no nuts maybe just almonds if u tolerate, no starchy vegetables, no eggs, no chicken (they consume grains mostly moldy and when you consume go to your system too) , not pork ,not cured meats) .
I eat most the time fish, salmon , trout, grass fed beef, brocoli, cauliflower, asparagus , Brussel sprouts , red onions , bell peppers, garlic, kale, mix greens for salads with dressing just with olive oil, lime or lemon , sea salt, maybe you can use ACV . I made soups with those vegetables and add others not starchy.
It’s hard specially the breakfast bc most of the gluten free bread recipes used grains, eggs or seeds , seeds are problematic too bc when they storage for long time of period can get moldy. For supplements (NAC , Saccharomyces boulardii and DGL before each meal, QuickSilver ultrabinder with bentonite clay and charcoal two hours after dinner , herbs Im taking Pau D’ Arco, Gotu kola, Goldenseal, Agrisept-L, liposomal glutathione liquid, berberine. But I’m trying or my goal with a professional is rebuild my inmune system and the stomach lining. Hope that can help you or someone is going trough this nightmare.

Have you checked if you have leaky gut? I found a dietician who diagnosed me with that condition. So my root cause stemmed from taking antiviral supplements for 1 whole year because of long covid. Well antiviral supplements are another name for antibiotics, 1 year of use gave me several stomach infections (dark skin rash that kept growing, the larger it was the more symptoms I had, my allergies only started after this 6 months ago).
My allergies came from leaky gut and I concluded came from misuse of antibiotics 1 year of antiviral supplements). I am recovering slowly but finally am starting to see improvements to my health.
I hope you find your root cause instead of managing the side effects. I told my doctor about leaky gut and he had no knowledge about it, I did my research and turns out the medical community don't see leaky gut as a disease and deny it's existence which is why all of my doctors failed to diagnose me previously (3 years of trying what was wrong with me). You will have better luck with dieticians and nutrilogists in learning about leaky gut.
Note: it come to my awareness that after 1 year of leaky gut, autoimmune is the disease that will turn into. Do find your root cause and don't ignore it like I did for 3 years. My dietician only charges $100 per 1 hr session. She trys to heal me with food rather than by external medicines. Calm my immune system down, in my case treating leaky gut and possible SIBO.

    Hi there
I have been following a raw vegan lifestyle for 11 months and was feeling fantastic till around July when I developed mild headaches then September sinus for first time ever. I haven’t had any issues prior to this with allergy type things but definitely gut stuff like lifelong constipation ( I’m 44). Do you think with herbal support and lifestyle changes- I suffer from panic attacks and anxiety - that a raw diet can still be achieved?

With salicylates the first thing to look at is sulphur metabolism. It can get complicated but if epsom salt baths feel good keep them up! Also fasted (but not first morning) urine needs to be alkaline, this is why many salicylate sensitive patients respond well to alkalising supplements (citrates - not always/magnesium/calcium/electrolytes in general)

Hello dear Byron. Can Borrelia bakteria be a triggrt of mast cell activation and if yes. Does treating the mast-cell will also kill the lyme. Or is killing lyme the first focus. Yet it is hard to find an treatment for lyme that doesnt worsen the mast cell histamin intolerance pain. So my concern is, if I would treat mast cell aktiviation but left borrelia in the body, would this bacteria still do damage even if I dont feel any symptoms any more. Cause I have both. SIBO, high histamine, but a normal DAO, and Lyme. Many thanks in advice if you could help.

I recently ended up in the ER AGAIN with an allergic reaction. As I fell asleep, my face and neck and eyes started feeling as if they were on fire and my face turned beet red and swelled up. This isn’t the first time this has happened. In fact, I’ve had anaphylaxis sporadically for 30 years and no doctor has been able to tell me the cause …until this visit. (I’ve just been told to carry an epi pen.)
For years it was exercise or stress that induced some kind of severe allergic response. This most recent ER doctor told me he believed I have mast cell degeneration. So I turned to CZcams for help because my PCP only wants to prescribe drugs.
Now I’m wondering if my ongoing severe pressure in my bronchial area effecting my breathing is caused by this histamine response?? This is just another symptom being ignored by docs)
    Thank you for the information.

Hi There, I am 56 year old male experiencing some of the symptoms you mentioned related to Histamine intolerance. The trouble is that I have also borderline thyroid which some of the symptoms overlap. To make it more complicated, some of my symptoms become more evident after the Covid vaccines. So, my question is how to know if my symptoms are related to Histamine intolerance and/or allergies?

    • @kebbells1
      @kebbells1 Před rokem +1

Enginyldrm7639 - if you're having thyroid issues this could be related to leaky gut/gluten. The tissue that your thyroid is made from is almost identical in structure to the proteins found in gluten. If you've leaky gut and these proteins enter your bloodstream your immune system can't differentiate between your thyroid and these proteins so your thyroid ends up being attacked by your own immune system. Try omitting gluten, focus on healing leaky gut and the great advice given in this video. Heal your gut and the rest will take care of itself.

I started having histamine intolerance after I gave birth. I had GBS so they put me on heavy antibiotics, had severe chronic gastritis after consuming NSAIDS for 8 weeks for the pain of childbirth. Also, I ordered a home test online and found out that I have high amounts of candida in my blood, but wasn't detected in stool tests. 12 yrs later, I still suffer from severe GI issues, gallstones, kidney stones, inflamed gut and stomach, stuffy nose, perfume allergies, and severe high blood pressure. Doctors don't know what's keeping my blood pressure high. I never had histamine issues before, but I now notice that high oxalate & histamine (citrus, chocolate, and tomato sauce) foods further aggravate my chronic gastritis and high blood pressure. Doctors put me on many pharmaceuticals for the blood pressure issue, yet it only brings it down a little. My question is...can these histamine and oxalate sensitivities be reversed? And, do you have a website where I can purchase protocols with herbs & diet for each health issue? Thank You.

I even have taken approximately seven Benadryl just to help relieve the inflammation I’ve gone to doctors I’ve gone to an allergist. They just tell me I have a histamine intolerance, but they do not know the root cause of it. Was xolair shots for two years that worked fine but my insurance changed and I do not want to pay for that every month it’s expensive. What do you suggest? I also because of this got diagnosed with diabetes type two high blood pressure probably from all the inflammation in my body. I see G.I. doctor.
