  • The Gooloo 4000 Amp Jump Starter & Battery Bank is a useful tool to carry in your car for Emergencies. The GooLoo GP4000 Jump Starter also has a 26800 mAh Battery Bank which is able to quick charge any device that can be connected via the Two USB-A or Single USB-C Connectors. It also has the ability to charge up devices using the 12 Volt Cigarette Lighter style connector. This Gooloo jump starter can jump starts vehicles as large as a 10 Liter Diesel Engine or ANY Size Gas Engine. It has plenty of power for anything you need charged up. It is light weight and compact so it can be easily carried around in the glove box or trunk of your car or truck. It also comes in a convenient carrying case for easy storage. Never get stranded again because of a dead battery. Never have your phone, tablet or lap top run out of power when you are on the go. The Gooloo 4000 Amp Jump Starter is great for getting your car started or keep your devices fully charged. I'll go over all the details in the video and demonstrate how it can crank over a vehicle with a dead battery. If necessary it also has the ability to give you an extra BOOST when you press the BOOST button on the side for batteries that are REALLY, REALLY dead!.

    Great review, thank you. I have just purchased this exact unit. It is the type of thing you never get to actually try until you need it so your review provides reassurance. One comment. I would have liked to have heard the engine cranking with the dead battery. That would take about 5 seconds of video, less than the two times you said it would be too boring. Then we would really see the difference.

    This looks like a nice piece of equipment. I do have a couple observations/concerns about the test that was done. First, if the battery in the truck could power headlights and fog lights it is not a nearly dead battery. I would expect the test to be successful under those conditions. I'd like to see a test with a nearly dead battery, which is when the jump starter would be needed most times. I have a 7.3 powerstroke with two batteries, I don't think this jump starter would do the job for this truck. Second, as with most of these lithium ion jump starters they have rather small clamps to attach batteries. The battery terminals on my 7.3 powerstroke are huge, these clamps wouldn't work. I'd like to see an option to purchase larger clamps with this unit.

      @44warden Před 2 lety

      A 4000 amp jump starter should DEFINITELY start your 7.3!! In addition he explained that by pushing the green boost button can start a really low amp battery.

      Obviously you haven't seen my other video reviews of jump starters before this one. As I have pointed out in previous videos, this battery is not completely dead, but it does fall to about 11V. That is too low to crank over this motor, but that is plenty of power to turn on lights and accessories. If I had left the lights on, it would have dropped to Zero volts in about 15 minutes.

    Nice product review , but I think it would be better if you used this jump starter pack to start a vehicle that has dead battery ( let’s say 7 or 8 volts ) because that is a usual case for most car owners who leave some electric stuff on overnight and when they wake up in the morning they figure out that their car battery is dead !

    I bought this thing and it seems great! I was wondering if it would jump-start a big rig. My father drives an 18-wheeler truck first job but I wonder if it would start that. I would figure that it wouldn't, but I just wanted to know out of curiosity.

    • @ModernDIYProjects
      @ModernDIYProjects  Před 2 lety

      Can't say for certain. I'm not very knowledgeable about Big Rig diesels. This jump starter says it will start any 12V Diesel, but aren't the Big Rigs a 24V system? In that case I don't think it will.

    Great video here, and the guy on Project Farm is good,and also and did a great video
    on these portable jump starters, with "realtime examples." He is very good, and I think
    from your video and his Video, I'll buy the Gooloo -- there is a 2000 model and 4,000 amps.
    Both get the job done I think. I'm just not sure if you can charge this Gooloo unit from
    a cigarette lighter in your car, and also does this unit come with a wall plug to charge
    it in your house ?? Please let me know, and thanks for the great Video.

      Glad you liked the video. This unit comes with a USB-C cable that you can use to charge from both house and car lighter. Everything you need is included in the kit. You can see at the beginning of the video where I lay out all the accessories included in the kit.

    I bought a car jump starter Gooloo GP4000 and that unit didn’t come a USB-C wall charger, I am wondering which wall charger to buy. On the box it listed input 15V(5V/3A). In the manual, it says this unit can be charged with a type-C cable and a 5V wall charger ( phone charger) or car chargers. ( only via the QC3.0 wall charger or car charger can achieve the quick charge input function). I want to buy a fast wall charger for my jump starter, what would you recommend?

    • @ModernDIYProjects
      @ModernDIYProjects  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I generally only use the cables that come with the unit, but any USB-C charger and cable will do the trick. I doubt that any USB-C fast charger will overcharge the unit. It has some fancy electronics inside so it will tune down whatever juice is thrown at it if it is too much.

    Curious why the cigarette adapter output is at 15VDC instead of 12VDC…may be a serious issue with some equipment

    • @ModernDIYProjects
      @ModernDIYProjects  Před 2 lety

      The device has a chip that controls output, that is why it can control the output for the USB ports also. I think it will only put out what the plugged in device demands from it. It has surge protection also built in so I don't think it will damage any device you plug into it.

    • @Dave-ei7kk
      @Dave-ei7kk Před 2 lety +1

      Keep in mind that most of the 12V things that you might want to power from this booster are designed to be plugged into an automobile cigarette lighter where the voltage can easily reach 15 V with the car running and the alternator charging the battery, especially on a cold day. So that shouldn’t be a problem.

      @@ModernDIYProjects … My Bad … Should have specified that I have the “GP37-Plus” of the Elite series.
      It took some time to test in order to fully charge before each vehicle. I tested variations from totally dead on up. Consequently, the ONLY successful jump start was by accident. My son left his four banger here when he left for the military. I’d been cranking it and let it warm up on occasion. But actually not long enough to recharge what I used cranking each time. As luck would have it, I went to crank it and although it weekly turned over it wouldn’t crank. The Gooloo gave it just enough extra to crank.
      It definitely didn’t live up to what they said it would do.

    • @ModernDIYProjects
      @ModernDIYProjects  Před 2 lety

      Sorry to hear that. I see that the GP-37 only has 1200 amps peak. Did you try pressing the Boost button on the side of the jumper cables to give you more power when jumping the vehicles? Because the jump starter only gives you a minimum power at first and then will give you more if you hit Boost. It has a limiter that is released when you press the boost. Try that and see if it helps. If not it will certainly work as a battery bank since it does have plenty of power stored up.

      The Bigger (more amps peak) the more power you have to start your car or truck. So if money is not an issue, then getting the biggest one you can afford is the best idea. That way you have much more power to start any size engine.

      Unfortunately I have already done 4 or 5 different jump starter reviews and they all seem to be rather short. I guess they make them that way for easy storage. If I do find one with longer cables I may review it in the future. Lately I have been focusing more on Amps than anything else.

    • @NCF8710
      @NCF8710 Před 2 lety

      Longer cables will require a heavier gauge wire to support the starting current. The unit is small enough to be placed next to the battery.

      You could attach the jumper cables ground to a metal surface and the positive to the battery terminal. sometimes a good ground is closer then the other terminal. You could also set it on the battery although it would be best to set it on something non conductive and disposable on top of the battery like a grocery bag to avoid getting battery acid or residue on it.
