That thing sounds f'n brutal. Amazing how much power you unlocked by opening the ecm up.
8:22 Not only is it in the rev range you will feel Every single time you take off. BUT Its Sooo smooth that will be Even That Much More noticeable. Not to mention MUCH more enjoyable. You dont get that feeling of "wait where'd the power go.. oh there it comes again" Every time you hit that range. Just Buttery smooth acceleration.
That's nearly a 20% power bump in the lower RPM range, that's a difference the owner will definitely notice, very cool.

Yamaha did the best thing for this bike with the 270-degree crank. The thing sounds mean as hell.
270 deg? it's 90 degrees to each cylinder, hence the name crossplane, where'd you get 270 degree crankshaft?
The sound difference alone tells the tale. That's just amazing. It would be too cool to do the dynamic comparison between a re-flashed bike and something like a GP bike, a pro dragbike and whatever else you could get your hands on. You guys rock!

Its not even just about power I tune a lot of Honda K series engines and the smoothness and drivability is improved greatly just by some edits to the ignition tables. I've never tuned a bike but I'd imagine you'd notice the difference even more.

I have the woolich ecu flash also. Did really great. I went ahead and dyno tuned it also. Completely different bike!
I think the best way to go and to learn is get the flash but also get a PC 5 or 6 and the auto mapper and fuel tune it urself , u learn alot
On the throttle map, why does the factory ECU flash throttle off slightly at 9000-9500 rpm from 100% at 8500 rpm, then back to 100% at 10000 rpm?

Would this be good for a track bike because it allows for direct one to one throttle or is it better to have those restrictions to manage power to the ground?

I have a rare 15% over stock 20 yo Trumpet triple. Tuner/builder famous records holder now 84 & my phone buddy. Bet you could both backup existing flash and look for possibilities for more.

@@UltimaRSfan yea you can check out the video of the dyno pull on youtube and look it looks like they extend the rear swing arm as well because the bikes just want to wheelie especially the ones pre 2020 without lift control. I own a 2019 mt09 and the thing is a beast so i couldnt imagine it will over 200hp
good morning brother.. i have a 1199 s with a vandemon full exhaust.. i installed the termignoni t800+, and it says that will give me 16 more hp.. who true do you think that is???… if is true that will put me at 185 hp… your thoughts???

I remember riding the standard r1 in 2018 or so. It. Had a seriously choppy throttle, very uncomfortable on the wrists. Sounded nice but just no. Wonder if it's changed at all or if the r1m is any diff.

Because I am considering getting my r1 flashed, can anyone confirm that I do not need to disconnect the battery when removing the ECU? I've been told I need to disconnect the battery to avoid frying the ECU. Thanks in advance

Sounded better without all that popping and farting when letting off the throttle in my opinion, that just sounds like an overly rich & poor running condition to my ears.
The unburned fuel from the injectors squirting when off throttle is igniting in the exhaust and this will create an irregular flow turbulence to a very small degree which doesn't help the evacuation of exhaust gases.
Also that hard deceleration off throttle you describe(engine braking) can be a very useful tool in the hands of an experienced rider maybe not so much for commuting but this is an R1 afterall.
Anyways, the numbers don't lie and those are some nice gains all around.

I was always told if you’re gonna whine you may as well bottle and sell it. He’s just tuning it to the customers tastes, which doesn’t mean it’s exactly how he’d tune the bike if he owned it

That's some great mid-range improvement. Beautiful bike that didn't need the tacky stickers. Hopefully the dude knows how to get it leaned over and doesn't just ride it like a wheelie mob monkey.
It's his bike he can ride it any which way he chooses. Drag racing, rolling racing, circuit racing or just using it for commuting. Not everybody has to ride their bike the way you want them to.
