You can kind of just see it in their faces tho. Wiseman has that same kind of face. Idk how to describe it. But I guess Ingram and AD also have that similar face but they are actually stars, so maybe my face technique is flawed

I said this when he came into the league, after all his bitching about having to play one year at LSU, and he couldn't even finish that out. I said that any team that drafted Ben Simmons would regret it, because he doesn't want to play. He wants to be a star, and he has all the physical gifts to do that, but he wouldn't put in the work and he didn't have the mental toughness to fight through things when the going got tough. He was the tin man of the NBA, physically strong, but absolutely zero heart. For whatever reason, he doesn't have that piece mentally, and you can't have that. I would take a guy who was much less physically gifted, but wanted it more, over a player like Ben Simmons any day of the week.

Absolutely agree, Simmons will swiftly be out of the NBA before his thirtieth birthday. The contract was an albatross. While he might have “earned it” with his first 3 seasons, I would say there were definitely some red flags prior to Philadelphia executing that contract.

There's a lot of players that are full of talent, but at the end of the day Ben Simmons didn't want to work on his jump shot. Jordan had to really work hard on his mid range game as well as getting in the gym and become a dominant post presents. Not saying Simmons is on that level but he could have been a perennial all star for years to come, he ended up just fizzling out like a lot of other players with a lot of talent

I think scouts should put more emphasis on the mentality of the player coupled with their skills cause if they seem like terrible decision makers or crumble under pressure or are too sensitive or don't have extreme drive to perform, they should rethink their decision to draft or sign said player. Another underrated factor that seems to be overseen is how injury prone the player is. There have been many talented players but out of all the talented injury prone players, only a few have made it far in the playoffs. The most recent example being Kawhi Leonard.
