  • The Gooloo 1200 Amp Jump Starter & Battery Bank is a useful tool to carry in your car for Emergencies. The GooLoo Jump Starter also has a 18000 mAh Battery Bank which is able to quick charge any device that can be connected via the two USB connectors. It also has the ability to charge up devices using the supplied 12 Volt connector. This Gooloo jump starter can perform up to 30 jump starts when fully charged and can start vehicles as large as a 7 liter Gas Engine or a 5.5 Liter Diesel Engine. It has plenty of power for anything you need charged up. It is light weight and compact so it can be easily carried around in the glove box or trunk of your car or truck. It also comes in a convenient carrying case for easy storage. Never get stranded again because of a dead battery. Never have your phone, tablet or lap top run out of power when you are on the go. The Gooloo 1200 Amp Jump Starter is great for getting your car started or keep your devices fully charged. I'll go over all the details in the video and demonstrate how it can crank over a vehicle with a dead battery. If necessary it also has the ability to give you an extra BOOST when you press the BOOST button on the side for batteries that are REALLY, REALLY dead!.

      @@ModernDIYProjects nobody describes batteries being in trunks under back seats or under passenger front seats. To jump a battery with these features lift the front hood and look for the positive and negative terminals. Usually on the side of a fender. You can CZcams this subject. The engineers built it this way so you don’t have to go to the trunk or under any seats. My daughters 2018 Jeep GC has the battery under the passenger front seat. A bit of a pain to swap out the battery.

    Nice review! I have the exact same unit myself and had to use it today for a boost for the first time. I left my SUV on accessory mode and the battery drained. I pulled out my Gooloo and it worked like a charm!

      Glad to hear it worked out for you. That is one of their weaker units too at only 1200 amps. Want to see something crazy? I am doing a review of their 4000 amp jump starter and the video will come out tomorrow. Check that out if you want to see how they have really improved these units.

    Just purchased this exact unit for my '03 Concorde as my battery keeps dying on me in this cold (-2f ~ 10f last week), thought I would check your review while I wait for it to get here. Thank you for the video as you've made me much more secure in my purchase as now I know for sure it will perform as I need it to. 🙂

      It's a good unit, I'm sure you'll like it. BTW you may want to also consider a battery charger / maintainer during this cold weather. I did a review of one a while back. This may help prevent the dead batteries. czcams.com/video/SFFKC5cI_Bk/video.html

      @@ModernDIYProjects Thank you for the recommendation, however I live in an apartment with no covered parking/garage space for my vehicle and thus am unsure I would be able to utilize such a device unfortunately. I now have the Gooloo jump starter though and am very much excited for my battery to die again (A weird sentence to have though/typed, for sure) so I can try it out. haha

    Nice review, as always. Thanks. My issue with something like this is the need for its own charger. I have found that a USB-C charger port is the way to go. I won't lose the charger or confuse it with a different charger because it's just a standard charger. USB micro-B used to be good but that's the old standard now so I'm transitioning away from that.

    • @ModernDIYProjects
      @ModernDIYProjects  Před 2 lety +2

      Good point. I'm always looking out for you guys and I like to present alternatives. I have another jump starter coming in very soon and it resolves that problem. This other unit (which I will upload in a couple of weeks) uses USB-C for charging and it is more powerful than this one. It claims to be able to jump start even larger engines. Stay tuned for that review.

    I called a towing company to see what they use. And they recommended this brand. I'm sure we'll be able to put it to use soon since her battery dies all the time. She's had battery and checked for corrosion on the terminals and alternator but it still dies. Someone said it could be a bad cell in the battery but the battery is brand new? Who knows! Any suggestions let me know good people!

      Sounds more like a parasitic draw. Something in the car is drawing too much current and draining the battery. If there were recent changes like a new audio system, I would start with that.

      most of these banks work to some extent when colder, but much less effectively. If you're expecting extreme cold, you're best off extremely overrating your jump starter to make sure you have headroom even when the cold causes 50% loss in performance

      Yes, all these devices say to keep them charged up at least every 6 months to prevent damage to the batteries. I have seen that if you let these stay plugged in for a few hours or days it may heat up the batteries enough and bring it back. Give it a try.

    The only problem with these units are if you store them in your car (where you will need it) you run the risk of it catching fire if they get to hot on a summer day. That would be the only thing I'd be worried about.

    • @ModernDIYProjects
      @ModernDIYProjects  Před 2 lety

      I wouldn't worry. Unless you live near the Sun, I wouldn't be concerned. I think most vehicle trunks have a vent that keeps them from getting too hot. Also, I have not heard on the news car catching fire due to these units exploding during the Summer (even in Arizona) and these units have been around for many years. So I think It's a one in a million shot that a fire could happen.

    • @markurbancowboy
      @markurbancowboy Před 2 lety

      @@ModernDIYProjects
      The manufacturer says to not store in heat over 70C so that's what bothers me because we all know how hot it can get in a car in mid-summer in Florida or Arizona.

    • @ModernDIYProjects
      @ModernDIYProjects  Před 2 lety +4

      That is 158F, I think at that point the plastics inside the car would start to melt. That seems a bit too hot. I'm no expert, but I can't believe it gets that hot inside a car in Arizona or Florida. If it does, then you will need to be way more careful about everything in your car, not just this device.

    • @bhatkat
      @bhatkat Před rokem

      No doubt it can but running it without a lead acid battery would be an entirely different thing, the power from the alternator would likely cook it off, not compatible with vehicle electrical systems, would only try it for emergencies.
