My 4g63 was hard starting just like that. Turns out it was a broken wire on the temp sensor so it was running super rich. Like this so moog sees it! Might save him a headache

I don't think it's cringey at all, actually the opposite. It's ridiculously awesome.
It's like a crazy colorful parrot (and noisy as one). Bring one of these and you can have a rave party anywhere, these things were also lit af with neons, imagine that being modernized with LEDs without having weight problems. Proper show cars are cool and can be used as party bombs.
I'm not a fanboy, just getting nostalgic. If you think about it, it's not that bad.
Now we have camber "stancelife", "hellaflush" idiots, that just makes the car horrible to drive and potentially dangerous in high speeds.

Walking around AutoSalon where groups of people would start on paying viewers for standing too close to their show car even though you were still 10ft away, or staring at it for too long, or for looking at a car model and talking to her because her boyfriend is one of the group.
That's what killed sex spec quick, the attitudes of the owners at the time were holier than thou and superiority complexes were everywhere.
Some great cars from that era for me were the WAS-55P Excel, the 2DAI4 Charade, the Droid cars, GRLPWR Charade, all top quality cars with great people owning them. 👍

I would suggest changing the timing belt since it's been sitting in a shed for 6 years it can't really be that good anymore and you don't know how many miles that's on it. it's not very good if it would snap

@@bjorn1583 yea and while hes at it might as well get some forged rod, pistons and some new bearings...maybe even redo the rear half while he waits on the machining ....lol jokes aside he really should consider doing the timing belt and any major auxiliary pumps(oil and coolant ) before he races it.....also if hes actually planing on running e85 will those factory fuel lines hold up? we didnt get the older evos out my way so i only get to see older EVO's that have been through some shit, for better or worse, so i have no idea if their lines are cool with E85

Anyone else come to realize that mighty car mods isn't really mighty car mods anymore? I feel like im not learning anything anymore, things used to be about showing you how to do things and showing how to do mods or interesting things to your car, i still enjoy the show but it has definitely changed.
That is where the Skid Factory on mcm2 comes in.
Where we learn how to LS swap your dads lawnmower from the legend himself: Turbo Yoda
You can only do basic driveway mods so many times. They still go into detail when said mods present a unique challenge or situation, but for the most part the MCM back catalog covers a lot of ground that doesn't really need to be covered over and over. Though I do hope that it comes up when people are looking for tutorials on how to do those sorts of things.
That said, what they're teaching now is more along the lines of what sort of work goes into certain more ambitious projects such as the Mira. Not a "how to" but more "Here's what to consider before deciding you want to do X". They're not professional mechanics, so they don't, and shouldn't, go into the sort of detail that you get on shows like the Skid Factory, but I think it's still a good resource for demonstrating the sort of "next steps" people might be interested in when they've done the basics and are ready for the next levels of upgrade in terms of what options are out there, and informing people of the amount of work it takes which might be better left to professionals..

Moog, if you use the "T" stopper on your radiator ez-fill funnel as a stir stick the coolant will cling to the edges while the air comes out the middle to fill your radiator faster. Make sure that you stir vigorously enough to get the coolant mix to swirl like a toilet bowl flushing. Cheers mate....keep up the quality vids. Your friend in America Matt
